For myself and my…read moredaughter, I've bought the 'San Diego' candle--there are other candle scents as well named after towns/suburbs of San Diego but I like 'San Diego' the best. The owners and staff are friendly and I learned that the candles are made locally and there are no chemicals. For other gifts, I've bought the olive oil, heart-shaped soaps. Good price at $10.00-They will gift wrap for you too--the horoscope magnets make humorous gifts too. I'm a local but I find this store one of my favorites in downtown Encinitas. This is not one of those gift shops. I had to stop myself before I bought the whole store. The curation of handmade pottery, clothing, decor and other gifts was so beautiful and unique -- I haven't seen any other stores with the items they carry. Another item that stood out to me were candle holders made of heavy glass they resembled large ice cubes, almost like a paperweight. There was a matching wine holder. A better way to describe them is made of lucite glass. They would look nice on a bar or dining table. There are lots of antiques and handmade embroidered, knit, crochet towels, aprons, and placemats. We actually used the store owner, Juli, for interior design of our complete remodel. She has vast experience in furniture, space planning, and all the current design trends.
