Wonderful Scallop risotto, with fire roasted peppers, sweet corn, crispy pancetta, and parmigiano.
    Steve M.

We went to SAVI Cucina + Wine bar to enjoy their Feast of the Seven Fishes, which I always wanted to experience but never had an opportunity before now. There were a few amazing dishes, some good dishes, 1 miss, and 1 that was just awful. The service was super friendly, but the timing was off a tad. We waited a good bit of time between the 1st and 2nd course, but then the 3rd course came out before we had 2 bites of the 2nd. After that the timing was much better. The restaurant itself is large and nice, but does not give off a cozy vibe, and we felt too close to our neighbors. I wasn't sure if I should do the meal review from good to bad dish, or by course, but decided it makes sense to the latter Starting with the Aperitivo course, we both got the Scallop crudo. The wife and I disagreed on this dish, as I enjoyed the aroma of and taste of the fried capers, and thought lemon added a nice touch of acid. However, I thought the dish needed either more capers or salt as the sauce was bland and there were not enough capers to make up for it. For the Antipasti I had the Seafood Arancini which was a crispy, golden Italian rice balls consisting of a mix of lump crab meat, Miss Paula shrimp (which upon looking up is from the seafood market at Tarvin Seafood), along with scallops, mascarpone, and creme fraiche aioli. This was an OK dish The wife ordered the Sicilian Octopus, with summer squash, zucchini, smoked pecan romesco. Here is another dish we disagreed on, but only because my wife has decided she does not like Octopus. I on the other hand loved it and thought the dish was great. The meat was tender and had a great char flavor. There were two sauces, one was a romesco and the was green (I think pesto) that the wife and I both really enjoyed. For the Zuppa y insalata course I had the Lobster bisque with sherry cream, crispy focaccia crouton. I took the 1st bite and immediately knew it was good; however, I had to send it back because it was served room temperature at best. Upon having it reheated, I thought this was easily one of the best Lobster bisques ever. The flavors were bold and spicy, but not so bold that I could not taste the lobster. The wife ordered the Seafood salad. Another dish with Miss Paula shrimp, bay scallops and pieces of calamari, supposedly topped with lemon herb vinaigrette. We both agreed this dish was bland, bland, followed by more blandness. There was no salt, no acid from the Lemon Vinaigrette and not a whiff of spice or taste from the herbs. It was just Scallops, a few pieces of calamari and some thinly sliced shrimp with zero flavor. For the Secondo course I had the Scallop risotto, with fire roasted peppers, sweet corn, crispy pancetta, and parmigiano. Here we go another amazing dish. The Scallops were cooked perfectly, and the risotto was loaded with flavor. The fire roasted peppers with sweet corn just added extra pop. The dish was made more pleasing to the eye with a ring of green sauce halfway around the risotto and the other half with a red sauce. There was so much flavor in the risotto, I could not tell if it added flavor or not, but it was clearly added to the visual aspect. Here is where the meal really took a hit as the wife ordered the Grilled branzino mediterranean sea bass, with charred broccolini, potatoes, artichokes, fresh herb oil, yellow tomato vinaigrette. When I took a small bite my first reaction was OH NO, I don't think she is going to like this. When I took a second bite, I realized it was uneatable. The skin on the fish was a bit tough and Slimy making it hard to cut. The fish was covered in a sauce that was just gross and not eatable. The only good thing about this dish was the charred broccolini which we both agreed was good. After that Sea Bass we were both done and decided to get the Dolce course to go. I ordered the Tiramisu cheesecake which we both enjoyed when we got home. The wife's Limoncello cake which was an olive oil cake soaked in limoncello, sweet cranberries with orange marmalade, was OK but neither of us would order again. So here we are with a tale of two dinners experience. Except for the 1st dish, we both thought everything I ordered was really good, but on the other hand, the wife didn't like anything she ordered, while I really loved the octopus, thought her Antipasti And Dolce dishes were just OK, the Seafood salad was tasteless, and the Sea Bass was just awful.

An easy place to stop if you are near the town center and would Like quality food. Pricing is equivalent to fine dining for the downtown Charleston competition so know that going in. Service was great and we were promptly seated. We had salads before a concert out on IOP.

