My girlfriend that used to live near Vacaville mentioned that there is a "large" Goodwill here for all my little bargain shopping needs.... Skeptical, I decided to check them out... She wasn't lyin. This place is pretty huge in comparison to other locations. Organized very well. You could tell that the employees take pride in this location and keep it well maintained. It even smelled clean. I don't know how often I've entered the doors of a Goodwill in general and you get a whiff of something reminiscent of the days of K-Mart (said to make everyone laugh) I found blazers, blouses, shoes, jackets, belts...... you name it. I was in the city of Vacaville and decided to visit this goodwill to see what they had to offer. I was greatly disappointed at their inventory and set up uof the store. Walking in and I noticed ther was a customer that wanted to pay for her items and the was no employee in sight. she waithed for about 10 minutes for someone to show up and help her. Shoe selection was very sad and clothing selection was overpriced. walked arount the store and did find a cool bowling ball in a heavy canvas bag with thick rainbor straps. I was really cool and had a retro vibe to it. It even came with bowling shoes that to my surprise were my size. They reminded me of the 70's in a loafer kinda of style in very soft white leather. They were very well taken care of and came with individual shoe covers with the option of white laces or rainbow laces. i was priced at $9.00 but I was given a teachers discount of 25% bringing down the price to about $6.75. Also found a coupe of odds and ends too bringing my total cost to about $11.00 in total for all my items. read more

There are a couple of things my fellow Yelpers got spot on: I: It is a small place. II: Staff can use a little (or A LOT OF) improvement with customer service. I: It is a small place, granted, but if you look close enough, there are some pretty good buys here. I found a brand new veggie grill tray (tag from Bed Bath and Beyond was still on it!) for the amazing price of $1.99 and a small trio candle set for $0.99. (Or I assumed it was going to be $0.99 given it had another tag plugged in for $1.99. Will explain below.) Found a few more items which weren't priced but I thought I'd take 'em to ask the cashier. Overall, the array of merchandise wasn't too bad given its size. II: I was having an OK time until I went up front to make the purchase. The staff (cashier and manager alike) were not customer friendly at all. First, the cashier was irked she had to "look up" prices for these couple of items. When she couldn't find them, she had to call a manager, who, like the cashier, also looked annoyed. (Wow, it's like these two couldn't be bothered to do the job they're hired to do!) Regarding the couple of unpriced items, pricing was far too high for me to consider. ($6.99 for a 2' x 2' fabric? $1.99 for a small votive candle holder?) NO. Cashier rang up the rest of my items. I did the math in my head and my stuff shouldn't have cost more than $5. For whatever reason, everything came up to $7 and change. So, like any sensible person, I checked the receipt and low and behold: I was overcharged for the 3 items I was buying. Basically came down to this: everything I bought had 2 price tags on them (2 of them wasn't even theirs) and I was charged the higher prices. Cashier didn't even hide how peeved she was as she rolled her eyes when I showed her. (Like, duh, you messed up!) She had to once again call the manager to override the transaction who, again, like the cashier, was even more annoyed. She corrected the 2 non-Goodwill tagged items but refused to give me the trio candle for the lower price (because giving up a whole dollar was much too much for her.) A buck wouldn't have hindered me from taking it, but given I didn't really need it and combined with her overall attitude (which was the bigger deciding factor)... hard pass. Most Goodwill stores I've been to would have given me the lower price just to rid of the item off their store. Not this one. So, yeah, I think this is a one-and-done place for me more especially since I live hundreds of miles away from this area. I hope they take heed and take necessary steps toward improving their customer service methods. read more

This is my favorite Goodwill! The staff are super friendly every single time and it's organized so beautifully!! The pricing is reasonable in my opinion. To be honest, I believe all thrift and second hand stores have raised their prices & it's very on trend to thrift right now, so of corse prices are going to go up... everywhere. Some of the newer items or leather goods are pricey but I still feel like if it's in a great condition it's still absolutely worth it and will be a fraction of the original price. Most items are in good condition as well! I always find the best items here and look forward to my next treasure hunt. read more

