Love love savory bake house everything that comes out of this bakery is a work of art! No soggy bottoms here! Flavors are spot on. Tip: follow them on instagram and facebook to keep up with their opening times and rotating menu of goodies. Be ready to wait in line but Friday or Sunday before 10am is not that bad!

Popular spot with quick service but they sell out too quickly! Fun to try so many delicious things and in a fun neighborhood to explore.

A hidden gem in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis. I feel like only the locals and some instagram foodies know about this special bakery. Open only a few days a week come early and be prepared to wait in line to order tasty treats savory and sweet at the cute little window by Max. Reminds me of a little European bakery with the vibe ,menu is posted at the front but it's best to check out their social media pages day of for updates in case what you want is sold out ! Haven't had anything bad here yet, wish it was closer so I could visit more often

I had been going every other week since a year ago. I usually wake up early and arrive before they open, as people like to go and line up early, and a lot of stuff gets sold out relatively quickly. My favorite is the Polish Roll; and it's a very buttery roll/bun with a very savory and umami filling, and the filling inside is very generous. Every day, they offer various GF items, especially cakes. You can order ahead whole cakes for special occasions, and they are highly affordable.

Everything I have tried has always been a 10/10. This place is amazing and their quiche crust is to die for. Nothing is ever too salty, or too sweet- always just right. Check their instagram before going! You must try!!

So this review is for the bacon & leek scone I had both days this weekend. Sure I could write something about the convenience of this place as it is close to my home and when I walk up there with my pooch, they offer custom made treats for that same pooch of mine who now knows the routine; - sit patiently - wait for the customers in front to get out of the way - tail does small wag as he gets spoken to - gets treat - devours I could even write about the many quiche that are made fresh each day or the pies, oh those tasty pot pies that are filled with with all sorts of goodness that warm you up. Alfredo to curry to Wellington to something else. Always changing, always tasty. No, I'm writing about that scone. And it's not one of the many other scones or cookies or tarts that they make that when you eat, you eat in small delicate bites so you can extend the experience just a bit longer. And one last clarification, this is not about that churro cream puff I had the previous weekend that when I ate it, my eyes would close and savor that wonderful filling. No, it's about that bacon & leek scone. It's subtle bacon and salt mixed in the pastry was the perfect blend of goodness. And that first one I had on Saturday that I had that was still warm? Oh man! "I should've bought two!" I thought, as I made my walk home down the sidewalk nibbling away at my new discovery. So yesterday I went back hoping they had more and they did! But they only had one up front on their little wood trays that fit in so well with the whole motif of the place. "You have any more in back?" I hopefully asked and with a response of "three more" the decision was made to clean them out. So I apologize to the people behind me in case you wanted one but I bought the last four. Be thankful is all I ask because I may have saved you from an addiction as I think I have become a bacon & leek scone junkie.

    Just gobbled this up!

Definitely go here! NOW! This is a tiny local bakery, but it's full of amazing savory and sweet treats. I even went in the afternoon, when things were pretty picked over, and found a great lunch. I prefer savory to sweet, so this is my new jam! The man at the counter was helpful and convincing of what would be the best choice for me. I ordered a veggie curry pie and a gluten free salted caramel peanut chocolate torte. (check out my pics). While I was waiting for the pie to be heated, I figured I better try a date ball. Who doesn't like balls?! I bit into it and I immediately noticed a snap, crackle and pop in my mouth. I am not going to ruin it for you, but there was an amazing secret ingredient that added another dimension to this tasty ball. The adorable man at the counter shared it was the owners grandmother's recipe. The veggie pie had just the right amount of curry, which was not too overpowering. They were also seasoned well and seemed roasted. The best part was the crust was not thick, therefore did not take over the pie with a gummy texture. The torte was good, but I cant wait to try the cherry almond scone or sweet potato chocolate sweetbread. Let this place blow your mind!

I attended solo but luckily really liked the group I was assigned to. We wanted everyone to work on things they enjoy and allowed everyone to try some parts of the important tasks (making pasta and pastry dough). Your enjoyment might really depend on what your group is like. You can buy wine and beer to drink while you take the class, and those were reasonably priced I thought! $9 for a glass of wine and I think $8 for beer. The class was chaotic since we were making three courses and things needed to be done at different times, but the chaos felt like how it really is in a kitchen making multi course menus, so that didn't bother me! The assistants were great and helped us stay on track and helped if we were struggling with anything. I can't say I learned much from the class (which is why I only gave 4 stars), but I sure had a lot of fun!

The only downside or thing to know is that this location will not accept Spyhouse giftcards because it is part of the hotel. I came wanting to use one, so this was a bummer but I understand and the barista was very apologetic. As a side note about the business, it's impossible to check your giftcard balance online. So while I'd like to use my giftcard, I'm unsure if I will realistically be able to soon!
