It was humiliating to watch. The way Jerry talked to those employees was as if they were broken machines instead of human beings. What was even more disturbing was that the employees seemed completely used to it, which makes me wonder how often this happens. As a customer, I was shocked and extremely uncomfortable. No employee deserves to be treated this way, especially in front of customers. A leader should build people up, not tear them down. I informed of my preferences, and he directed me to several mattresses. I was able to lay on the mattress he suggested, and he left me without further interruption. After testing those mattresses, I agreed on a specific mattress and told Jalon I'd return to confirm my decision. I wanted to do more research on the mattress I chose. He was friendly, courteous and never any hard sales push. On my second visit, I was met by another sales rep named Floyd. I mentioned that I had made a previous visit and was interested in a specific mattress. I also wanted a base which he described as being able to elevate for sitting position while in bed. I told him I preferred a standard, stationary base which he showed me. We negotiated the price of the mattress, base, delivery and set up. All was appropriate so I made the purchase promptly with Floyd overseeing the sales process. Both Floyd and Jalon were informative, patient and helpful in my decision to purchase a mattress and base with Mattress Firm. I would recommend MF for customers who want a helpful sales crew with no sales pressure, with an extensive in-store inventory. MF has a full line of beds and required materials to compliment your best sleep conditions. I was impressed with my shopping experience at MF. I came away 100% satisfied. Jalon was the employee working there and didn't make an effort to make me feel welcome and was pretty rude the whole time. Had a condascending tone and wasn't even approachable to ask questions to. After being very difficult he was eventually reluctant to do his job and help me proceed with my order. He refused to give me my first responder discount saying that it doesn't stack in sale items, but the previous time I went in to a different location they did. When I asked him about it he said "oh the 10%? Yeah that doesn't stack". He also said in a rude tone "was that more then you wanted to spend?" As if he would have done anything to lower the price. He then spelled my address wrong and when I asked him to fix it he said "ill handle it" and urged me to leave essentially. I noticed when he was talking to other customers he was also rude. What a terrible guy, he ruined my experience here and Ill never go back to this location. Ive put thousands of dollars into mattress firm and Im debating on wether ill ever come back if I need a new mattress.

Two weeks later I had to call again about the mirror they said when the item arrive at the store you can come pick up the mirror yourself or pay them an additional charge to deliver it. The sales guy argued with me about it and said "We told you, all sales final!" Never coming back here again.

And you better not hate it, because Jerome's doesn't accept returns. We fell in love with Jerome's Bordeaux California King, but the mattress alone costs nearly $5,000.00. We started watching YouTube videos on different mattresses. We enjoyed watching Ken, Gabriel, and Pablo's videos from, "Mattress Makers," San Diego based furniture stores. Was interesting watching them open up mattresses they removed from customer's homes when delivering their new mattresses. We were really sold on their entire manufacturing process. The natural latex foams, and spring designs, and the fact they make them as soon as you order them. With a two week, give or take, delivery date. They can also customize your new bed and install different types of latex foams to make one side firmer and the other side softer. In addition to, "Mattress Makers," many good reviews all over the internet, we decided to give them a shot. We arrived at the San Marcos location just before closing time. Being mindful of whoever was working was probably wanting to lock the doors and go home to their families. I was just planning on getting some quick information, and brochures, etc. We were greeted by a very familiar face. Ken Johnson happens to belong to the same ancient and charitable men's fraternity that I do. As matter of fact, he's a Pillar and well liked and respected member of our brotherhood. Yes, we are Freemasons. Even though he was about to close up shop, my girlfriend and I were heartily and genuinely welcomed in, he loved the doors and spent an hour with us figuring out what our needs and sleeping habits were. He zeroed in on two types of medium firm beds for side sleepers like us. We were ready to purchase, mostly due to, "Mattress Makers," were half the price of our favorite Jerome's Bordeaux mattress, and Mattress Makers guaranteed we'd love it or we could return it for a $289.00 return fee, which Jerome's didn't offer. After a couple of weeks we decided the mattress wasn't for us and we became willing to pay the return fee, and purchase the more expensive one we were already familiar with. Don't get me wrong. Check them out yourself. Mattress Makers have quality offerings and many satisfied customers. We decided to keep, and pay, for the free pillows and sheets we got with the mattress we returned. Quality all around. And the service we received, was on par, from the very beginning to the end when we had to make the uncomfortable choice of asking to return a product to a good friend we purchased it from. No matter where you live in San Diego, Orange, Riverside or even LA County, go in and see Ken Johnson at the San Marcos, "Mattress Makers," showroom. Whether you're buying or returning he'll make you feel good and treat you right. Arlene and I are older, and have hip and shoulder pain exasperated if on the wrong mattress for us. We're kind of like the old nursery rhyme Princess and the Pea, where she was so sensitive she felt the pea even after many mattresses piled up.
