Utter nonsense! I just paid my bill online (convenient) but had questions about a supposedly past-due balance and an $18 'third party fee.' And so I called to ask about these charges. It took me five minutes to go through their automated system and then I had to wait 15 minutes to get a callback. The gentleman who phoned me started by asking my phone number (he'd just called me?). He was very polite and tried to be helpful but couldn't really explain why there was a 'past due' charge on my bill but reassured me that it didn't mean anything and wouldn't affect my credit - that my account was fully paid. Like many customers of PGE, I think that the company should really invest in more safety and much better customer service rather than telling us in TV commercials how much they care (total lie). As evidenced by all of the feedback on this site, the customers of PG&E do not like nor trust this monopolistic organization. If the California PUC is to be effective at all, they must use their regulatory power to reign in this terrible company.
