This by all means isn't a thrift store they will price gouge you to the fullest it's very unfortunate. They need to have a private audit done on cost and analysis here. Also, they yell at you to get out of the way when customers are shopping or looking at items what they need to do is shift large items to be donated in the back of the store at the donation dock they also block the Ada and wheelchair parking as the area turns in to a stop and drop for all donations in front! Pros: the upside is you're recycling clothing and helping the environment. Cons: 1) They don't have dressing rooms so you don't get to see if the clothing is too small or just doesn't look good on you etc... 2) they don't refund your money if the clothing doesn't work for you and you have a receipt. All they do is let you exchange for another item of clothing that's equal to the value of what you originally purchased (kind of a hassle).. 3) The selection isn't better than Ross or Marshall's (which it's a consignment store, sure ok), however the prices are basically the same as Ross/Marshall's and you're paying for secondhand clothing, so do what you will with that info. read more

I'm leaving them 5 stars! They're customer service was on point!!! Every employee was so helpful, and friendly! It was my first time going to this place and I will definitely be coming back. I signed up for the first time ever for there rewards system and I got 30% off all the clothing I bought. I was super excited about that as well. Some clothing is decent price especially for name brand things. Other Knick knacks can be over priced depending on what you're searching for. I definitely think it's worth going in and checking out! This thrift store is out of its mind!!! The prices are outrageous! $10 for a plain T-shirt?!! You can find brand new for that price. $5.00+ for used books?!! Still a discount from the new price but you can get books for $2.00 at any other thrift store. DO. NOT. RECOMMEND. I was in the area and decided to come here. They have a huge parking lot. The donation station is right on the side. The store is huge. They have a ton of items and everything is well stocked. Some things were a bit over stocked but you have to look for the good deals. I was able to find a really nice name brand shirt for $2.50. When I paid because I had points accumulated I was able to get a discount. I was able to buy 2 shirts,2 shirts,a bra,pjs,& a small bag of toys for $23.72 . I don't think I can get this great offer anywhere else . I was really happy with my finds. read more

I come here at least three times a week because its right next door to my gym. The store is always generally clean and the staff is friendly. They extended their hours until 8 PM which I'm so grateful for. I will say that some of the trendier pieces tend to be priced higher ( leather jackets $20 or more ) but overall I enjoy coming here read more

It's really hard to judge this place negatively. Every time you go and every day and every moment is a bit different because the stock is constantly changing and your experience there is very much dependent on whatever is available at the time that you are there and whoever else happens to be there working as well as shopping. Because the people working there can make or break your experience and the people stopping there can be worse. More than anything, it's pretty chill and if you look through everything you'll tend to find something good no matter when you go. Not the best thrift shop and a bit lower end in terms of quality, but not dirty. Worth a perusal. Just don't get bamboozle'd. God bless you and pay it forward read more

The people who work here are mostly amazing. Huge store so many selections. So easy to donate things too and on top of that u get a coupon when you donate. BEWARE: no fitting rooms AND no returns. Only exchanges within 14 days. And they don't tell you until you get to check out and they have these tiny signs. Really ruins the experience. Prices are all over, some things are affordable and some things are priced quadruple what the old price tag on them says. It's awful you can no longer try stuff on in many thrift stores. No dressing rooms :( Impossible to know how pants will fit and NO REFUNDS. Why should I risk $12+ (already high for secondhand clothing) and not be able to get a refund? Too many thrift stores are using the excuse of the pandemic to not provide dressing rooms anymore. Store was pretty clean the stuff wasant overpriced although a bit priceier on the thrifting side and that service staff there were very nice, only gripe is the selection at the time I had gone wasant great for my taste, there was also a decent amount of competition and the section for some men's clothes was kind of small. Walked in and was amazed at all the books they had. I was captivated by the titles when I looked up and saw this huge rolling metal donation box being pushed super fast towards me. I had to jump out from it's way so I wouldn't get hit by it. The 2 employees didn't see where them were going and didn't warn me of their presence until after I moved out of the way. After they saw me, started going down the aisle telling people to get out of their way. They were hauling ass down those isles! This was on Saturday, I believe around the 11th of April. I then asked a other employee where the restrooms were at, and she looked super anoyed that I had bothered her. That and on top of the super high prices, turned me off. $16 for a used hoodie? Savers is open again! I don't know who was more happy, me or my three year old son. It's the one store I can shop and he can play (making sure I respect others by helping him clean up the mess he makes!). Although sometimes I leave with nothing and other times I leave with a cart full, I leave happy knowing I've donated a bag or two unwanted items (and gotten a 20% off coupon in return) which clears up space for the new toys my kids want . I feel the value is good because of the 20% off coupon I can use. I love the 50% off they remind me about via email, but be warned that it can get busy and the line can get long. This is my go to thrift store! The only challenge due to covid is you can't try clothes on, but you now have two weeks to come back and exchange the clothes if they don't fit. read more

One star each for the ease of dropping off donations and the size of the store. Prices have increased a lot and there are no more dressing rooms to try on items. The most annoying part was that one of the employees reprimanded me for trying on a blazer over my clothes. She basically said we don't have fitting rooms anymore and if I wanted to try it on, I had to buy it and try it on at home. I'm aware of the new return/exchange policy. I know there aren't any fitting rooms anymore, but there isn't any signs anywhere that say you can't try on anything. So I said, "Okay, so I have to buy everything I might be interested in, try it on at home, if it doesn't work out I have to drive back here. Then, shop around and try and find something else I can't try on because there are no refunds and it's exchange only?" To which she said, "yes." Seriously? It's really disappointing because this place was my favorite place to thrift, but now I might just switch to goodwill. Even though goodwill is final sale, at least they have fitting rooms open. read more