I've dined at SAVI a few times now, and it's always good . Located in Towne Centre, it may blend into the strip mall setting from the outside but once you step inside, the atmosphere completely transforms. Warm, inviting, and elevated without being pretentious. I've sat both at the bar and in the main dining area, and the service is consistently excellent every time , attentive, friendly, and polished. Now, let's talk about the must-order dish that deserves its own spotlight: PROSCIUTTO + BURRATA 24-month aged prosciutto and Italian-imported Artigiana burrata , need I say more? Do yourself a favor and ask for a side of balsamic glaze to drizzle over the burrata for an extra touch of magic. Our appetizer also came with warm focaccia and fig jam, which is absolutely divine!! Pro tip: make yourself a little prosciutto-burrata sandwich using the focaccia , it's an amazing flavor experience ! Honestly, I could make a meal out of this appetizer alone. It's the standout star of the menu and an absolute must order every single time!

This place was huge. The food was delicious. I really liked my steak salad. The seating arrangements were strange but the staff service was only ok. Don't be in a rush if you come here.

My favorite pasta dish is any sort of pasta with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe. It is the reason why I chose to make a reservation for my family at this restaurant recently on a Saturday night. Their orecchiette barese sounded perfect: homemade pasta, Italian sausage, sautéed broccoli rabe, garlic, EVOO and chili flakes. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. It was very bland, almost flavorless. I can't exactly pinpoint where it went wrong. Just not enough punch. My husband had the eggplant parmigiana and he gave his 3 out of 5 stars as well. Good, but not great. I thought the sauce tasted very sweet, My son loved the pizza. It was a highlight. I tried a piece and thought it was delicious as well. I would definitely come back for the pizza. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very good. The restaurant is beautiful inside. My only pet peeve: no free basket of bread. We had to pay for an order of focaccia. I'm glad we did order it though because it was quite tasty and we were hungry.

SAVI Cucina + Wine Bar is the jewel of Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. I came in on a weeknight looking for something to eat and as Savi happened to be there and quiet at that moment I went in and sat at the bar. At first I felt a bit neglected. I sat there uncertain as the bartender and another employee chatted up a couple of regulars who seemed to have recently returned from a vacation. This feeling passed when the conversation had a natural conclusion and the bartender came over and gave me a menu and a rundown of what was delicious. I opted for the caesar salad with the addition of shrimp and wow! It was an incredible salad with an amazing amount of shrimp. Like there has been no restaurant before or since that was so generous with their shrimp portions. The lettuce was crispy and the lemon brighten it up, it was so fresh, so delicious, so crunchy I found I lost myself to each bite. I simply did not notice how full the bar became between my first and nearly last bite until another customer broke my reverie by snapping at a new bartender for a minor mistake. The new bartender confessed his newness and apologized for his misinformation. I thanked them profusely for the delicious dinner, marveled at the full bar, paid, and took my leave. Out of all the restaurants in that area of Mount Pleasant Savi is the best. Highly recommend!!

Came for lunch in a Saturday after a movie. We did not have reservations but it was pretty empty. One table of 8 and 2 at the bar. Started with the chopped Italian. It comes with salami but put that in the side for my son to keep it vegetarian for me. The dressing was different than regular Italian. Almost had a mustard lemon flavor but it was good. Husband had the meatballs that came in a little cast iron skillet with focaccia bread. He loved it. We all split the margarita pizza and I loved it. Crunchy crust, salty cheese and just the right amount of sauce. Reminded me of a "Round" or typical NYC take out pizza. Sav Blanc came in two different pour size options. Nice place for family dinner, groups, date night. Good size bar with plenty of seats. Perfect after a movie, right across the lot or after a day of shopping

Was really looking forward to trying this place since a few friends recommended it, but the food and the vibe just missed for me. Service was actually great. Our server noticed we tried the mushrooms and then did not touch them, asked if something was up, and she comped them which I appreciated. Salads were soggy, mushrooms were overcooked, and the whole time I felt like I was sitting right on top of everyone around us since the booths are packed in so tight. Not really the dinner I was hoping for

Pizza - really undercooked on the bottom.

I've heard so much about this place so we finally decided to give it a try. It was ok. A bit costly for lunch. Service was inconsistent. Food was ok. Sat outside which was nice but having to ask repeatedly for water, silverware, salad dressing cause mine didn't come with any was a bit annoying.

Loved our girls night at Savi! We came on a Wednesday for their Wine Down Wednesday 25% off bottles of wine deal and stayed until we were full of pasta. Each of us really enjoyed our pasta dishes and the portions were large enough to fill up on and to take leftovers home. Our waiter was very kind and attentive and offered great suggestions for wine and meal pairing. Always easy to find parking here with the huge parking lot around Mt P Town Center.

Olives and The Light Espresso Martini! Perfect little appetizer.

This place was very delicious and one of the best happy hour deals I've had here! Everything was fresh and flavorful. Eric our server was very sweet! We will be back for more!

