Inside Austin airport: Stopped in for a quick lunch before boarding my flight home. Service with a smile, tasty food, and they even have a cute little tiki bar menu. I didn't have time for a mai tai, but the tomato Florentine soup got two thumbs up from me! read more

Ugh this place was bad, even for an airport. The grilled turkey and pesto had little of either, and was mostly greasy cheese. The menu claimed it came on a ciabata roll.... nope. Plain white bread. Nevermind ordering a decent beer-- they were all out of the interesting options and instead only had the typical watered down fare that airports offer. The greasy table tops are also an issue if you have a long sleeved shirt. This is why momma always told you not to put your elbows on the table while eating. Left with a stomach ache, and a firm resolution to never return. read more

Saxon Pub - Classic Martini - Pubs Near Me - Austin, Texas

We had a delayed flight and decided to eat somewhere in the airport. Everything was closed so we decided to try the Saxon Pub. The food was good not really anything special. However, the wings were cooked perfectly. What really made this place noteworthy was our waitress, Jessie! Absolutely one of the best waitresses I have ever had. She even chased down someone who left their bag at the table next to us. I recommend this restaurant based on her alone!! read more

One star because you're not allowed to give less, No way this place survives outside of an airport. Dirty, sticky tables and floors. Limited menu of bad bar food. And the staff couldn't care less about service. The managers of this place must not ever visit, Avoid! read more

Wow. I stopped in before my flight to get some breakfast. I waited for 10 minutes with no one waiting on me. Thinking I was confused about how to order, I stood up to ask a staff member. A tall man with dark hair in his late twenties told me to sit, and that he'd be right with me. He was very abrupt and rude, and then starting miming things at me. I said "I'm sorry, but I don't know what you are saying" - he continued to sign. I repeated that I didn't understand and he snapped at me "I'm not talking to you". At this, I grabbed my things to leave. As I left, unserved, this employee taunted me. "Oh. She's leaving! Oh OKAY! Look at this. She is leaving. Wowww" At this, I walked back in and asked the employee his name. He said "Brian" but I have my doubts. I'm sure he was lying. Other reviews say the food is bad, but I'd be willing to bet the service is even worse. Go elsewhere. read more

Saxons seems like it could be a great place to grab a beer and some food before a flight. Apparently they have live music sometimes which is pretty cool considering its in the airport and I've never seen that before. However without the live music this just another airport restaurant. Over priced and underwhelming. I waited 35 minutes for a below average $13 cheeseburger and half cooked fries. Nothing special to make it worth a 35 minute wait. I wouldn't have minded but I was one of seven people in there, so it didn't make sense to wait that long. To pass the time I drank a $6.50 Shiner that was almost cold when I got it. The music they played over the speakers was good, hard to hate classic rock. Also, the service was fine. On a final note, as I ordered my drink (after I ordered my food) I noticed what looked to be a cricket (but I don't know) crawling around behind the bar. Wish I saw that before I ordered my food. I wouldn't take this to much to heart since I've seen a few smaller ones crawling around the whole airport so it's probably normal. If you go here expect to wait a while, if there's live music this might not be a bad thing. read more

Popped in here for some booze at lunch time in Austin Airport since my flight got delayed. Bartender was friendly and enthusiastic. Every time I'd order something, she would reply with "You got it", without fail. :) That was awesome. Ordered the angus burger and wings. It's typical bar food so don't have high expectations. However, thought the wings could have been a little bit better. And after 1 hour in, there was live musical performance which I thought was really nice. Only in Austin! Overall thumbs up from me. read more

Worst place in the damn airport. Refused to change from a sitcom to Thursday Night Football. The people who worked there were rude and uncaring. They ignored us for a full ten minutes when we sat down. Awful place with awful people. Never ever giving them my service and I am frequent flyer. read more

This place is trash. After waiting 35 minutes the place cannot produce a simple hamburger. Had to leave. All the server could say was sorry. I think he forgot to put in the order. So I had paid 18.50 for a cup of potato soup to go. Bad business! read more

If I grabbed the right one, this is in the Austin airport. Unfortunetly I have been here twice out of desperation since there is not a lot of options at the airport besides food court type. The food is fine but the service is probably the worst I have ever encountered anywhere. If I didn't know better I would think that the servers were prisoners that are forced to work here. Zero sense of urgency or care. They are a bit understaffed but if they acted like they were trying a bit the tips would show it. The first time I ate here the waitress tried to talk me out of coming in. She said we close in an hour. I said well that's fine I hope to be on my plane by then. read more

Saxon Pub. Geez, this place. I thought about giving only 1 star but the server was very kind so I'll give it 2 stars. Stopped in with an 1.5 hours to spare before my flight back to JFK. Ordered some chicken wings that were inedible. I mean look at these things. I peeled off the skin so you could see how much fat was on these wings. BARELY any meat and when there was a surprisingly small morsel of something edible it was attached to fat. The service wasn't super fast but I've been to places that took longer. Still can't make up for these wings though. I've never ordered or seen anything like this before. They really need to use a different brand. I probably should have asked for it to be comped off my bill but it's an airport bar after all so I was managing my expectations. It's my own fault for being hungry at lunchtime, I suppose. I hope someone in charge sees this and does something about these wings so in the future, we can stop bad things from happening to good people. read more

