Sawtooth Luce's offers up fresh, solid fare in the middle of the town with reasonable prices and a pretty good beer/wine list. The sweet summer berry salad was huge and had massive blackberries and fresh strawberries, alongside crisp leaves. The burger was massive as well and pretty juicy, with a really hefty 1/2 lb. of patty. The skinny fries were crunchy and salty, and the finger steaks tender, crispy, yet still juicy. Entrees will run you $10-$15 and portions are generous. Nothing particularly mindblowing about this place but a great spot to grab a bite during lunch, sit outside and enjoy the views. Service was fast and attentive. read more

Food was good but service wasn't. It started with Our waiter laughing at something said in a personal conversation, screwed up our order, then he would not let us split the check. As a bonus he constantly tried to rush us. We worked in Stanley this summer and would recommend sawtooth to people. Now we recommend not going there. You don't need to be harassed at dinner. read more

Food was pretty good and service was excellent but the prices just make me feel I'm getting ripped off. Way, way overpriced for what you get. Surprised the rating for this place are so high. read more

Great seating. Solid menu. Good food. Very happy with our choice for dinner. Definitely recommend stopping here if you're in the area.

Stopped in for lunch with my business partner. Chicken sandwich was nothing to rave about. Waiter was Morgan who was attentive and nice. I realized by the time we made it back to Ketchum (70 miles) that I had left my new Oakley sunglasses on the table. I called and talked to who I believe was Shawn, the other waiter, who assured me the sunglasses were found and safe. I asked that he put my name on them and I would be back to retrieve. Realizing I couldn't make it back there any time soon I called back and talked to Morgan and asked if I could send a prepaid envelope to send them back to me. Her comment was I don't know if there is a post office and how she would be able to do that. I asked that she check and call me back; which never happened. I called back and got the other server who said he was in transit to the location and would call me back. I explained the situation and he apologized for Morgan not calling me back. He said he checked and no sunglasses were to be found. Said he would check the owner's safe and get back to me; which he did not. I drove back to Stanley a couple days ago to figure out what was up. When I spoke to the same guy I spoke to over the phone, he told me no sunglasses. I made the comment of WTF, you have a thief in your ranks. He denied it and told me I should take better care and hold onto my sunglasses as to not lose them. To say the least, I was pissed. I guess in Stanley you can do whatever the F you want with no repercussions. Beware of the shysters at Luce's. read more

Every time we travel to, or through, Stanley we like eating at Sawtooth Luce's. We got the chance this past weekend, and the food was even better than ever! We ordered a pizza, half was the "Pollo Loco" and other half the "Robert DeNiro". Both kinds were so good. That guy Earl makes a helluva pie! My hubby said the DeNiro paired with his Brother Thelonious beer was the perfect combination! We'll continue to stop at Luce's whenever we'e in the area. Great people, great food, and great beer -- what more do you need? read more

We ordered the finger steaks and fries. The steaks had absolutely no taste! Paid $14 and only ate the fries.

Exceeded expectations. Under new management and ownership. New menu. I never tried the old menu, but I look forward to going back again. We had the Chilean Sea Bass with Bok Choi and the Garbanzo Curry and Cilantro Lime Rice. Prices are reasonable. Service is cheerful and helpful. May not be a 5 in every locale but they deserve the five stars. Happy to come back when we visit Stanley. read more

We had dinner here late in the evening, when the kitchen was undoubtedly irritated that they had to cook two more burgers...so we weren't expecting much. We were wonderfully, delightfully wrong; I got a jalapeño-cheddar burger, the hubby got plain, and we were both amazed by how good they were - we agreed that they were the best burgers we'd had for years. The fries were awesome, too - skinny and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and quick; colder beer is the only thing I'd ask for. Do yourself a favor: get a burger here if you're in Stanley. read more

Just had a lovely mild yellow curry dish with shrimp, rice and naan. Food and wine delish, table service amazing. Highly recommend this place if you're in Stanley. Views of the Sawtooth mountains is breathtaking. Thank you! read more

Best meal of our entire trip! They had a curry chickpea special that was amazing. And very good beers on tap. The service was friendly and efficient too. This place is a notch above what you find in the area. read more

Delicious food. Especially the Kobe Burger. Owner served us she was so gracious. Highly recommend.

