I was hosting a work function and had to feed about 40 people. One of my coworkers suggested SS. I'd never had them & thought why not, it's something different. I ordered the original chicken sliders and the classic burger sliders with a tray of chicken fingers. I liked that they were in a couple of large boxes for an easy set up. They looked and smelled delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. To my surprise, I preferred the burgers over the chicken. Tried this place for the first time. My son has been here before and was excited. One of the other customers remarked, "yesterday was my first time here, the chicken tenders were the best ever which is why I'm back today." With that endorsement how could I pass that up. My son and I both had the savvy mixup value meal which came with a slider of choice and 2 tenders and fries. He had the burger and boom sauce for his tenders and regular fries. I had the cod with tartar sauce and buffalo sauce for my tenders. Also had the house seasoning on the fries which was sold as salt, pepper and garlic seasoning. Meals came with a drink too. We sat down and waited a very reasonable wait before our food was brought to us. It was all freshly made and scalding hot. Everything tasted good, though I found the tenders very good but not "come back tomorrow" good. Personally they were much different than frozen stuff that we serve at home. I'd prefer those "secret eleven herbs and spices" that are finger licking good. The seasoning on the house fries was also very good, reminding me of the Red Robin seasoning. The boom sauce was alright and the wing sauce was good enough; though I should have asked for ranch too. I will say the sweet tea has a weird aftertaste like it's trying to be a fruit flavored tea. Ordered ahead and was told the food should take about 5 minutes; it was packaged and piping hot when I picked it up. My thoughts on the food: the slider burger was overcooked and dry, so wouldn't order that again. The fries are crinkle cut, which I love, but these were undercooked. Giving them a generous 4 stars after our initial visit today; it was more like 3-3.5 stars. We ordered online which was easy, and then the food was ready when we arrived, we just went up to the counter to get it. The head cashier was wearing his mask pretty much below his mouth which was kinda off-putting. (In that case, why even bother...) For the combos they give you a cup and it's self-serve. They had some "bougie" options like a fancy root beer I've seen before, black cherry soda with tarragon, and cream soda. There's also sweet tea and lemonade. I had the black cherry soda and it was pretty good. For our food, we ordered: -My order: "Savvy Switch" combo, where you can choose two different sliders. I got the fried chicken, which was just okay, and the Mediterranean grilled chicken, which was delicious - it had real toum (garlic) on it. I also upgraded to onion rings which were decent, but Portillo's are better. -His order: Same Savvy Switch combo, but with fries, 1 fried chicken slider, 1 big burger one, and a 3rd added one ($1.99 upcharge), Beef Kabob (basically the Mediterranean chicken one but with a burger). Overall my favorite things were the Mediterranean chicken slider and the black cherry soda. The fries kinda had a weird aftertaste for some reason, and the onion rings were good but kinda bready, if that makes sense. Someone asked me if they were hand-dipped, and I believe they were. I had heard of this place before, but only got a chance to visit on the way back home from the mall... they touted their famous chicken tenders, which made me think of my favorite chain to get chicken tenders (a chain that doesn't have a place in Michigan) so I decided to give it a try. One of the guys there (maybe an owner?) asked if it was my first time, I told him it was and he said he'd "see me tomorrow" because the food was so good he knew I'd be back... Was he right? Not really, but the food was pretty good. The chicken fingers were large, hot, with decent seasoning... the only issue was you can't have a good chicken finger without a good sauce. The honey mustard was "Ken's" brand, the other sauce was a sweet chili and neither complimented the fingers well. The garlic toast was fine but other places do it better with a thicker Texas toast. The fries were seasoned with salt pepper n garlic, I'd get em plain if I had to do it again. The price was on par with my favorite chicken finger chain, but the taste was a notch below. I chose the house seasoning on the fries and they were really good too. The chicken tenders are pretty soft on the inside and the initial bite has a little bit of a sweet taste to give it a little bit of a different flavor than your usual chicken tender. I got the iced tea because the lemonade didn't taste as good. Lemonade rating sliding scale goes from bathroom cleaner flavor to chick fil-a flavor. I would say the lemonade was more toward the bathroom cleaner style. Service was fast and efficient. There were a lot of people coming in and out and I didn't wait much. I parked next to the parking lot by the bagel place and walked over in case there weren't enough spots. I would come back again to try the sliders. read more

