    Charcuterie

Amazing hospitality! Charcuterie was exceptional! Comfortable space. Very happy and will be back again! Highly recommended!

10/10 Recommend! The ambiance is spectacular. I have never been to a place quite like this and I will definitely be back! The owner was super nice and the whole experience felt so personal. The cheeses and wines were phenomenal and the system is so easy. Definitely check this place out!

COVID era recommended. Super great place to get a drink and have a snack (I can't spell charcuterie). Fair priced self-service wine a little under what you'd pay in a sit down restaurant. So it's a pick your adventure place, can get a taste of 2 oz, half, or full glass. You get a card and go at it in any way that excites you. The charcuterie is good with a wide range of meats and cheeses. Plus a few beers for those like me. While the wine is a self-service (cool for the techie) the owner does an amazing job of customer service. It's a one man band but he makes you feel welcome like your in his house, well you are in his restaurant. Highly recommend visiting especially on a nice night and can sit outside. There are five tables well spaced outside and around 6-7 inside.

Ardoa Wine Bar on Riviera Drive in Mount Pleasant is a great place to go for all things quality wine and much more. I really like the location and atmosphere that they have available here. The staff here is very accommodating and provides excellent customer service.

What a concept ... the gentleman that gave us the "how to" was great he showed us the ropes on tasting or drinking options. You open a tab and receive a drink card that allows you to pick a taste or a sip or a full on glass of various wines. Loved this giving me the opportunity to try and if I liked I went back for a full glass. Order a couple of cheeses again recommend the champagne cheddar and their euphoria cheese with Prochetta which came with a rustic bread walnuts and fig spread and spicy mustard and mini dill pickles which was plenty for us. Sadly fell in love with their sawtooth Chardonnay but found out I can't get that here at home in va. If your in Charleston mount pleasant are check this gem of a place out!

In town for the evening and unsure of what we wanted to eat, we decided to stop in here for a glass of wine. This is a serve yourself and pay by the ounce set up. When you enter you hand over your credit card to start a tab, and then the hostess will show you how the wine dispenser works. This is a great way to try different wines, especially if you're not sure what you like. The atmosphere is dimly lit and very nice, with high tops up front, a bar, and couches for groups towards the back. There are light bites to order with your wine, and we went with charcuterie with smoked duck and "Ewephoria", a sheep gouda, which was very good. Would love to see a place like this in downtown Greenville, SC. I think it would fit in nicely.

Ardoa wine bar is a great set up for a wine bar. Several tall tables to sit near the front or relax at the back in love seats & chairs. But the best part is how the wine is served. Using a card given upon arrival, for your credit card, you insert it then choose you wine pour. It's self serve. There are 15 different wines, with white, red and more. Then you have 3 different pour sizes. We really enjoy the setup, and it's fun either as an intimate stop for two or with a group of friends. If hungry, they have a nice menu of meats & cheeses to snack on. But come here for the wine, lots of great choices, so easy to use, and fun.

Good stuff on the board to try!

Love the concept of this wine bar! And such an innovative way to serve wine, through a self service system. A very easy one at that! How it works. You simply walk in, be greeted by the host/hostess, trade them a credit/debit card for an Ardoa card and then you can sample and drink to your hearts content. Whether you want to sample, try a half glass or a full glass the choice is yours. I love wine sampling so the sampling option is absolutely perfect if you really want to try everything they have to offer. The wines are arranged from white to red and I believe there are about twelve or so to chose from. Pair these with one of their Charcuterie boards or hummus plate and you have got you a perfect evening with friends or significant other. The only negative I have about Ardoa is that I wish they had more information available about the wines they have. Especially if you are one who only enjoys certain types of wines then it would be convenient to have more information to help guide us to the perfect wines for our taste.

More of all of this please!!!!

I love everything about this place. Starting with the atmosphere which is a nice blend of what I would traditionally think of in a french wine bar combined with the luxuries of a much more modern/industrial look. The carcuterie and cheese selection is always good and they have a bit of something for everyone. The German style Blue cheese they normally have is always awesome! For the best selection I would honestly ask the owner, he has never steered me wrong in helping me pick out a selection. (If it's your thing I 100% recommend the duck pate!!! The owner recommended it but also gave me the great tip of saving it for last so thst it had time to come to room temperature and allow all the flavors to emerge) The wine selection is normally very good and I have seen a lot of good wines come and go. Its nice that they keep them constantly rotating. I was told that they "only serve wine that they enjpy drinking", this might sound trivial and obvious but if you've ever worked in/managed a bar with a wine cellar you know it's much much easier said than done. I actually believe this is the case here! The only potential downside to the rotating menu is that if you pick a favorite it may not be there when you go back. They very conveniently solve this problem by offering a lot of their wine for retail sale....very clever good sir....very clever!! Every single member of the staff here has at one point or another gone out of their way to help me out going far above and beyond the call of duty. They even recently helped me pull off a very successful, very elaborate proposal plan!! (It worked she said yes!!) In conclusion this place is alright I guess. Kidding....go here....it's great.

