I've been seeing raving reviews about this place. This made me want to try it. I came in maybe an hour or two hours before close. The cashier was kind. The restaurant was clean. There was a bit of a wait, but there were other people ahead of me. I ordered two burgers and a fry. My mom enjoyed the fries. The hamburgers were small compared to the bun and it had too much condiments. This made the burger soggy.

New spot that opened up in Ferndale. Every time I drive by there's always people a lot of people inside. The burger was perfectly done and the French fries had a peppery taste to it. All very good. If you want to grab a quick bite for a good price, I recommend this spot.

Amazing food the service was great clean environment. I just wanted to state as a cook. Going to a place and being able to taste how clean the fryers are. No exponential grease on the burger shows they clean the grill consistently. Huge props.

So my friend and I decided to try this new spot because i had no idea what wild style fries were. Spoiler alert, they are amazing. I would compare them to In and outs animal style but ( in my opinion) better. They have a 2 for 1 special so get them while it last!!

It's a pretty patty and a great tasting one too. It's not heavy or greasy...it's just right. The fries are peppery in a really good way. Also the service was amazing.

The burger and fries are well seasoned and super tasty! Perhaps they could pack the takeout in paper trays in a paper bag because the styrofoam container causes the food to steam and become soggy.

Single cheese burger and fries combo. Drink not pictured.

Nasty burger and the fries and whatever sauce they had were gross. I didn't even finish the food.

No frills but good food. It's just what the area needs. Solid burger for an affordable price and they are open late. I will be a regular.

Walking in, there was very limited seating and about an hour wait, which clearly showed how popular this spot is. Thankfully, the hostess told us about their basement bar area where you can grab drinks and snacks while waiting. The downstairs area had such a cool speakeasy vibe dark ambiance, vinyl music playing, and honestly the perfect date night atmosphere. The drinks were REALLY good, and you can also order appetizers down there. Once we made it upstairs, we grabbed bar seating and talked to a few people around us who all said this was their favorite spot. Our bartender was amazing -- super attentive, explained the menu well, and gave great recommendations. We ordered the wings (perfectly seasoned and so good) and the chicken sandwich with buffalo added for a little spice... absolutely delicious. I also tried the pistachio martini, and wow definitely one of my favorite drinks I've had in a while. Overall, such a great experience from the atmosphere to the food and service. I'll definitely be back, and I've already been telling all my friends about this place!

The space is adorable and welcoming and the staff were just as welcoming and helpful to us, as first-timers. Public House has an extensive vegan menu that they are pretty proud of. We however opted for the regular Pastrami Hash and Chicken & Waffles. Both were delightful from taste to texture! The chicken was fried and seasoned to perfection. The fresh veggies and amazing mornay sauce made the pastrami dish my personal favorite. We look forward to trying them intentionally very soon!

In fact, several of my friends traveled to the area specifically to visit Public House. Sadly, the menu has changed and there are no only three items on the menu for Vegans. The items are the Strawberry Shortcake, which was a prior favorite, but has been reduced in its appeal by the omission of the vegan cream that topped it off and the other items are a Burrito Bowl, which is available anywhere you go through the addition and deduction of conventional food items, and the Chik n waffle. This reduced menu of three items compared to the 24 + conventional items on the menu is extremely disappointing. Service wise the greeting at the front door was very slow when there was only one other patron in front of us. It literally took 10 minutes to be greeted and the restaurant was not full compared to its previous more appealing times for Vegans where you really did have to wait. The staff was over all very friendly and accommodating. You couldn't ask for a nice group of people. And the diversity of the team is amazing....it is noticed and valued! The strawberry shortcake without the whip cream is good but the vegan whipped cream makes a difference and was notably missing. The Bloody Mary was pretty good. Overall...it's a ok place for Vegans but no longer a great place us.

Waited a few minutes, but was ready around the time I requested. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (with Piedmontese beef) and had fries and onion rings. I'll start with the good. The fries were very good. Crispy and salted, they definitely hit the spot. The onion rings were the best I've had. Hearty batter with a perfect crunch. Absolutely delightful and I could have eaten a million of them. Onto the burger. First of all, there was no bacon. If you're charging over $3 for bacon, gotta make sure it makes it on the burger. I also ordered the bun toasted; it was not. Good start. The patty had zero flavor. No seasoning could be detected. The only redeeming part was the burnt onion which I added. They really were burnt but had nice flavor. I'd give the burger a D rating. For $25, it really was a giant disappointment and eff you. Can't say I'm wanting to return. Such a shame. What used to be one of my favorites is now a lowlight. 2 stars because of the sides.
