This used to be our go-to thrift store in the area, because they did have very nice items, but things have changed significantly over the last several months. First and foremost: their prices are RIDICULOUS, when they didn't use to be just six months ago. They have always been slightly higher than an average thrift store, because their products have been somewhat nicer, but not THAT nice. The last three or four times we've stopped by to browse, we've seen that their prices have DOUBLED or TRIPLED, to the point that they are now, honestly, just as, if not more costly than comparative items bought NEW (!) at retail outlets like Ross or TJ Maxx. This last time I was there, just a couple of days ago, they wanted $4-5 for a USED TEACUP, and $20 for a tiny little 5 x 7 framed print that would have cost $5 bucks at the TWO larger thrift stores that are literally about a stone's throw away, in shopping centers across the street. I was shocked - I doubt that print would have cost $20 when it was NEW! Suffice to say, I didn't buy it... or anything else. We have donated MANY good-quality, gently used items over the past six or seven years, but I will no longer be doing so, at least for the foreseeable future, as this place is, in my opinion, simply put, price-gouging customers. I even mentioned the exorbitant price increases to several associates, who merely smirked and laughed it off. It's not going to be funny when you can't pay your rent, because their customers are going elsewhere - literally, across the street. In addition, as several other reviewers have mentioned, I have also noticed that the staff they now have working there have become very rude and dismissive. Their attitudes have completely changed, compared to even just a few months ago, so I don't know what's happening with this place. So, to that end: I have decided to vote with my wallet and go elsewhere. For example: today, I have been accumulating a large bag of clothing and various household items that I intended to donate when I'm up that way ... but I will be taking it to the Goodwill across the street. I'm not going to support a business which is, in my opinion, ripping people off and who employs associates who are just snide and discourteous. They need to remember, if they want to stay in business, that there are THREE thrift stores almost literally within a stone's throw, just across the street from each other, so their practices and attitudes are going to cost them, as their former customers will just start going elsewhere. I'll stop by in a couple of months to see if anything has changed, in terms of their pricing... and, if not, I hate to say it, but, they've lost a very longtime, loyal customer. Do better, y'all. This is a THRIFT STORE, not a consignment shop or a boutique. You're selling hand-me-downs that the community has donated to a CHARITY. To the owner or upper management: tell those women you have working there to come down off their high-horse and behave like it. read more

Started coming back here again after not being here for a year. Their $1 section has some hidden gems of free people, and nice linen items. They have a pretty cool rewards system, so make sure you get a card when you go in. I suggest taking a photo of the barcode on the back of the card, so even if you don't have it with you physically they can still scan it Their dresses are always really good, but I am still keeping this spot at 4 star because some things in their furniture, name brand section, and new with tags section are just a little pricey in my opinion. I enjoy looking at resale items especially specific camping items and good old school CD's. A friend and I checked out the place and found a couple of things we most likely didn't need, but still compelled to buy (future hoarders). At the entrance they have a board with what discounts they are running at that time. The place is well lit and the elbow room is great. You don't feel you are going to knock something over. I found that mostly everything I picked up was clearly marked, and displayed nicely, not just thrown on the shelf. They had things nicely arranged, and organized. They had a little bit of everything, but sadly I did not find any fun camping items. They had plenty of room to place large furniture. And it looks like they may hold items for you once you have purchased it, and can make arrangements to pick up later. The place is very clean and doesn't have that musty odor when you stroll through the clothing area. It's a decent size store and has good intentions. TERI, Training, Education, Resource Institute goal is to improve the quality of life for children ad adults with developmental and learning disabilities. Just steps away from the register you will find some beautiful art/craft items crafted by those challenged with developmental disabilities. You should check out, I purchased a couple of pieces, gifted one and kept the other. This stop is located in a strip mall. There is plenty of parking, but it does get quite busy. If you don't have to, I suggest not parking directly in front of the store or you will have a difficult time pulling out due to high traffic. read more