Purchased an air conditioning unit that was priced by Savers for sale for $129.99 that was in the original box and sealed. Looked brand new. It was amongst the other air conditioning units and fans on a shelf. I did not open it right away because it was for my daughter. When I opened it I discovered a bag of jeans, and a bunch of other household items but no air conditioner. Certainly nothing worth $129.99. I took it back to the store to say "What the heck! Refund please." To make a long story short, every argument I made as to why I should be refunded - like - "Don't you open up all donated items to make sure they are what they are before you price it and put it out for sale?" To which the Regional store manager replied - "yes, someone is supposed to do that - but it is your responsibility to check the box before you leave the store." I argued that I trusted that the store was selling what they advertised for sale at $129.99 was actually what was in the box." It didn't matter. No refund. Have you noticed that Savers does sell new items as well as thrift items? I think they have a duty to deal honestly don't you? I ended up leaving the store and the box of items because she was not budging on her policy. Now Saver's gets to make more money on the items and I am out a total of $140 with the paid sales tax. This is not good business or good community relations. I'm sharing my experience as a warning to all who shop there to test the products yourself because THEY DO NOT DO THAT AND open a box even if it looks new just to make sure it is what it is. read more

You might say thrift shopping is a family tradition for us -- though it may not sound complementary, we wear the moniker, "Expert Rag-picker," with pride! When I was introduced to Savers years ago I only knew of the Berkeley store, now sadly closed. The Berkeley store was so immaculately organized it put every other thrift shop to shame: if you were going after a women's bright red long sleeve knit shirt in a specific size, you could go to the women's department, go to the long sleeve knit shirt rack, go to the size you wanted, and all of the colors were arranged in order for easy shopping. The Vacaville Savers Store is similarly organized, with very specific racks for easy shopping, and the store is clean and well lit and fun to wander (BUT: more in a moment). When I shopped there before, I used to be acquainted with many of the register employees, who have always been a cheerful and helpful bunch - - but now Savers has made the checkout process completely self-serve - - and I'm sad to lose the personal interaction with the wonderful people I used to know there. I mean it when I said the employees are a joy. And: here's the "BUT:" I'm afraid as much as I love Savers and have spent a lot of time and money there, I can't give a five-star rating because of one thing: Disorganized racks. I know that it may be a staffing issue (hey -- all the checkout clerks might be able to do this now instead?), but I wish that they were able to keep the racks up by -at least- making the sizes in their proper sections -- (it was a total bonus to have Berkeley's store by size AND then by color, but not always possible especially in a big store of any kind). I find that frequently when looking through my size on a rack, I'll find a clump of five or six items that are all a different size from what's supposed to be in that section - - as if someone has decided against them all at once and just stuffed them on the most convenient rack so they could charge out and leave. Because I had some business in the Vacaville area, for a while I was going there every single week, and -- VERY often I would find the -same- clump of wrong-size clothing -still- in the section for my size a WEEK LATER -- And all VERY wrong size, like a batch of size six in the X-Larges. It seems to me that if you really want to move the merchandise out, if the customer can find the size they need they are likely to purchase more - - and to return frequently because they know how easy it is to shop there. Other than that, as I say it's a pleasure to be there - - the prices have absolutely risen within the past year for whatever reason and it's harder to justify the impulse purchases like I used to, but the wandering and just looking is still a lot of fun too. It may not be fair of me to compare the two stores regarding "department-style-size-color," but at the very least I'd think someone could go thru the racks to straighten out the sizes. And I ALWAYS love finding a reason to go, so if they do improve in the future I will -definitely- re-review and add a star for improvement! read more

I feel like walking inside a museum since the prices are so high. I know you have overhead but the items are donated by the community. Very large store with a lot of stuff but I didn't find the Corning ware at a decent price. They seem to over value the items. I can buy new for as much as they want. You have to have a very sharp eye to search for vintage clothing as there is so much to see & comb through. read more

I have been in here a lot lately. Trying to plan a wedding on a budget has me doing a lot of thrifting. The reason I have given this store only three stars is because of prices. They are way to overpriced for being a thrift store. For instance, last time I was in here I was looking at the clothing section, they had a dress that had the original Burlington coat factory sticker on it priced a $10.99 the savers sticker on the item was $12.99? I really tried to like this place, but it's insanely over priced! I really wanted a shirt that wasn't even brand new or name brand and the price tag was $17.99! If it was brand name with tags, then maybe I could see that price, but nope. Some of the electronics are broken and high priced and their beauty section selection is all tested out make-up (customers tried them out), liquid soaps, haircare, and perfume with high pricing! The prices at Savers have always been higher than other thrift stores but now they are pricing their items higher than what the item originally sold for in stores and the vintage items will cost you more than what you can buy them for on ebay with shipping! You will actually save $$ by purchasing from eBay! Every isle i went down today there were people complaining about the prices! This is absolutely ridiculous! The items they are selling have been donated to them! I do not see this store lasting much longer in Vacaville! I even overheard one of the employees advising a customer that was complaining about prices to complain to management! The employee said they have told management that the prices are too high!
