Great service, really good burgers, amazing truffle fries, and ice-cold beer. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!

We stopped by the Roadhouse for lunch on July 6th. At first glance, it looked like a great place, and we were looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, after waiting 63 minutes for four burgers, we decided it was time to leave. To make matters worse, we were charged $19 for three iced teas. When I asked about the price, I was told they charge for refills. I've never experienced that at a restaurant like this. The building is impressive, but the service was extremely disappointing. Sadly, because of this experience, we'll be passing on this restaurant the next time we're in town. Management should have took care of the tea. Bad PR!!!! read more

Don't go here unless you have 2 hours and you want to wait on yourself. The guy "waiting" tables was too busy visiting with the patrons at the bar to come to our table to take our order or deliver our food or to apologize for ignoring us for 2 hours. Food very marginal, fish still frozen in the middle. Very frustrating experience for the cost of the food and the time wasted. Won't go there ever again. read more

Sign at the table says they are not fast food and every order is made independently great statement, but we waited over an hour for hotdog salad and fish and chips. Waiter stated they tell everybody it's 45 minutes to an hour small kitchen not super busy. Fries were great fish batter was still raw on the inside and they give them to us in it to go box...... lots of excuses never ask us if you wanted another drink would not recommend another restaurant in town should've gone there!!!!! read more

After a community event, we stop by the Roadhouse. The service was amazing! I can't speak to the motel rooms as we did not stay in them but they looked very busy. The vibe was awesome and we had a great time. I would definitely recommend for drinks, maybe stick around for some local beef! They also had live LOCAL music with Travis Hardy and The Boys. After a long drive from Glacier I stopped for the night at Challis Roadhouse. The place is remodeled and great. The food was very good, had the mushroom and Swiss chix burger. The Service was A+. Then got a room at the motel for a great price. Newly remodeled, great beds, very quiet and clean. read more

Excellent lunch here, especially the burgers and salads! I highly recommend this place when you are in town or passing through.

Stopped in on our drive to Stanley randomly when we saw the lights from the main road. SO GLAD WE DID! We had such a great experience! Chris the bartender was super welcoming and made an awesome fresh margarita! My husband and I shared wings to start. They were excellent and we get wings regularly! Nice and crispy and great flavor. I had the shrimp ceaser which was also excellent! My husbands burger was delicious and the bacon on it was crispy just the way we love it! Great atmosphere and the regulars that were there were great to meet and chat with. We got a t-shirt to represent the roadhouse when we're back in Connecticut where we're from. If your thinking of making a stop here, absolutely do it! read more

Great home town vibe! Lots of locals, shows it is the place to be. Live music is great, wonderful local talent. You could possibly run into National Rodeo Champs in the house Ruger Piva or Cade Bruno. The beef on the menu is locally sourced and fabulous, Cutler Ranch. Kris the bartender/manager is the best. We had terrible service. Would not recommend this place. Sat for at least 30 minutes before any one even acknowledged we were there. Took another 20 minutes to get drinks and another 30 minutes to get food. Got there at 6 and finished at 8 as they were closing. read more

I like the little hometown hangout! Especially in the summer when the window by the bar is open & you can sit at the picnic table outside! Their French dip is outta this world! Never had a bad meal here! I recommend! read more

We were very disappointed with our food and service. Spent $60. We ordered 3 different meals. Ground beef in the nachos were overcooked. I didn't even put a dent in the food. You can go to the grocery store down the road and probably make better ones. The French dip was dry. The hamburger meat was dry. And the fries were barely cooked. The bread was stale. So unfortunate because we gave this place a chance. Still paid because we aren't those kind of people but overall the beer was the best thing about our visit here. read more

Our group of 6 stayed in Challis on the 19th heard Challis Roadhouse had good food. We arrived the young waitress was very nice and got our drink order in quickly. Not sure if there system butt we waited for over 15 minutes for just our drinks! Bartender at this time had 3 guys at bar!! One of the guys finally went up to bar to get beer. The gal told him if he wanted drinks quick to come up to bar!!! She was something else! We ll never stop again. Dinner came out half way thru our salads showed up, no silverware had to ask for it. Ordered steak Nd shrimp they forgot the shrimp. People were coming in and walking out. Dirty tables horrible service. read more

Went in about supper time. There were other customers but did not seem overly busy. Sat down and waited for about five minutes. So I walked up and grabbed menus for our table. Another 13 minutes went by. Servers were walking around and totally ignoring us. Zero acknowledgment. So I got up and took a leak. Came back and my family was standing up and said let's leave. We're driving through ans didn't know where to stop in this town and so glad we stopped here. The waitress was fantastic and super helpful and the food was out of sight. We ordered the burgers, Marie Garlic (holy shit good) and the Rodeo (fantastic). The cowboy caviar was great and super refreshing and everything was just spot on. Really enjoyed our visit here while staying in town. Excellent service despite a busy night with a band. The servers were visibly hustling and managed to keep our beer glasses full. Good beer selection. Solid food selection with good salads and burgers. I can see how the service could slow if the place was at capacity but we did not experience this at all. Very unsatisfied with service and the food. Only good thing with the whole dinner was the salad. Was there with 2 other adults and 2 kids. All 3 of us adults ordered the 8 ounce sirloin steak which was the special. The steak tasted as if there were no spices put on when cooked and was not tasty at all. The baked potato was cold also. Not impressed at all. Definitely not the place that it used to be when it was the challis lodge. Very sad. read more
