John and Brittany at Indigenous were amazing, and I absolutely LOVE the custom desk, lateral file, and table they made me for my office. My desk is stunning. It is a piece of art. I picked out my beautiful piece of wood in the store and described exactly what I wanted. It took us a few months to get everything right. We sent back and forth pics, and I visited the workshop as well. I had very specific desires, and they met them all. This is not a bargain piece of furniture. It is a piece of functional art that you will treasure for a lifetime. The attached pics don't really do these pieces justice, but I am including them. We used every single piece of my chosen slab of Acacia. John and Brittany were both great to work with as well. I had to postpone delivery a few times, and they just worked with me. They demonstrated artistic talent, professionalism, kindness, patience...Everything you would want in a business. I highly recommend Indigenous.

In our house. The couch can recline without bumping into it.

Indigenous by La Rue My husband and I had been trying to figure out what kind of coffee table would work in front of our couch. It is a wrap-around sectional (not that hard to find a table for). However three of the seats recline, so they would bump into any table that we would put in front of it. None of the standard furniture shops we looked in had anything that would work. They all seemed to have variations of the same or similar "standard" coffee tables. We decided to walk along Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach "The Design District" and hope for the best. We walked into Indigenous by La Rue and fell in love. A picture says a thousand words, so I'll add some pictures, but here's what you need to know... 1. Along with the store on Cedros, they have a workshop in San Marcos. 2. Brittany is amazing...warm, friendly, and seriously an expert at this. You just tell her what you need and she and her husband John will create it for you and it will be stunning. You can see the other reviews on Yelp. I looked before writing this and I have to confirm what everyone said. This is really a special place and these are special, talented people to know! 3. We had our coffee table delivered. Brittany recommended someone that they often use and it worked out great. It was in our house three days later. 4. If you have some type of furniture in your head that you want, tell Brittany. She will work with you and make it happen. We LOVE our coffee table. It feels much more like a piece of art that functions as a coffee table and fills our need and so much more. We are so happy we walked into Indigenous by La Rue. Whether for custom, unique furniture in the future, or just beautiful, interesting art pieces for the wall or table or gifts, this place is REALLY special.

I was looking for a resin-wood table and saw their store. That was just the beginning of the journey for a custom table. John helped pick out the olive wood after a few discussions, laid out the table on the lumber yard floor, created modifications, saw the process of the table layout in the resin form, witnessed the pouring...I could go on and on how detailed and relaxed John and Brittany took us through to the creation. Recommend to to all for custom furniture creations and interior design.

We love our new table, it is a work of art! Great service and they custom made it in two weeks. We couldn't be happier with the final product.

Brittany and John are very friendly and really know their stuff. They were very accommodating and patient enough to let us go back to the shop twice to pick out our slab. They allowed us to be involved in every step of the process to make our tables and the pieces turned out BETTER than we expected. Everything fits perfectly!!!

This place is amazing! They have a shop on Cedros Ave in the design district ... and a big wood used in Vista... and a workshop in San Marcos. Amazing selection of imported wood for love edge tables and coffee tables etc. We love what they made us! Check them out !

The coffee table is amazing! To boot, the team was about 2x faster in getting the table ready than they initially quoted me

I recommend making a reservation. Even on a rainy day there were people coming in. I love how the place has been updated with 3 spots to sit with the bunnies. Makes it a more intimate experience. Cute concept and adorable bunnies- all the stars for the bunnies. But Samantha, who I believe is…read morethe manager, was incredibly rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily hostile. Instead of treating customers with even basic courtesy, she was annoyed that anyone was there. A simple question was met with a nasty attitude, and the interaction left us feeling completely unwelcome. I saw her speak to other customers in the same manner, so it wasn't just us. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn't any better. It was poorly made, tasted burnt and bitter, and wasn't worth finishing. For a coffee shop, that's the one thing that should be done well. There are plenty of other local cafés where you'll be treated with respect and get a much better cup of coffee. Only draw is the bunnies, who I really hope Samantha treats with more care and kindness than she does her customers; I honestly am concerned for their wellbeing after experiencing how Samantha treats people.

Lahnna (sp?) was extremely helpful in returning the item, checking with another store to locate a replacement, reserving it for me, even suggested we check the shades to make sure they're not broken as well. Upon walking in I saw two staff members talking to each other. I wandered the entire store and not once did anyone acknowledge me. Pretty surprising since there was only one other customer in the store. Another customer came in, and had to find a sales person to help her with her purchase. The other customer I saw also had to track down a sales person to ask a question. I wasn't in there very long and I saw a few things that I really liked. Some prices were reasonable and some were pretty expensive. Just depends on what you were looking for. I will probably look online to use that gift certificate unless I want to see the item in person first. It shouldn't be difficult to get help in a store or at the very least be acknowledged.