Still just ok, even after a few new managers. So dinner plans fell thru and I've been wanting to give savvy sliders another shot. The parking lot and interior looked like they had a minor makeover and were very clean. The staff was extremely attentive and the food was served hot and shockingly fast. This worried me because the last time I ate here one of my grilled chickens was raw in the middle. This time I'm happy to say both slider boxes were accurate. One thing that irked me was the spicy grilled chicken is no longer on the menu. Also they no longer offer 3 sliders for $10 and their menu has some odd-ball items now. Crab cake sliders seriously? This joint is drifting further from real food and focusing on fried food. A pity. For all the little extras they charge for now, along with the 3% surcharge for using a credit card.. 2 box meals came out to $24 pre-tip. That's not a bad value, but not a great one either. Everything about this place is still middle-of-the-road and nothing really stood out as exceptional except for the speed of service. Was hoping for better, but maybe they're still trying to situate themselves in the old Starbucks location. We ordered slider combos for the five of us (class burger, chicken tenders, and fries combos for all). We placed the order online so we could easily log the differences that each one of us requested for our burgers and what kind of sauce we wanted for the chicken tenders. Some burgers had no cheese, etc. and some chicken tenders had ranch or BBQ sauce. Upon picking up the order from the location, we got all of our boxes but didn't want to make a scene in the store and open each one and unwrap each burger, so we put them in the bag and got our drinks and left. The drink caddies are awful by the way. Incredibly flimsy and the drinks don't fit in them, so you need to support it with the bottom of your hand, thus, needing to make multiple trips to the car. When we got home and opened and disrupted the boxes of food, it seemed like the person packing the boxes wasn't even looking at the order of what went in what box. Everything was mixed up. Luckily it was all there, but it was frustrating needing to pass around what everyone had or when someone took a bite into their burger, realized they had the wrong one. read more

The first time I came was when they had just opened up, and I got a voucher for being one of the first customers which was so nice. We learned that you NEED TO GET THE SAUCE!! Seriously it completes the meal!!! So I recommend the tenders of course, and get it with the original savvy sauce and then THE RANCH too! It's soooo good, seriously you can dip anything in it and it'll be amazing! My husband just went in to order for me a few mins ago and said the service was amazing. I was at the Southfield location on Friday when the manager told me that this location just opened up. I work near the Southfield location and love the food. I live at 13 and Crooks, so I was excited to have a place close to my house. I was out and about and needed to get some food and decided I would check it out. I wasn't sure exactly where it was at other than Big Beaver Rd and Crooks. As I got closer, I saw the big grand opening balloon and the signs. This place looks fantastic on the outside. The inside looks great. I like that you can see into the kitchen when you are ordering your food. I also love that they have outdoor seating. They were pretty busy when I got there; I ended up ordering the four-pack--two of the Savvy Classic and two of Home Style Fried Chicken Sliders. Even tho they were busy, I still got my food pretty quickly. I got home and dove into my food same great start as the Southfield location. read more

