This is a large consignment shop with some unique finds, especially if you enjoy vintage, antique furniture and knick knacks. However, as with many thrift type stores, I found some of the items to be unreasonably priced. Take a look at my photos and videos below to see. They did have some clothes 50%, which I though was a great deal. Their shoes were in pretty good condtion and while not super cheap, I think they are reasonable if you cannot find that same shoe online or in-stores anymore. At the time I came, they did not have real gold jewelry. I asked one of the associates and I believe Deborah herself answered when she said it wouldn't be available for another hour. Deborah was deep into what very much appeared to be researching her items before listing them for sale. Answers to your questions vary every time you ask. She is rude, keeps no records of sales, so in many cases you won't know how much she sells your items for. And I have been very involved with other sellers online, etc. in fact I was just in Vegas and had dinner with well know YouTube thrifters. The first time I walked in I tried to ignore other reviews as I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. There was a distance and lack of warmth but chocked that up to being busy. I made an appt for over a month in advance as that is how "busy" they were. The only reason I brought things in was that we were moving out of state and took some things here and most (thank goodness) to Consignment Classics in Carlsbad. First there was a very young girl there who made rude comments. She and another woman went through the clothes etc and most of what they kept had tags or was easily identified as collectible. They kept I think 12 to 15 things (we moved and receipt which was very is somewhere in a box) and I have heard NOTHING from them. Have same cell number. So whatever they made they kept and I just hope that what they ended up not selling went to a deserving charity (which I should get the benefit of deductions not them) Please note they do have some nice pieces but service is less than zero. And not to throw too much shade but this is in a crappy strip mall next to a tattoo shop. In Escondido. WTF. Seriously the staff at the VA thrift down the street are nicer and more helpful. If you are looking for a GREAT place to get deals and have your money do some good go to the Assistance League down the street. Or on eBay or Poshmark. BE AWARE YOU WILL BE SCAMMED BY THIS STORE. I made the mistake of not checking reviews for this consignment store. I was under a tight timeline, and in need of selling antique chairs, and fine art prior to moving out of state. This store will not promise the pricing for your items, nor will they commit to any time line for your furniture and art sales. I had a friend deliver two antique and renovated chairs for sale as well as fine art when I can along with the delivery. When I phoned back within 30 days nothing was sold. I was told to phone back within 60 days, and was then told that $79.20 was due to me out of the 60/40 % split. I had to remind the female person that took my call that I lived out of state. I was hung up on, even though the sales had taken place. Unfortunately, as other reviewers will state, that the customer service is SUB-par and you will be treated rudely. The store expects you to come pick up your money which price was low-balled. The worth of the chairs were at least $400.00 while the fine art was never priced as Deborah's Next to New would only say they will donate art pieces. No receipts were given for the artwork, with the answer "We are not a 501-C3 organization. The artwork was given to some man who owns a gallery, (where?- I do not know ) and takes it and sells it. HAD MY FURNITURE SINCE APRIL,NOW AUGUST,NO PAYMENT,CRAZY This place is a scam. I took pictures of my furniture to sell on consignment to Deborah's Next to New. They accepted and said it would sell easily. I had my furniture delivered ($89.00 to deliver) and then they gave me a low ball price they where going to sell it for once they got it , why? What am I going to do now you have the furniture. I kept calling asking if it had sold yet they said no not yet. Why don't you communicate with the sellers, answer: We don't have time, you have to call us, call us back... You have had the furniture since APRIL , where is my money. Good selection of both clothes and furnishings. I've been here 3-4 times and I think I've gotten something every time. The prices are reasonable and the quality of goods is high. We bought an interesting wall-hanging shelf with drawers which fits perfectly in the space we were shopping for and I have found several fashionable dresses and skirts in great condition for very fair prices. I also see some bad reviews about the consignment policies and, as a consigner, I feel that it is all very clear and they have you sign a short contract with a copy you can keep that explains the policies and duration of how long items stay in the store before they are subject to a donation and have no problem with people wanting to pick their stuff back up before the 60 days is up. I love finding unique items so I always check out what this place has but just be prepared for a some cold, rude service. I don't understand why these older ladies have such rude attitudes but makes it so uncomfortable to shop here. Will probably never come by again unless I have someone with me to help navigate through the mean looks and lack of customer service. I used to enjoy going in to this place (even with the luke warm customer service) until I took some things to sell there. I made an appointment and they selected some items and told me they would call me with the amounts that they would price them at in a few days. They were rushed acting and I never got a copy of my contract. I waited a week and when I went back in they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. About a month later I went in and only saw a couple of my items out and they said I only had $6 coming to me. Ok well, I guess I can go with that. Another month goes by and I check again. Nope. Haven't sold anything. I waited another 6 weeks and this time I am told that my items ended 60 days ago and they were "disposed" of. I was shocked. I didn't even argue when the lady told me to look at my contract (that I never got because they were busy" and there was no courtesy call for me to come get my stuff or anything! So, my collectible Barbie doll went to ????? I can't believe that they don't at least give a call before chucking your items. That's shameful! read more