The donation part of the store is ok. Some of the donation staff is slow and lazy. He store is small. The have a good amount of men's and women's clothes. The other stuff is very limited like house hold goods, toys shoes and stuff. The inside staff is friendly and courteous. It's not often that I walk into Goodwill and am instantly welcomed with a friendly hello. It was my first visit to this location, and not only was the service great, but this is also one of the most well organized Goodwills I've ever been to- as an avid thrifter, that's saying a lot. Every clothing aisel was neat and easy to shop. I found some great items, including a Le Creuset saucepan for $5.99, a large Kliner Mason jar, and a North Face jacket for under $20. Not much digging was required, as I found all of these items in less than 15 minutes. If I had more time to shop, who knows what kind of treasures I could have uncovered. The checkout process was also top notch. The checker, who I suspect was the manager, was the same one who greeted me when I walked in. She made small talk and wrapped my housewares with extra care. It amazes me that this Goodwill doesn't have a better overall rating. My experience was excellent and I can't wait to see what I find next time I visit! read more

Not my first time in this store and l have to say they are so rude! I was on my way out to purchase and a lady started yelling at me because I didn't have a mask on. Umm okay . There's no mandate in Solano county and I'm fully vaccinated like what!! If anyone goes anywhere in this town you will find a majority of people not wearing mask indoors also some employees.. Stopped in just to look around. Found a shapewear top that was in decent condition. The lady at the register said that it was a blouse and proceeded to charge me more than what the price tag said.She had a weird attitude. I've never had a bad experience here and the staff is always nice to me and greets me, but I will say that some of their pricing is outrageous and ridiculous! I always check at the counter and see what new things they have and to be honest they are way too high priced. I go to the Goodwill for deals and not to be spending money that I can go buy the same item for the same price. Also half of the stuff they have in the counter is half used if it's beauty or hair care, the jewelry is not real half the time, and the new items are not name brand to be priced so high. read more

First time made donations in this location few weeks ago (usually at a different donation store). I pulled up where you do your drop off up front behind another car. I see a man in charge sitting..I step out to ask if "we have to sorts everything in different box.. (politely..since I noticed that's what the person in front of me seem to be doing.) He rudely tell me to wait for my turn and that I have to put everything in the right box! Wth?! I replied to him.. you guys must be kidding cuz I have 3 large bags and 1 large box. I have shopped at quite a few Goodwills and thrift stores in my time and this one for me was a big let down. The outside of the building looks newer and makes the store look huge, so instead of driving by, I pulled in. Unfortunately the inside of the store wasn't the same story. It is tiny! Clothing takes up most of the space, and a small corner to has a few misc. housewares and books. When I visited there were a few pieces of furniture, a small shelf with books, no kids toys, a few racks of shoes, and a corner with housewares and kitchen supples with mostly empty shelves. The rest of the store had nicely hung clothing with a large men's and women's section though I wasn't drawn in to look. The cash register was in the middle of the glass display cases with nothing to note. Unfortunately I won't be coming back to this location, I think they could have done so much more with the building that they were given. So disappointing! Oh, and if you want to drop off any donations (looks like this store greatly needs them!) they have a drive up drop off spot located on the right side of the building. read more

If it were possible to give less than one star, I would. This is a filthy disgusting store with crummy overpriced clothes. It was over 100° and there was no air conditioning in the store. It was so miserable to be in there it made me feel ill, especially when I looked at the prices. 19..99 for winter coats in the middle of the summer. I'm not sure who they think they are or who they think their customers are but there was nothing in that stinky store that you could've given me. This was my favorite Vacaville thrift store from the ones that I visited with my husband. We went to three different ones and this was the second one we stopped in. It's a really really small location and everything is a set price which makes it confusing to know what the prices are going to be of an item. However, my husband found some wonderful gems and we were so pleased with them that it was just a nice experience. I could see myself coming back here in the future and would recommend it to others in the area. read more

