Found this little gem while in Solana Beach. It is a perfect little thrift store for those looking for an eclectic and organized thrift store. The owner is super helpful and very pleasant. There are a ton of shoes, clothes and various home items that are a fairly priced. Plus there is AC and restrooms and parking is plentiful. Definetly worthy of a visit. read more

Ah, the trailer location of this place takes me back to my portable days of elementary school! No hate on that, just quirky. I'm not sure if the grass is really good in Solana Beach but it must be based on the prices at St. James. $100 for a jacket and $200 for a ski seat.....at a thrift store? No thank you. We perused for a little bit and then about 10 mins in, the volunteers told us about the specials of the day but really, they weren't that special. I finally found a dollar rack (holla!) and walked away with an Athlete jacket (why is Athlete on the dollar rack??) and a book for $3. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

This was our first visit since this thrift shop moved from its Academy Drive location, where we had been customers and loyal donors for two decades. I must say that we were disappointed. The shop is now in a trailer next to St. Leo Mission. Interior is tight with very narrow aisles and some merchandise piled in boxes on the floor. Prices are generally higher than other thrift stores in the area. The one volunteer we encountered was very nice and helpful. Parking lot has a single access from Ida Avenue with a large hump on which we bottomed out leaving. read more

I don't recommend going out of your way to shop here. The prices are extremely high and the pricing system they use is so confusing. They do have sales most of the time but even with the sale going on prices are still really high!! Ex: Empyre pants for $40 half off $20. North face jacket $80 etc. It is extremely packed in there for that same reason. The prices are too high so most people walk in and right back out. Whoever is running this store needs to regroup and realize selling methods are not working. If they put reasonable prices instead of high prices w discounts maybe they will make more sales and maybe get more donations. read more

There are good finds to be had here. It was welcoming and the staff was nice. I found a pair of earrings here that weighed 6g total and were made of 14k solid gold. Good luck hunters! read more

A small thrift shop run by volunteers. It belongs to a St James catholic church. I donated a few things here and there to this shop. Its has a little bit of everything, kitchen items, clothing, books. I haven't really seen any furniture exept a few chairs. read more

Nice selection of second-hand items. The store is clean and employees are friendly and helpful. The one thing that I noticed immediately was that most items were grossly overpriced for a thrift store. This diminishes the idea of buying second-hand bargains. For that reason alone, I won't likely shop or donate here again. read more

This is by far my favorite thrift shop! An eclectic mix of everything - practical household goods, clothing from basic to designer fashion, vintage jewelry, etc. And such awesome people working there too. Where can you go to a thrift store and pay higher than retail? St James it is! 80 bucks for a Robert Graham shirt, 90 bucks for a guitar hero guitar with a duct taped battery cover, 30 bucks for a used Simpsons season DVD set, used DVDs for 6 bucks, 10 bucks for a used old navy shirt! Seemed to be a sewing circle with the women working there. Robbing the poor to line the pockets of their church, Jesus would be ashamed! You'd be better served buying at full retail than spend any money here. Complete waste of time, I'd be surprised if they sold anything at all. What a joke. read more

My daughter and I found lots of treasures here. Clothing was reasonably priced and sometimes negotiable, especially if you bought a few items like we did. In the back they have 75% off racks. Make sure you don't miss those! Great priced workout clothes. We found Xmas items on sale, men's and women's clothes, a kid section, toys and puzzles. The ladies were very helpful and friendly. What a disappointment. Each time I come to shop the price structure is different. It's utterly confusing and items are priced way to high for a outreach community thrift store. A Target dress on the "Designer" rack for $25??? Come on! I would suggest St.Peters Thrift in Del Mar. Prices are between $4 and $10 and many times half off. read more

They doubled the price of a set of golf clubs when I got to the checkout. I had confirmed the price at "N" just minutes before with the employee the employee who later jacked it up at the register x2. She had conferred with another employee and the price was settled. I went to buy two other items. When I got to the counter (on "half off" day), they told me the most expensive item was going to be doubled. It was a 1990's golf club set, minus 2 clubs, with a mismatched driver and putter in a beaten 80's bag. Clubs and bag were both visibly roughed up from use. They said it goes new for about $400, and therefore the price is doubled. They had no clue on both customer service and knowing the worth of what they have. She was looking at a NWT Taylormade set on her phone!!! I put everything back and left. The employee who jacked the price tied to pin it on her co-worker. I called her out, as that was false. Earlier I asked the price of an item and they asked me how much I'd like to pay for it. These are 100% amateurs. Worst thrift experience in 20 years. Honest. The worst. read more

This place is awesome! St. John, Tahari, Dana Buchman, Ungaro, Prada, 7 for All Mankind, Talbot's, J. Crew, Prada - Books, CD's, Furniture - you name it, I've found it here. This place gets donations from local parishioners and residents - Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, Solana Beach and elsewhere so there is a lot of good stuff. A majority of the clothes go from $1.50 for tank tops, to $2.50 for sweaters and pants. Some designer or brand new clothing is more, but since it's all half price, all day, everyday, it's still way better than other thrift shops I've been to. A little hard to find, but worth it. HAHA they're so sweet. I'm a nightmare customer. First of all, I came here to buy a $3 picture frame with a credit card. They don't accept credit cards. So the smallest bill I had in my wallet was a $100 bill...most mom 'n pop stores would shoo me out. No...they attempted opening their cash register to give me change. They didn't have enough change. Pretty soon their register got locked out, so they couldn't give me change at all. Eventually my aunt saved them the trouble by giving them three one dollar bills. Although I'm a lame customer, I'm really grateful for their kindness and their effort to accommodate my lameness. read more

The place is small but organized. Lots of CD's and DVD;s, some nice-looking baskets. Everything is 50% off all the time, but the sign telling you that is behind the checkout counter, way above eye level. I happened to ask the cashier if there were any specials, and she let me know. However, she didn't mention that items a dollar or less were not discounted, until I was checking out and questioned the total. Since only one of my items was included, I spent almost twice what I was expecting, $8 vs $4.50. It didn't break me, but it left a bad taste. I got a few kid and household items - didn't look at clothes. Anyway, why not just price things at the price you're selling them for? And if you can't do that, put a sign on the front door, or somewhere people will see it. Even the cashier was mystified as to the policy. read more