This used to be my favorite thrift store, now I won't be going back. The woman working the day I went with my daughter has been there for years, I don't think she's the manager, and she is not friendly. For clarification, she's the older woman, tall with dark poofy-ish hair, always dressed for success., not the shorter more casual woman that I think is the actual manager and whom I think is terrific. Anyhoo, the day we went in was a sale day, I'd gotten an email alert for a flash sale. We shopped, and at one point I asked the woman to clarify the sale and she said there's a sign, to which I said it was hard to decipher, while I'm Thinking that was rude of her to say. Honestly her whole vibe was bitchy. When I went to pay it turns out none of my items were part of the sale, I was confused because the sign said all colored tags, ALL OF THEIR TAGS ARE COLORED! She tells me again, I should read the signs! So I end up p Keeping one shirt and tell my daughter I'll pay for her stuff, assuming at least she got the deals ( she's a very savvy shopper and has been here many times before.) I pay for everything and as I'm leaving I was going over what I just paid in my head and checking the receipt, I paid full price for everything! Meanwhile another woman checking out with a huge amount of clothes seemed to get a discount on everything. So I went back to the counter to ask why it appeared I received no discounts, she again tells me to read the signs. I was over the attitude and so just snapped a few pics of the signs and left. Honestly, I got the impression that she didn't like us the minute we walked in the door with our Covid 19 masks on, we wear them everywhere for several reasons, which really is no one else's business. We are well aware of the looks of disdain we get from others much of the time, I'm not sure why people are so upset by them, but it doesn't matter, I have to wear a mask. That being said, the woman working that day, had the nerve to ask my daughter "what's with the masks ?" Really? Why would you ask a personal question like that? What if my daughter had said "because I have Leukemia and I have to be careful?" After the obvious rude attitude she'd already given, that was just a confirmation that she particularly didn't care for us. Sorry Teri, I used to drop things off, then spend money in the shop, and recommend you to others, not anymore. Sad that one bad apple can spoil the bunch. read more

This is a gem of a thrift store, and me and my daughter's new favorite. Just happened upon this store as I was passing thru and they were having a flash sale - half off on all clothing. I started picking up a few things, and sending pics to my daughter and finally just told her to come in to see for herself. She arrived and we found so many great items- half of which was new with retail tags. Daughter also found two pair of great shoes for $4.99 and $5.99. They look barely worn. The store was fresh and clean and nicely organized. They have two large fitting rooms to try on clothes. The employees were so friendly and helpful. Loved all the jewelry and accessories they have on display. They also have very nice furniture- clean and in good shape. Will be visiting often now that I know about the place. read more

*** This store is now at 3772 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA 92058 - and has been renamed to TERI Inspired Resale *** This is a pretty good shop - I didn't find anything I wanted but the items were fairly nice for a thrift store. Some items were a little pricey (like picture frames that were close to $10 here (about the price of new) would be maybe $5 at the most elsewhere) but other items were reasonably priced. There was a decent selection of used furniture that could be a great start for someone knowledgeable about re-upholstering. Also, there were some nice pieces of affordable art made by TERI clients, at the front of the store. I talked to one of the employees who explained that this is the new location for the thrift store formerly known as Potpourri, that was previous located on S Coast Hwy. This made it a little confusing until I made the phone call, when it looks like this shop is still at the old location. Completely rude/ racist and homophobic! Was treated like shit while in this store!! Went to counter to checkout and stood on the square and was completely social distancing and the rude bitch working there decided she wanted to be a Karen and was completely out of line when she told me I needed to step back because she was already helping someone that was obviously invisible because I was clearly the one standing in front of the register. I scored five shirts, one jacket, a cute taco holder set, two books and a movie for $15! I always enjoy seeing Rose when I stop in. I hadn't been in for a while but she remembered me and asked how my husband was doing (cancer survivor) and how my two girls are. Made me feel so good that she cared. I absolutely love thrift stores! This one benefits TERI, a local organization that has a school, recreational, and training opportunities for autistic individuals (and other disabilities). It's located right around the corner from my house, and the store gets a lot of traffic, so there is a constantly changing supply to come rummage through! I love that there are so many people who volunteer with this project. I will say that many items in the store are very much overpriced, but I'm not sure if that's just due to not knowing how to price thrift store merchandise on behalf of the owners or if it's because they're trying to make as much money as possible with this store. Either way, it never hurts to take a look at what's in stock - every so often, you may find a gem for a decent price. The location is very visible - which is a smart move for a nonprofit looking to make a successful thrift store happen in this area - so many have closed due to poor sales, unfortunately...and as I said before, I love thrift stores! I'm glad to see this addition to our neighborhood businesses, and I wish them all of the success in the world. I'll definitely be swinging by whenever possible to see if I can find something I just can't live without! read more