We had high hopes for this place when we saw the sign go up on the former Starbucks location, although we were confused when that sign highlighted the chicken fingers. We love a good slider, so we gave it a try. Our reaction: meh. There was really nothing notable about the food...there are a lot of better sliders around here. They are a little pricy but always a good option- we called them to see if they could do a catering tray for us last minute and they had it done in under an hour! Went here with my family the kid wanted noodles so we went somewhere else for her but my hubby and I had Savvy. He had the fish sliders and fries and i had the chicken tenders, both were solid. Food was warm and came out quickly staff was nice. The only thing about this restaurant is they have a lot to choose from so I was a little lost looking at the menu. I didn't know if they had lemonade or tea because I didn't see it on the menu, I should've asked because the people after us had a half and half of lemonade and tea drink. This is my second time coming here since they have opened. They have great food but have messed up my order both times ! I ordered the Mediterranean grilled chicken sliders but no lettuce, tomato, onion or pickles, but wanted to add mayo and garlic sauce. To my surprise when I opened all 7 they are all loaded with everything on them. Also I ordered a side of fries with seasoning and a side of ranch. When I open the box there is no seasoning and they gave me ketchup instead of ranch, but yet still charged me. I'm sorry to say they are off to a bad start ! Sleek signage, modern appearance they're everything that a slider place.... isn't. Sceptic that I am I wheeled into the former Starbucks location on Big Beaver to give it a try. Busy but not mobbed on a sunny lunchtime Tuesday I ventured in. You order at the counter and they take your name. Quick but not super quick service seemed to move the customers along pretty fast. The menu seems more Red Robin takeout with the sliders being smallish regular hamburgers on Hawaiian roll-ish buns. Coming with lettuce, tomato, mayo etc etc it didn't look like the sliders I've had.I mean... tomato? It was luke warm with the cheese either not melted or never melted. Some burger consultant seems to have advised burger places to just throw the cheese on after. Don't its not how you do a cheeseburger. The cheese is melted on the burger, duh. Fries can come coated or non, I ordered for non because...of course! They were under done but had potential. And drinks are self service with a weird selection. Cherry soda with tarragon!?!. Creme soda with ..... agave. WTF? In a "slider" place? Turn down the hipster meter please . Chicken in the menu looked good. Maybe next time. So all in all a work in progress burger place but sliders, not like I know them. Stick to the local joints and you'll get the real deal. Hunter House is only about a mile away! The food was just okay. There are better options for hamburgers, but their chicken was delicious. We ordered carryout from their website: pack of 6 sliders (half of them were homestyle fried chicken and the other half were classic (beef)) and we got the default toppings on them. We also purchased a large order of French fries and half a pound of chicken tenders. The beef in the sliders had great flavor-cooked to a nice medium well, which we expect to have when we order sliders. But, the toppings were basically useless. They used shredded iceberg lettuce, which was wilted with a gross texture from the heat of the meat. What a waste of a topping! It also had mayo, tomato, American cheese, and pickles. The pickles and mayo were pretty good, but the tomato was not fully ripe and it was lacking freshness. The American cheese was okay. My recommendation is to order a classic (beef) slider with red onions, pickles and mustard. Nothing else! No cheese, lettuce, tomato, or mayo. They use great buns for both the homestyle fried chicken sliders and for the classic (beef) sliders. They were somewhere between a brioche bun and a pretzel bun. They had great texture with a little sweetness and they were a nice brown color. Their chicken tenders were the same chicken that was used on the homestyle fried chicken sandwiches. The sandwiches came with mayo, lettuce and pickles. My recommendation is to just get mayo and pickles. The chicken was super tasty! It had a great crunch, nice moist texture and plenty of flavor. The dipping sauce for the chicken tenders was okay-it had some tang to it, but that was all. Based on my experience, chicken is definitely the preferred option over beef at Savvy Sliders. The fries were nice and crispy-great texture and good flavor. We put them under the broiler for about five minutes when we got home-so good! The biggest issues we had were at the restaurant. Our food was ready before we arrived, but we still had to wait ten minutes to get it. There was a long line of people waiting in their lobby and some of them had to wait outside. I'm not sure why that took so long, but it was frustrating considering that we had already paid for our order through their website. There were two people working out front-one person working the cash register and one person answering the phones, but there were a dozen or so people going in and out of the kitchen.