There were a few amazing dishes, some good dishes, 1 miss, and 1 that was just awful. The service was super friendly, but the timing was off a tad. We waited a good bit of time between the 1st and 2nd course, but then the 3rd course came out before we had 2 bites of the 2nd. After that the timing was much better. The restaurant itself is large and nice, but does not give off a cozy vibe, and we felt too close to our neighbors. I wasn't sure if I should do the meal review from good to bad dish, or by course, but decided it makes sense to the latter Starting with the Aperitivo course, we both got the Scallop crudo. The wife and I disagreed on this dish, as I enjoyed the aroma of and taste of the fried capers, and thought lemon added a nice touch of acid. However, I thought the dish needed either more capers or salt as the sauce was bland and there were not enough capers to make up for it. For the Antipasti I had the Seafood Arancini which was a crispy, golden Italian rice balls consisting of a mix of lump crab meat, Miss Paula shrimp (which upon looking up is from the seafood market at Tarvin Seafood), along with scallops, mascarpone, and creme fraiche aioli. This was an OK dish The wife ordered the Sicilian Octopus, with summer squash, zucchini, smoked pecan romesco. Here is another dish we disagreed on, but only because my wife has decided she does not like Octopus. I on the other hand loved it and thought the dish was great. The meat was tender and had a great char flavor. There were two sauces, one was a romesco and the was green (I think pesto) that the wife and I both really enjoyed. For the Zuppa y insalata course I had the Lobster bisque with sherry cream, crispy focaccia crouton. I took the 1st bite and immediately knew it was good; however, I had to send it back because it was served room temperature at best. Upon having it reheated, I thought this was easily one of the best Lobster bisques ever. The flavors were bold and spicy, but not so bold that I could not taste the lobster. The wife ordered the Seafood salad. Another dish with Miss Paula shrimp, bay scallops and pieces of calamari, supposedly topped with lemon herb vinaigrette. We both agreed this dish was bland, bland, followed by more blandness. There was no salt, no acid from the Lemon Vinaigrette and not a whiff of spice or taste from the herbs. It was just Scallops, a few pieces of calamari and some thinly sliced shrimp with zero flavor. For the Secondo course I had the Scallop risotto, with fire roasted peppers, sweet corn, crispy pancetta, and parmigiano. Here we go another amazing dish. The Scallops were cooked perfectly, and the risotto was loaded with flavor. The fire roasted peppers with sweet corn just added extra pop. The dish was made more pleasing to the eye with a ring of green sauce halfway around the risotto and the other half with a red sauce. There was so much flavor in the risotto, I could not tell if it added flavor or not, but it was clearly added to the visual aspect. Here is where the meal really took a hit as the wife ordered the Grilled branzino mediterranean sea bass, with charred broccolini, potatoes, artichokes, fresh herb oil, yellow tomato vinaigrette. When I took a small bite my first reaction was OH NO, I don't think she is going to like this. When I took a second bite, I realized it was uneatable. The skin on the fish was a bit tough and Slimy making it hard to cut. The fish was covered in a sauce that was just gross and not eatable. The only good thing about this dish was the charred broccolini which we both agreed was good. After that Sea Bass we were both done and decided to get the Dolce course to go. I ordered the Tiramisu cheesecake which we both enjoyed when we got home. The wife's Limoncello cake which was an olive oil cake soaked in limoncello, sweet cranberries with orange marmalade, was OK but neither of us would order again. So here we are with a tale of two dinners experience. Except for the 1st dish, we both thought everything I ordered was really good, but on the other hand, the wife didn't like anything she ordered, while I really loved the octopus, thought her Antipasti And Dolce dishes were just OK, the Seafood salad was tasteless, and the Sea Bass was just awful.

We came in on a Friday around 5:45pm and things were already pretty busy. We grabbed 2 seats at the beautiful bar and were immediately greeted by the staff. They have Happy Hour Monday - Saturday from 4-6 so we just made it. The charcuterie inside the repurposed wine bottle is such a fun idea. The meats and cheeses and nuts and crackers were delicious. The serving was quite large for a happy hour app. We started with glasses of prosecco and a chilled red which were on the happy hour menu as well. Melissa was behind the bar and she is AMAZING! Once happy hour was over and we learned there was live music from 7-9 we pretty much decided we were staying all night. Melissa made sure we never felt rushed. Honestly it felt like sitting in a cafe in Europe where enjoying a bottle of wine with friends is supposed to take time and never be quick. She helped us pick a bottle of sparkling rosé and it was very very good. And the price point was so reasonable. They have an extensive wine list and seriously the prices range from $23-$100+ so there's something for everyone. Once the music started we ordered the Sopressata and hot honey flat bread. It was great to share and the flavor was wonderful. It took a little while to come out of the kitchen, but Melissa made sure to check in and let us know. The space itself is so fun. There's a huge bar and a couch with comfortable chairs and tables along the wall. They also offer a small number of patio seats right outside. It got really crowded and reservations were almost a must. Another side note, the bathrooms are so nice. They're clean and well decorated and stocked with everything you could need from feminine products, to mouthwash and more. This spot is seriously a must visit! And I really appreciate their social media and website being up to date with all the specials and events going on. They have live music several nights per week and they also do classes like paint and sip nights. I cannot wait to go back!

The seating was comfortable, and there was "lite" live music in the corner; a solo singer with a guitar who played just loud enough to enjoy without killing conversation. There was also a wine tasting going on at the end of the bar, hosted by one of the vendors, which was a fun touch. Unlike the previous wine bar, Charlotte's actually offers food, and we were handed full menus right away. We decided to share a bunch of small plates, assuming they'd be, well, small. We were wrong. The portions were generous, and everything was delicious. Meatballs in marinara with fresh basil and olive oil, a Mediterranean veggie flatbread with feta, and a lovely, light whipped ricotta served with crostini toasts. My only complaint is that there weren't quite enough crostini for the mountain of ricotta we were given. The wine was solid. I went with a still rosé while my friends had reds, and everyone was happy. The door never stopped revolving the whole time we were there, which tells me this place is already a hit. It's exactly what Mount Pleasant needed along that stretch of Coleman Boulevard.