Another one of those second hand stores with some of what you'd need plus a bunch of odd stuff you probably don't but still have fun looking at anyway lol we live close and there are a few shops like this nearby that I've been meaning to check out and review and I'm finally getting around to them! This stuff really is next to new. Some of the ugliest, weird-but-in-great-condition stuff mixed in with luxury bags and outfits. Some of the things are creepy lol but only as much as stores like this have. On the other hand, there are glass, crystal, ceramic etc stuff, full sets that you'd be really surprised with. Along with the home decor and antique furniture there, it's easy to understand the higher prices. As someone who loves buying secondhand, everything there really was priced accordingly, especially for the condition they were in. I'd bring my son back to see if there are any clothes he'd want. They seem to be good at checking out the items before they put them up for sale, which I appreciate bc that keeps people from feeling like they're kind of dumpster diving. I hope they do something mindful with the stuff they don't keep/sell. For such a big shopping area, they do a great job keeping it looking neat and clean. I saw some '80s records my dad would have loved, but I left them til I could figure out exactly what I'd do with them. Here's what I love about Deborah's and why they'll always have my business: they're very choosy about what they accept to consign. Out of style? Not taking it. Stained? Nope. Doesn't work, looks worn out? No, thank you, tho! It's a busy shop, you'll need to make an appointment to bring over a certain number of items in -- I think over 7 or 8. That's good for business and good for those of us wanting to consign -- you know your time is respected. I have visited the store over the last 10 years or so, pre-Covid, during Covid, and now post-Covid. I have purchased several items from this store in the past including a beautiful mid-century chair. This last visit I went with my toddler in his stroller to help me navigate the store as they don't have carts. Every person's experience is unique based on many factors, and sadly I did not have a positive experience during the last two visits. I remember the days when the owner, a women in her late 50s?, would be friendly and provide great customer service. Unfortunately now, there was no customer service, and I did not feel welcomed here as a brown person. My advice to the owners of the store--please step up your friendly customer service training to treat ALL of your customers with grace and courtesy (e.g., people of all colors and backgrounds). You are competing with so many online stores like Posh and eBay, etc. You will continue to lose customers like myself, a discerning buyer with a penchant for good finds at great prices. I personally prefer visiting the Assistance League of North County, Goodwill, Valley Thrift Store and OfferUp in-lieu of this store. That is of course in addition to all the on-line shopping that is so convenient, where they generally provide excellent customer service, because they know how competitive the marketplace really is. read more

They do not have an accounting system that lets you follow your merchandise. They can't tell you how much they sold it for when it left the shop and if it is actually donated to a non-profit if not sold. Literally, they have no accountability when she takes something into the shop to be sold. read more

Nice thrift shop! I passed by this store while I was driving elsewhere and decided to make a stop. They have clothing on one side of the store and furniture on the other. Great brands and they even had sales going on. I saw a cute Louis Vuitton wallet and I think she was the owner's daughter who assisted me, she was really nice about showing me stuff in the cases! Her prices are ridiculously high for used merchandise. And the merchandise is mediocre at best. You can, on occasion, find some things for a fair price but mostly it isn't worth the trouble. I've consigned here a few times but could not get a detailed accounting of what sold and for how much. So I tracked my last consignment: Clothing/shoes: 22 items (3 new); 11 sold. I was able to retrieve 4 items. Household Items: 15 (13 new - ranging from queen size bedspread to cupcake pans); 7 sold. I was able to retrieve 1 item. For the 18 items sold, my portion of the sale was $106.80. After I took home the 5 items, there were 14 items unaccounted for. I believe the unsold items used to be donated to charity, but I don't think that is the case anymore. Don't know what happens to those items now. Bottom line, it's not worth the trouble. I'd rather donate the items to charity. read more

I took quite a few items there. The girl who checked my clothing was incredibly rude. She had such a condescending attitude!! She accepted a few items (passing over items that had never been worn - some still had tags on them!!). I left there thinking I'd never take things there again. A few weeks later I needed to go see if they had any money for me from the items I'd left, so I took a few things that had been my mom's. Again, some of them still had the tags on them. I was happy to see that a different woman was working at the counter. My happiness didn't last long. I was greeted with a surly, "Are you my appointment?". No "hello" or anything of the sort. This woman was just plain RUDE. When I replied that I didn't have an appointment, she acted perturbed. She acted as if her shop was on Rodeo Drive and my clothes weren't worthy of her. She didn't accept any of them, making several sarcastic comments as she "inspected" them. I would never do business with these people again. I've been going to Debra since I was 12 years old. The owner has always been rude but her staff is nice so I continue to go back. Recently actually last month I called for an appointment because they're no longer taking walk-ins. My appointment was for today and I called this morning to make sure everything was still a go. They told me my appointment was 2 days ago and I have missed it. I explained that I live in Valley Center and work out towards the coast. I've spent the last two weeks cleaning out my closet and my husband's closet and the last two nights ironing everything. My car is so full that I can't even do my elderly mothers shopping. In fact I can't fit anything in my car right now. To take the stuff back home means carrying it back up a flight of stairs. It's about 10 to 15 loads. I am so disappointed that these people who have had my business since I was 12 years old would not make an exception for me. They have lost my business forever! read more

We brought some things in and when we put it on the counter the older lady was down right rude. She said your clothes had an odor and it looks like it has never been washed or put on hangers. I would never do business with these people. No customer service skills. They think that there stuff is top dollar and quality. She was like you go wash your clothes and put them on hangers. Your stuff has to be 2 years old or less. Oh no she didn't. There not all that. There proud of there junk!!! Beware of this place!!! Well, OK, I have never sold anything here, but this is our spot to look for any furniture we need. Such bad reviews! We have been coming here for 3 or 4 years, and love the store. I come in for one thing, and leave with all sorts of cool stuff. Yesterday, saw a hutch/curio type item. Perfect for what we needed. The gentleman we spoke to was kind and helpful. Went home to measure, and it fit. Never could buy retail. Those items are very expensive. He also gave me the name of a well respected delivery service. Grateful for that! Called today and spoke to Tammy. I think we have dealt with her in the past. Very nice lady. Paid for it over the phone, which was great since we live in Oceanside, and didn't want to drive back.