No complaints on my side. This pub's 2 star review is undeserved and probably given by those who expect everything served on a silver platter. Understand that Texas industry abides by a different standard and you shouldn't expect fake smiles and an after meal foot massage from your server and you'll do fine here. Matthew and I started with a round of drinks: a corona and a bloody mary. Coronas will be coronas on good and bad days, but I was QUITE satisfied with my airport bloody. Strong, thick, & perfectly seasoned, it was just what I needed before catching a plane. We ordered some sweet potato fries, a plate of wings, and the potato soup. For the price we payed, we got plenty of food that was well prepared, and the kitchen didn't skip out on plenty of cheese and bacon on my soup. Our server, Tony, was dope. For a young guy, he took care of all ten tables in the pub real well. We're headed home, but if ever stuck in Austins airport again I wouldn't mind stopping in. read more

If you're in a moderate rush to catch a flight forget it. I thought 35 minutes would be enough. Even ordered directly from the bartender since no one was around. Lazy, slow and inept staff. Out of everything too. We had to fetch our own food off the line. It sat there forever. Had to get our own plastic ware, sauces, etc too. Food order came out wrong too. The server had to go investigate instead of just fixing it. We have a flight to catch lady. We sent it back. We didn't have time to wait, and asked for a refund which was denied because the manager Wasn't there to approve it. Bartender promised he do it over a day or two. Well see, i doubt it. Bartender was working hard but forget the waitstaff, unhelpful. I heard a server come back to our neighboring table to get the order Again because she forgot. Don't waste your time. read more

Flying out of ABIA to visit the homeland, I decided the appropriate thing to have would be the quintessentially American big burger and fries, and after walking the terminal chose the special at the Saxon Pub. It came with two thin 4oz patties instead of one thick 8oz one, Having lived in the USA a while, I have learned to tell the difference between frozen and fresh, and the former just doesn't taste good to me anymore, so I was very disappointed to find they use frozen. On the upside, the service was very quick and friendly. read more

Stopped by this bar since there is no Delta Sky Club in the Austin airport. It's now 3:15 PM and I walked in at 3. I have yet to be served by waitstaff, and at 3:10 I walked to the bar and ordered a drink. There are two tables that showed up after me, which have received menus, and have a waiter/waitress. Do not come here if you can help it. Hopefully this place is short lived and replaced by something which actually cares read more

If you want to pay 10 for a draft beer and have a low grade bulk food service burger this is the place for you.

Had the BEST time here on a Friday night! Highly recommend as a quintessential old, classic Austin experience!

*Sigh* my first bad review...I gotta say, though, it's well deserved. I asked one of the waitresses if I needed to order where she was standing for several minutes or if I needed to grab a table. She cut me off, and said "no, you need a table." She pretty much threw my menu on the table, and after looking at the menu (which only had about 4 ACTUAL breakfast options that wasn't cereal or pastries) I decided in less than a minute that I wanted a potato, egg, and cheese taco. It took her 5 minutes to come back and take my order, yet apparently all she had to do was grab the taco and hand it to me because it was pre-made. I open the wrapper of my $3.00 taco to find a puny little tortilla, barely any eggs, unflavored potatoes...and no cheese. How do you forget 1/3 of the ingredients on a PRE-MADE taco? Make the trip, and get breakfast somewhere else if you're in Bergstrom. read more

My mother and I stopped in for food before our flight and never got served. Asked a waitress after ten minutes if we could have someone come to our table and she snapped at me and said "she'll be right with you" and never even told anyone about us. I am not quite sure what we were thinking when we decided to go to an airport pub for breakfast. The coffee was self serve and was OK.. Our waitress was nice, although not terribly efficient, we had a long layover, so not an issue. I had the breakfast sandwich, which was average at best, the bacon was so thoroughly cooked that it crumbled and fell out of the sandwich with every bite. My wife had the yogurt with fruit for $7.99 (see the attached menu). We almost laughed when in came to the table (see pict). Menu said blueberries and strawberries; however, they were out of blueberries. It seems that with a little thought the establishment could easy alter the presentation and price to make this option a little more palatable. We expressed our displeasure with the dish and they gave my wife a breakfast taco as a blueberry replacement, so that was nice. Other reviews suggest the beer is good. My suggestion would be to drink here and eat elsewhere. read more

This restaurant at the austin airport is horrible. Extra slow service, they can't be bothered. Food was cold. Don't bother

I am giving this pub in the AUS airport a 3 because I witnessed some individuals receive very slow and poor service (1 star), but as a result someone had to leave for their flight before their food was ready and the staff gave the food to me. They then asked me to write a good review for them. My husband and I had to spend way longer at the airport than planned and some of the patrons and 1 bartender in particular made our time there more bearable and for that I give them a 3 despite the overall slow service. read more
