I like Renson's no nonsense approach to car repairs. I've compared their quotes against other independent shops and they typically come in similar if not lower. Many non-dealer shops really do inflate their jobs, then get you with finding "more" things to fix that are hard to self detect or see, especially with older cars that have lots of mileage. Renson might not be cheap, but call it fair pricing for professional work that gets done right, no hassle. While the car is being evaluated and worked on, they always give timely calls to update me if things come up. I've had our car towed to the shop for unexpected issues and they were able to turn the car around in a day. Like with any car repair, ask a lot of questions, Renson does a good job of honest answering for anything I put to them. read more

It's been a few years since I had work done at this shop but I did start and not finish this review, so am guilty of procrastinating! I'd been to 2 other shops with my 94 Camry trying to get the problem resolved. Both of those shops got my car in an accident while test driving it. I ended up losing out at both places, besides neither one could fix the computer problem and kept getting computers from junk yards. Finally after the long diagnosis, over 2 hours at Rensons, they figured what it needed. A NEW computer, which worked fine, and if I'd only known that's what it needed, I would never have gone to the awful places I chose before Rensons. They charged more than I expected to diagnose the problem, it was in the hundreds, and then the computer out the door price was close to 2k. But it came with a guarantee, and a smile and honesty. I would choose Rensons if you want knowledge and can afford to go there? Not cheap, not even really reasonable, but they fixed my car, so got to give credit where it's due. Giving 4 star because it cost more to diagnose than 1 hour, which shouldn't have happened. Over $300 just for a diagnosis. The place is clean and they have a decent waiting room area. I might go back there, but it would depend on price. They do good work, and they tried to fix the door which had been dented and stuck closed, besides the other 2nd place also messed up the glove box, so they realigned it and it looks perfect. They really did a good job on what was handed to them. read more

I originally went to Renson Automotive when my wife's car needed a new alternator. They did a great job in a timely fashion and their prices were reasonable. During my recent visit they did the regular required maintenance on my wife's car. They were also able to do the Smog test which saved me time in going to another smog station. I do like that their customer and service areas are clean and maintained. I'm always impressed with the service area that is clean and professional looking, and somewhere I would like my cars serviced. Also, Eric and Mike are great to work with in making appointments and keeping in touch on the status of repairs. Took my Jeep SRT after reading the high amount of positive reviews and had a great experience. I took it in for a 60k maintenance but my car is also custom, so I have to be picky with mechanics. But this shop was great! I was greeted in a positive manner and the handoff was very simple. Work was done earlier than expected and the car runs very well. Price was very reasonable. Update: The owner called me back the next day to apologize about any miscommunication that took place. In my experience not a lot of folks get a call back or a chance to explain the issue they had with the service. Erik seems like he truly didn't think the cost was appropriate for the work that was done and that there was a misunderstanding somewhere down the line. He rectified the price to what he thought would be appropriate for the labor of taking the bolt out of my car which was an hours worth of work. I respect that he called me back to check in and I appreciate that I got heard in the end. Over all I really appreciate that the owner goes the extra mile to check in and I wish he was the one I got to work with from the start. I have been going to Renson for years. Bill's garage was great but new ownership fails expectations. I brought my car in because while I was doing a minor fix a bolt broke off in the engine of my car. They got me in right away and I requested that once they got the bolt out of my car to call me. I did not want a work up, I didn't want them to fix the engine problem, I just wanted the bolt out of my engine. The guy I called in the morning said 'for sure no problem', passed my job off and did not communicate to the new service advisor that I asked to be called after getting the bolt out of my car. I had to call them 4 hours later to check in but my car was done. Then with the $400 dollar bill they gave me a list of the things they ran a diagnostic check on. I did not ask for a diagnostic check I asked for them to take a bolt out and call me back. I will always pay someone for their labor and their time but I feel taken advantage of. When I ask for a service I would like that to be honored. The service I asked for was to remove a broken bolt. If I was just charged for that service that would be perfect however to run a full diagnostic takes more time then taking a bolt out of my car. I have told all my friends and neighbors that Renson was the place to go however I truly am not bringing my car back to this garage. read more

I was referred to them through Car Max. Took my sons car in to have the rear brakes checked out. They were very thorough and honest and texted me the repairs my sons car needed in order of immediate need to sometime in the future. I liked how they sent pics of the things that needed repair and felt they were very honest. I was very happy! Ended up taking my moms car here too as the water pump had a leak among other things that needed fixing. They have excellent customer service and Mike is very good at keeping you updated!! We are so happy that we were referred to Renson Automotive from our Carmax rep. Charlie was friendly and very knowledgable. We had two issues, the fan would run extra loud and the ABS lights would come on whenever we turned sharp. They were able to find a small leak that was causing fluid to get on the sensor. Especially happy that Charlie took care of the warranty we got from Carmax and was able to prove to them that it should be covered. We had a car stolen so I needed a vehicle that hadn't been driven in 2 years to be assessed and repaired to get on the road. They gave me options on repairs (fix enough to smog & sell? fix to make it a family transportation option?) with prices and timelines. They use a text app which is so convenient while I'm at work during the day and can't always take their phone calls with questions / updates. Good first experience with Renson Auto today. Was advised by a local tire chain that my vehicle was in need of front suspension work. Based on that inspection I called Renson's and worked with Mike on a quote and purchased the parts we thought would be needed. Today, a couple hours after I dropped the vehicle off, Mike called to let me know that after seeing the job, two additional bushings and labor would be needed. To minimize the added expense he offered to waive mark-up on parts and keep the added time down. He also offered to deliver the vehicle to a tire shop next door for an alignment after the repairs. When I picked the vehicle up, Owner Bill, also let me know how hard they worked to keep the cost down and encouraged me to let them do the inspection prior to any attempted repairs in the future. I didn't get my car fixed from here but based on the quote itself i would recommend staying away. A simple brake pad replacement with rotor resurfaced on a 4 year old Infiniti was quoted a price of $640. Got it done for $250. Dealer was a bit more expensive at $330. The quote was almost 2.5 times the price of other shops and double that of a dealer. Till now i thought dealers were highly price but this one takes the cake. I am sure the technicians are great and place is great but the price is certainly not. read more

Recently I called them because my 66 was doing something weird again (she's old and finicky so no surprise) and, rather than just tell me to bring it in, Bill and I chatted about what it might be, what I should try if it happens again and *then* we can talk about bringing it in if need be. solutely recommend Renson Automotive. Back story - my husband met Charlie Sept 2017 when he accompanied a friend taking a car in for a problem. Charlie did some research and found that the problem was a recall problem and told our friend to take the car back to the dealer. My husband and friend were impressed by Charlie's professionalism and said if ever I need auto repair work this is absolutely the place I would come. Today it was my husband's truck (2021 - 4 years later) that he thought needed a brake replacement. Charlie called this afternoon and said the brakes were in great shape and definitely safe. The "squeaking" sound that was heard was due to accumulated dirt. Renson's cleaned up the problematic area and happy ending. Bill and his team were the best....excellent service hands down. These are pros when it comes to auto and electronics systems. The body shops go to them for service. I had a air bag light which 2 other shops including our Nissan dealer could not figure out nor took the time to troubleshoot. The light stayed on after I had two guys replace the same seatbelt Twice and all these other previous shops told me was a fault code number and that was it Bill and his team however stepped up big time and tried 3-4 troubleshooting steps to drill down to the issue....and rule out the cables or module. It was indeed the seat belt pre-tension and took the time to explain how it should work and some of the faults/pins that can cause shorts. They worked on the seatbelt connector and tried more testing....and now the air bag light is off! Excellent work and true professionals. Thanks again team!
