Repeat customer here. I've come back to Carlos multiple times over the years for various cars that I needed keys made for. This time I had to get a new key fob made for my wife's 2022 Honda CR-V. Carlos was able to get me an OEM key cut and programmed for a price that was reasonable and with a quick turnaround. He's actually got a second location in San Jose on Story Road now which was where I went. I was in and out in about 20 minutes with my wife's new key. Terrible experience here. My wife went in on Friday to get a spare key fob for her Toyota Prius. They spent an hour on it but messed up the key so it wouldn't unlock the door, even though it could still start the car. Carlos told her to return on Saturday with the car and key. We arrived at 10 am, and he said it would be ready by 3 pm--five hours! At 2:30, he texted us to come pick it up, so we had to wake our 16-month-old daughter from her nap so I could drive my wife to get the key. I ran over a gnarly pothole and kept driving. I wasn't aware how much damage it had done to my car-until my car fully shut down and wouldn't start in the middle of the road. All the lights were flashing and my car wouldn't move. Poor car getting a new starter today. I wouldn't trust anyone else but Victor and Bill with my car! If you EVER need a GOOD mechanic that won't gauge you, charge you for shit you don't need, and knows how to get the job done, especially in a timely manner, then come here. Myself, Kenny, three of my neighbors and two other friends all come here because I recommend them. I've come here since they opened three years ago. I had them work on my old Corolla, had them do an inspection before I bought this newer one, they've worked on Kenny's Honda Pilot, my neighbors old Ford van... They do everything except a smog test. I've had a starter, struts, rotors, brakes, oil pan and gasket, tire rotation and balance, power steering high pressure hose, wheel alignment, brake adjustment, oil changes, new brake light and dome light so I didn't have to go to the store, check engine light, and a bunch of other stuff done between my two Corollas and the Honda Pilot. If you call ahead and tell them what you need, they will tell you to come at that time, or if they know they're working on another vehicle, they will tell you to bring it by a little later so you don't have to sit and wait all day. You can also drop your vehicle off and get it before they close. It's hard to find a trustworthy, respectful, good mechanic these days and I swear by these guys! read more

Had a referral to this place and brought my Honda Fit in for a tune up, as it's getting up there in mileage (90k); I'm always on the road doing trips, and I've been putting off the pricy maintenance the Honda dealerships would suggest when I used to change oil there (I switched to changing oil at Wal-Mart since). Anyways, I had my oil changed here since I was in the area and they recommended I switch out my oil filter and air filter, and I figured it was about time (I've never changed the oil filter and only changed the air filter once... Honda's live forever, right?). I went into smart phone mode for a while, and later on, they informed me that my brake pads were shot, and that I should get them replaced. I never realized how bad my breaks had become (I'd recently taken a trip to Mt. Whitney and did a number on my brakes on the steep roads there) until after I had new ones. Man! I can't remember the last time stoplights felt this smooth... before, I would sometimes shudder towards a stop sign when I was going a little too fast coming up to it, and always thought it was just the anti-lock brakes kicking in. So grateful for their intervention! My car had also been broken into a few months back, and the rear hatchback window had been smashed in. I had gotten that replaced, but the wiper wasn't what it used to be, and they fixed that as well. (Yes, my Fit and I have been through a lot together.) These guys were great - courteous, very knowledgeable, and straightforward - they answered all my questions, explained everything, and were never advocating extra services or being pushy. Price was also very reasonable for everything I received. I'd definitely come back and would recommend this place to my buddies! I was in the shop this morning on the recommendation of another shop. I was looking for a new catalytic converter and possibly a muffler. Having talked to Bill the day before, the shop was expecting me, however I was very impressed that word had made its way to Victor, the gentleman that ended up helping me with the work. I was in and out in about 2hrs (that's including on waiting for parts delivery) and couldn't be happier. The shop was wonderful, Victor was exceptional and I have now found the perfect mechanic! My truck's old and has a few other underlying issues, but rather than give me a laundry list of things to replace or push me in to extra work. These guys went above and beyond and worked well within my financial constraints as the work done was well below other estimates. I will absolutely be going back based on their prompt and professional service, great attitude, and customer service first approach. Victor and the guys here are awesome! I dropped by one morning after reading the phenomenal Yelp reviews to get an estimate for replacing the shocks & struts on my 05 Chevy Equinox. They quoted me about the same price as Sears, but I would rather go to a small business (since I also have a small business.) When I brought my car back this past Saturday to have the work done, I told them about a noise in the front end. They called me an hour later to say one of the axles needed replacing, and gave me an exact amount to get it done. The work was done within a couple of hours, and they made sure I saw the old parts (and how bad they were!) My husband's 91 Chevy Cavalier needed a cat converter, so we brought it by on Monday. The work was done within an hour, at a cost MUCH less than we had been quoted from other places! Victor also talked with my husband about other easy things he could do himself to help get the car to pass smog. I have referred several friends and family members to this shop, and I will continue to do so. It is so nice to know a shop that is honest, trust-worthy, and helpful! Great job guys!! read more

We have a 2005 car which by now had its door lock mechanism corroded. . We gradually had problem opening the door with the car key until the;past weekend the key got stuck in the key hole and the door can no longer be opened. We called AAA first but they did not have locksmith service locally. Then we search around the after some calls we got referred to First Choice Automative. Carlos come by within 30 minutes with his truck, telling us the car door locking mechanism/panel needs replacement, and told us this will take an hour--he will do the work right there in the parking lot--he had asked for the info about the car model adn year before he came and already had all the needed parts with him. We went home and after an hour he called us to say the work is done and we tried the keys--all work great. The price he charged was less than the locksmith who charged us a few years ago to fix the first occurrence of the problem--all that locksmith did was to lubricate the car keys/locks with WD-40, now that I recall... This was a long standing problem and we did not expect this can be fixed so quickly, if we take the car to the dealership that will probably be a major job. First Choice Aitomative did the job efficiently with reasonable price and good service. Highly recommended! read more

Carlos was great and programmed a new electronic key for our 2018 Pacifica Minivan in no time. Saved me time and money and beyond that got us the second key we needed. Would highly recommend for price, knowledge, and friendliness. We needed another key for our 2018 Pacifica. The dealers wanted to charge $250-300 for the keyfob and another $200 to program it -- almost $500! I bought a keyfob online for about $70 and had it programmed for half the cost of the dealer in about 20 minutes where dealer said it would be an hour. I purchased a keyfob online, found First Choice Automotive and called them to ask if they could it -- they said yes, since they'd done it before. Drove to their shop and Carlos came out and started right away. The 2018 Pacifica version 2 (after mid year) is trickier to program as Chrysler tries to force you to go to them to program it and buy their keys. But Carlos knew how to do it. He was quick but careful. Programmed the key, tested it, and put everything back to original state. Price was GREAT and half what dealer was asking for programming. BTW, the dealer said they were 99% sure my after market keyfob would NOT work and that they'd try to program it, but would NOT refund me if it didn't work -- I get it, but come on guys! Carlos to the rescue! Would definitely go back for other needs. read more

I bought a car at a used car dealership, and I noticed there was a rattling coming from under neath the car. Took it to a shop down the street from my house, and found out I needed a new catalytic converter. It took them almost 2 days to give me a estimate and find the parts. Decided I didn't want to wait any longer considering I needed it done ASAP so I called First Choice. They checked if the part was in stock while I was on the phone and was able to take my car right away. They told me my car would be done at 5pm, and called me at 2pm saying it was ready to get picked up! They also charged me 300$ less than the first shop I had look at it.