Stumbled upon this place for lunch on a Thursday w BFF. We were told by the server that every thing is made in-house, Super tasty. Visually, its a great space. I felt like I was on a mini-vacation (definitely not in Summerville anymore). Started with crispy artichokes - tiny, deliciously and lightly fired petals - so good. Who knew I liked parley aioli. I went outside of my safe zone and ordered the Sausage & Burrata. SO excellent - the sausage was delicious. I will be re-ordering that soon. Its served in one size and it was certainly big enough to share with 1 or 2 others. BFF has the orecchiette - so good. But really, here is the rub. We ordered the fresh focaccia and I have never had such good focaccia. It stood about 2" tall, fresh, great olive oil. With the app and entrees, it ran us about $30, but worth it and we had to-go that would be another full meal.

I love that they have happy hour every single day from 3 to 6 PM! Make sure you sit at the bar as that's the only place that this happy hour is served though. The meatballs are delicious and very flavorful and you can choose how many you'd like to order as only one comes per order. Crispy artichokes were smaller than expected, and a little bit too lemony with the sauce. The wine wines are the price of a 5 ounce glass but the pour of an 8.5 ounce so definitely a discount.

We came in on a Friday around 5:45pm and things were already pretty busy. We grabbed 2 seats at the beautiful bar and were immediately greeted by the staff. They have Happy Hour Monday - Saturday from 4-6 so we just made it. The charcuterie inside the repurposed wine bottle is such a fun idea. The meats and cheeses and nuts and crackers were delicious. The serving was quite large for a happy hour app. We started with glasses of prosecco and a chilled red which were on the happy hour menu as well. Melissa was behind the bar and she is AMAZING! Once happy hour was over and we learned there was live music from 7-9 we pretty much decided we were staying all night. Melissa made sure we never felt rushed. Honestly it felt like sitting in a cafe in Europe where enjoying a bottle of wine with friends is supposed to take time and never be quick. She helped us pick a bottle of sparkling rosé and it was very very good. And the price point was so reasonable. They have an extensive wine list and seriously the prices range from $23-$100+ so there's something for everyone. Once the music started we ordered the Sopressata and hot honey flat bread. It was great to share and the flavor was wonderful. It took a little while to come out of the kitchen, but Melissa made sure to check in and let us know. The space itself is so fun. There's a huge bar and a couch with comfortable chairs and tables along the wall. They also offer a small number of patio seats right outside. It got really crowded and reservations were almost a must. Another side note, the bathrooms are so nice. They're clean and well decorated and stocked with everything you could need from feminine products, to mouthwash and more. This spot is seriously a must visit! And I really appreciate their social media and website being up to date with all the specials and events going on. They have live music several nights per week and they also do classes like paint and sip nights. I cannot wait to go back!

The seating was comfortable, and there was "lite" live music in the corner; a solo singer with a guitar who played just loud enough to enjoy without killing conversation. There was also a wine tasting going on at the end of the bar, hosted by one of the vendors, which was a fun touch. Unlike the previous wine bar, Charlotte's actually offers food, and we were handed full menus right away. We decided to share a bunch of small plates, assuming they'd be, well, small. We were wrong. The portions were generous, and everything was delicious. Meatballs in marinara with fresh basil and olive oil, a Mediterranean veggie flatbread with feta, and a lovely, light whipped ricotta served with crostini toasts. My only complaint is that there weren't quite enough crostini for the mountain of ricotta we were given. The wine was solid. I went with a still rosé while my friends had reds, and everyone was happy. The door never stopped revolving the whole time we were there, which tells me this place is already a hit. It's exactly what Mount Pleasant needed along that stretch of Coleman Boulevard.

Starting dinner off right with some deliciously fresh raw oysters complete with a traditional "onion" mignonette, and then Chef Eric brought out a little special treat....the base was fresh lump crab meat topped with some chunked watermelon and the most light, fresh, delicious dressing & crunch. WOW. I could eat that all summer. Moving onto the main courses, a perfectly cooked NY strip & root veggies with a love boat of fresh sauces. Chimi, steak butter, and a horseradish crema. As if the steak needed any sauce, but with that trifecta?? I couldn't help myself. Incredible. The other entree, a risotto and shrimp. Incredibly flavorful, complete with crisp English peas. As I write this, I wish I had another plateful. The bartender is the Chef's little lady, & she was a GEM! No offer was made to bring more, even though there was an obvious need. The arugula Caesar was extremely salty. We liked the sardines throughout but there was no reason to add additional salt.
