However, as with many thrift type stores, I found some of the items to be unreasonably priced. Take a look at my photos and videos below to see. They did have some clothes 50%, which I though was a great deal. Their shoes were in pretty good condtion and while not super cheap, I think they are reasonable if you cannot find that same shoe online or in-stores anymore. At the time I came, they did not have real gold jewelry. I asked one of the associates and I believe Deborah herself answered when she said it wouldn't be available for another hour. Deborah was deep into what very much appeared to be researching her items before listing them for sale. Cool place to check out, but definitely consider skipping the store items and bags as you can find better prices elsewhere. Unless you want to support a local business, of course.

Unfortunately, my experience was pretty disappointing. The prices were extremely high for a thrift store, especially compared to other locations I frequent. On top of that, many of the items I came across were in poor condition, which made the pricing even harder to justify. Customer service didn't help the experience either. I asked an employee for help with an item that didn't have a price, and he seemed bothered by the request. He went to check but took quite a while and never came back. As I was heading out, he finally returned and called me over only to tell me the price, which again, was far too high. Overall, I left without purchasing anything and don't see myself returning. I will say the store is fairly organized and located in a busy shopping center with plenty of parking, which is convenient. But unless you're okay with paying high prices, this probably isn't the place for you.

I did find a great dresser that was just what I needed. If I'd purchased it the day before I did buy it, I would have paid much more. I just lucked out with my timing. I sold high-quality, double and triple-matted, archival-framed artwork there, some of which were prints while others were original paintings. All of them sold for next to nothing.

Multiple pieces were stained, dirty, and a three pieces had rips/holes. The shoes were piled up in heaps, and are no longer organized by size so you have to look through every pair for your size. I don't mind overpaying when the experience is quality, but these clothes are WAY overpriced and it feels like Ross meets Salvation Army. You can do better.

A true hidden gem in San Marcos! This is the ONLY thrift store left that has actual "thrift store…read morepricing". Books 10 for $1! Kids clothes $1-3! Puzzles and board games $1-$2! Kids shoes $2! They often have sales going on as well. The staff there are exceptionally helpful and so kind. I love their mission and how much they give back to the foster community. My only recommendation is to call before going. Since they are run solely by volunteers and have limited hours, there have been times when I wanted to drop off donations and wasn't able to since they were closed. Please check this place out!!!

I was really disappointed hearing about my daughter's experience at Kind Threads. My daughter politely asked if it was okay for them to look around, and the employee responded with, "Um, sure, but be careful because we're remodeling." What made this strange was that there didn't appear to be any remodeling happening at the time. On top of that, my daughter noticed that other customers who came in were greeted and treated normally, while she and her friend weren't given the same welcoming attitude. Whether someone is young or just browsing, they should still be treated with basic respect and kindness. My daughter left feeling like she and her friend weren't welcome there, which is disappointing. Aside from the customer service, I also think a lot of the items are extremely overpriced for what they are. Much of the merchandise seemed like random secondhand items or junk being sold at prices that simply didn't seem worth it. After hearing how my daughter and her friend were treated, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. Customer service and making everyone feel welcome should be a priority.

I always find a little something for a birthday or to add to a birthday gift. It's great for teacher's gifts and stocking stuffers at the holidays too. It's my favorite antique shop in Esco and now has regular hours. It's worth a trip out to see what they have in their different booths.