This is for the drop off area. I know it is tough right now and must be hard to run a business. That said. My big complaint is that every week I go there to drop off donations there is a different way things are working. Seems they put a person in the front that seems on their high-horse and directs the ongoings as they see fit. One week we can park are car and drop it off. One week it's only two bags. One week we have to wait in line. I never know what to expect. Maybe they should put some nice people that work with the patrons. And maybe they should come up with a protocol that they can post on line. Maybe they should put signs that say what is going on day by day. Maybe some cones to direct traffic. This place is such a cluster-fudge. I will not return. There are other places in town that appreciate and have their protocol together. read more

Went in for some thrifting and to enjoy my coffee while shopping. I was immediately prevented from even walking in once the doors opened by an older lady yelling very loudly about "you need a mask!!!" I was caught off guard and said "oh, did the rules change?" (Since there is no current Solano county mandate and the goodwill website says no mandates unless county requires it.) She said "we make the rules for THIS store!!!". There is no reason to scream and be aggressive - I turned right back around and told her I won't be shopping, then. This isn't the first time I've had bad customer service here, but it's the first time I've been full on accosted before evening stepping foot in the store. Won't be returning. So stopped in after my Dr appointment. Was making a large purchase for homeless people near my house. Was going to spend up to $400.00 , that was my budget. Before I could complete my order and purchase I needed to use the restroom. I have major medical issues and can not wait. They told me restrooms out of order to go next door to there office and I could use there restroom. I politely asked and was refused. I will never make another purchase at your or any Goodwill store. Their selection is terrible, I was looking for kids shoes and they have them thrown on top of clothes in a basket in no order at all and there was a couple really small sizes or a couple very large sizes and nothing in between. Nothing good here. I've been to many goodwills and this is definitely not their best one. As soon as you walk in, it smells like you've stepped into a filthy bathroom. Waste of time. Really crappy selection in all departments, goofy pricing that feels really discouraging. I found a small wallet that had a price tag on it that said $1.99 I bought that and a toy for my son for $1. When I checked my receipt I had been charged an extra dollar for the wallet (making it $2.99) when I told the cashier about it she told me that she could not refund the dollar even though they'd basically stolen it from me. Really an awkward and infuriating situation. There's no need to shop here. I love thrifting and do it often but I won't be returning to this joke of a place. read more

Called to make sure they were accepting donations and to confirm they'd take a desk we needed to disassemble to transport. After loading our truck with a wardrobe, dresser, book shelves, desk, clothing, CDs, purses, toys, office equipment, iPod, and comforter/curtain sets we drove to the Goodwill at approximately 5:00pm on Monday. As soon as we drove up we were stopped by a woman outside who said they were not accepting anymore donations and were in fact closing. We called an hour prior and we actually had four hours until they said they were closing and no longer accepting. We typically save all of our donations for the Goodwill. We will now be taking all donations to Savers Thrift Superstore. Thank goodness when we called they said they'd gladly take our donations. read more

I don't mean to be a goodwill snob (is there such a thing?!) but I'm used to the thrift shops in Sacramento - where clothes are arranged by color and size and will even offer an additional 50% off discount some items! This store is very unorganized and a little overpriced for Goodwill. They have set prices. For example, pants are usually $7.99 and shorts are $5.99. I even saw some cute dresses, but I wasn't willing to pay more than $15 for them when I can get them in Sacramento for around $5! You could try haggling down the price and it may work for you! My haul included 3 purses - two Coach (one purse and one wristlet) and one cute Dooney and Bourke... All for $50! The silver lining in this store is that there are a lot of items that are still new with tags! (I noticed a lot of items from Target with tags still attached!) I may come back to his store if I have the time to comb through the racks to find the size I need! read more