Super cute place! Not only did most of the clothes have the original tags on them, but they sale a lot of nice brands at a very low price. I definitely will be coming here again. I also really appreciate how clean it was. All the employees wore masks and enforced social distancing. If you're looking for neat thrift finds at a great price, I recommend coming to Teri's. This is a great little thrift store! They have a monthly deal which normally features some clothing for $1, and shoes for $2. So many thrift stores in the area do not offer specials, so it's really great that TERI does. They also have a good selection of furniture and home goods. The prices are very reasonable as well. So 5 stars to the organization and what they do, however, their thrift store is just ehh. I like to thrift so I can find designer gems but with covid I recently found out that they have their own POSHMARK store where they keep and list the designer items they receive. That's fine and all but it keeps me from wanting to shop there because the fun for me is to find the designer pieces. The store is full of mall brands and no name brands. If that doesn't bother you cool but it bothers me. I will still shop there on $2 & $3 dollar days but other than that it's taken out of my rotation. There's no fun in thrifting there. Also, make sure you check things carefully, I'd say about 7 items I've purchased there I had to throw away or re-donate. I didn't see the flaws in the store but there they were there when I got home. It's the same markings too...some yellow stain... not sure but they don't have returns so don't get let down like I did. Check. Other than that I like their sales and the organization. read more

Store is really cute, organized, and easy to navigate. The store is mostly clothing with a section for furniture. The furniture is really nice as if they were barely used! The price tags on the clothing are similar to the prices at the Goodwill across the street, BUT most of the time they are actually 50%! I saw a 50% off all clothing, purses, shoes sign at the very back of the store, but I wasn't sure if that was correct so I asked the woman upfront at the cash register and she confirmed! There is also a $1 clearance rack outside the store that has some hidden gems for sure. I found a pair of free people flats and Brandy Melville shorts for just a dollar while looking through them! * They also have flash deals where furniture is 50% or clothing is $3 on specific days if you sign up for their email listing. This thrift store recently relocated from coast highway and their new store is spectacular! It is well lit and spacious. I Thrift a lot and this is one of the best shops I have been to. It is definitely the most organized! Clothes are in order by size, style and color. You don't have to work really hard to find what you are looking for. Plus the staff is super friendly and care about their customers! And to top it all off you will be supporting a great organization that helps children and adults with special needs. Edit: all of the above is still true but they have jacked the prices way up now! $7 for a walmart brand shirt and $13 for an old navy shirt. I'm shook about this pricing. I absolutely love this thrift store it's always so organized and the staff is so friendly. They always have the best clothes and i don't feel like i need to dig through things like most thrift stores you really have to look but because of the organization everything is easy to find. Their dressing rooms are open even during covid and are always very clean and nice you'd think your in an actual boutique. They also have a great discounts on prices that are already low. Everything seemed overpriced. I was not impressed. Customer service is not consistent-the employee (cashier) completely ignored me but she was friendly with others. So obviously they don't treat everyone equally. It's not likely I will return here. This organization, TERI Campus of Life, is supposedly a care center for people with autism. Whenever I drove by their center on Deer Springs Rd. in San Marcos, I thought it was some religious cult commune. Potpourri has the feel of a consignment shop -- the merchandise is nicely laid out, everything is clean and well sorted, there's a lot of furniture, art, and housewares as well as clothing. But it has the great prices of a thrift store, and your money supports a great cause! (Proceeds go to TERI, a group that provides services to people with autism and developmental disabilities.) Unlike Goodwill, items are individually priced. So it's not as if all dresses (from the great to the threadbare) will be the same price, and all t-shirts the same price. An Armani suit I saw cost $25; an older from a brand I haven't heard of was $12. I've been a big fan of poppin' tags at the thrift shop since long before Macklemore came on the scene, and this is one of the better experiences I've had. That's because of the great clearance specials they had going on: several racks of clothes outside where everything is $1, everything with a purple tag 40% off, and ALL shoes in the store only $3! I bought 2 pairs of leather shoes, one of which was marked at $15, for $3 each. And I found a leather jacket in good condition on the dollar rack. 2 pairs of shoes and a jacket, all leather, for $7 -- quite a come up. There's a sizeable parking lot in the back. Men, you might want to pass; there's very little men's clothing. But so many women's shoes! I'll be back for sure. read more

From long dining tables to glassware to chandeliers ... all good prices.