This place has terrible customer service. We also witnessed servers having an argument... Food was definitely below mediocre level. My burger came with a wilted piece of lettuce and a very old looking sad tomato slice. Fries are also frozen. Make sure to specify that you want a regular burger not the Kobe one (if you don't want Kobe) because they will just assume that you wanted the more expensive one when you won't say "not the Kobe burger". It's just their little way of scamming customers into paying more. I would never eat there again. I suggest going to Stanley Supper Club if it's open. They have very tasty food and bake awesome bread which you can take home. read more

This is our go-to place for lunch if we are in Stanley (either driving through or coming down from a backpacking trip). They have a pretty diverse menu for such a small town, and everything is made from scratch and delicious!! There is also have a decent selection of beer and wine! So stop by and sit on the patio with the mountains as your back drop and enjoy a cold beverage and yummy snack! read more

Excellent Kobe burgers!! So glad we decided to stop here for lunch. Service was great and the restaurant was clean and decorated with interesting western hunting items. Definitely worth trying! read more

Great food. Black bean burger is spicy but very good. Sweet potato fries are the best I've had!

Get the Big Bird sandwich. You won't regret it. Best sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. If I could give this a million stars I would. This sandwich? Dank. S*** slaps. Thank you and goodnight. read more

Worst menu and experiences we have had in a long time. Would not let us split the check. Food was over priced

Great dinner tonight at sawtooth Luce's. We had a cup of the special hot and sour mushroom soup, followed by the pork belly lettuce wraps and the Sawtooth bowl which was like a risotto with tons of vegetables and extremely flavorful. The lettuce wraps were wonderful also. Ate every bite. Wine pours were very generous, service was excellent. read more

Great atmosphere! Good food and friendly service. Would recommend the fried steak strips.

Just ate there. Fabulous food, service, location and beverages. Loved the curry, burgers, cider and amber.

They get all the stars! The people are great and the food is so flavorful. I got the Kobe blue cheese burger. 1/2 pound of Idaho beef cooked perfectly with that mouthwatering pink center. Mushrooms and onions pair nicely with the salty tang of the blue cheese. I have also had the mussels. There is chorizo in the dish. Duh! So goooood! read more

Great casual lunch in Stanley! Surprised by healthy menu options and the burger was top notch! Dog and kid friendly, welcoming service!

New ownership and menu; which frankly makes me sad. We enjoyed the old pizza menu with pitchers of Bass Ale. Now the menu sounds more inspired....but I've only made 1 visit. The execution is mixed: beef was well-cooked (as ordered), tasty and nicely presented. Iced tea and pasty lime soup (unknown design) were barely edible from over use of citrus in both. Prices as expected for remote location. Did I already say that I miss the old pizza & beer place.....? read more

Great service and good food, the burger was delicious! The goat cheese bruschetta app was delicious, we will be back!!

We were waited on by the owner the first night, excellent service and great pie. The second day we had a fabulous dinner. The berry salad was huge filled with fresh berries. I highly recommend this joint. Chef Chad recommended the bleu burger. One of the best burgers I've ever had. Definitely going back the next time I'm in Stanley! read more

Good food, good service, paid bill, left 15% tip. All good right? WRONG! Husband forgot card so we went back to retrieve it. I walked in the door and our server knew why I was there. Oppsie, chuckle chuckle. She tells another employee, "You have her card?" This other employee says "How was your service?" I said great, thank you! Then she calls me out on the amount of the tip I left. What the hell? I have never felt so embassed/angry? I don't even know how I feel. I would never call someone out like that. We are all doing the best we can and some times we can't afford more than a 15% tip. Disgusted to say the least. read more

The Kobe burger is the best burger I've had in years. Absolutely incredible. Great atmosphere as well with a beautiful view from the porch.

Excellent, excellent meal. My husband and I split the blue cheese burger - the beef was amazing! My kids also had great meals...my daughter had the tomato bisque off the kids menu, and it was delicious (lots of basil), and my son had a wonderful berry salad. They were really busy, so our dessert took some time. They were really apologetic and comped them all. I would highly recommend this gem in Stanley and will return whenever I'm here! read more

Best place to eat in Stanley. Have been going here for several years. Food is great and service and attitude equally as good. Most of the places in town serve similar food at a similar price - what differentiates Sawtooth Luce's is the great staff (friendly, competent) and I'd say the food is better. Win/win. This time around, I had the regular cheeseburger (not the Kobe one). It was one of the best burgers I've had. They actual SEASON their burgers, they don't just give you a big lump of meat on a bun. Every part of the burger was delicious, moist and flavorful. My companions had the curry dish and a kobe beef burger, and each were equally impressed. Here's an example of how they handle things - they were short-staffed the day we went and very busy. The waiter acknowledged us and apologized for the wait. The food took a bit longer than preferred but he kept us updated. The bottom line is a little extra wait here or there for a reason is understandable, and no big deal - the key is to simply communicate graciously with your patrons - which they did. Top-notch staff and food will keep me coming back every year, multiple times during my trip. read more
