Snowline thrift store- located in Folsom! I adored this thrift store! Not only was it clean, well organized but the staff were so nice! Most importantly all the money you spend here is actually going to good cause!!! Hospice! IYKYK! They had a large amount of fall decor, regular decor, clothing, shoes, art, literally everything! Come check it out and shop for a cause!

    Large Oil painting for $28!

I love Folsom snowline thrift! I have only been 4 times but each time I find the best stuff! Vintage made in the USA Pyrex, antique gold frames, a beautiful large oil painting, THE BEST China/ dinnerware and the coolest antique books. They also occasionally have great furniture pieces. A friend of mine purchased a beautiful large antique entry table a few years back for a steal. The prices here are so beyond fair! I bring my family here when they're in town and we always have a great time finding unique items. Clean store and friendly staff. I also love what they support and stand for.

Are there some people at Snowline who try to take advantage of elderly people?

All in great condition and thoughtfully displayed. It's clear there is pride in keeping the store tidy and curated. Fun and easy place to browse--good selection of unique dish-ware for such a small store. I'll definitely be back!

Was meeting with a friend in the area but had some time to kill so I stopped by "Upscale Thrift"…read morewhich was nearby. Figured I could browse their paperbacks and grab a book to read while I waited. There were some clothes racks outside their front entrance which I glanced at briefly. Definitely did not appear "upscale" as their name suggests. But I figured maybe inside would be better. Walked past the dresses section by the door and looked at pricing. Each item is individually priced, which is understandable for small businesses like this. But to price a simple dress for $25 that you'd find at Goodwill for maybe $8-10 seemed a little too steep. Other items seemed more fairly priced for a thrift store, like $5-6 for a top. I'm all about supporting local businesses so I figured I'd find a book or something small to purchase and be on my way. I was in the store probably 2 minutes tops when an older guy said to me, "Excuse me!" I thought he was a customer so I said "Yes?" Was bracing myself for a strange conversation since you never know what to expect when a random person starts talking to you. Had no idea he worked there. He then tells me that I'll need to check my bag at the front counter. I was in disbelief. I was just carrying a simple handbag, no huge tote or backpack. Just my normal purse that I carry everywhere and have never been stopped. I was so surprised by his request that the first thing I said was, "Me?" Like I was shocked that he would even think I'd try to shoplift or something. I guess they have shoplifting issues since there is a sign on their front door about checking in backpacks and large bags. But I didn't think it applied to me since I was just carrying a purse/handbag that's not considered large. I told the guy, "I'll just leave then" and I walked out. I was in disbelief that a thrift store that sells unwanted donated items that are not even "upscale" is having people check in their bags. I would not trust them to watch my purse at the counter, so why would I check it in? Just a bad sign when you walk into a business and want to support them but end up being made to feel like a potential shoplifter. Perhaps if the guy had been very apologetic and said it was a store policy that they have to enforce with everyone, then I wouldn't have been so taken aback. It's a thrift store. I get it that you're trying to make some money by stopping potential shoplifters, but this business needs to rethink how they approach first time customers. Not a good experience. Plenty of local businesses to support that treat their customers better.

The shop inventory includes books, housewares, home decor, shoes and clothes (men's, women, and children). It has a good size quantity of inventory. The store is kept tidy, and the items are organized and clean. No dirty, damaged items. I like to browse the housewares and home decor to look for up-cycling projects. When they do get in full pattern dish serving sets; they bundle them up and price by item type. So they bundle the dinner plates, bowls, etc, and price those bundles. The pricing seems fair based on brand and quality. Next housewares is the book aisle. The book selection is impressive but would help with better signage on genre. They have shopping carts but some aisles, particularly the clothes racks, are narrow and accommodate one cart at a time and some coordinated efforts from other customers to maneuver about. The women's clothes are in good condition. On my last recent shopping trip, I spotted several size 6 Banana Republic jeans priced at $12.99. Current styles, great condition. Thrift shopping takes patience and calm to find the bargains and your future treasures. The donation drop off is open during shop hours. It's located in the back of the store. It's a car drive up drop off. So pack patience as well, as you wait your turn. Before you pack your car with donations, I recommend reading the website regarding what items they accept and more importantly don't accept. Plus no dumping after hours. They have security cameras.

I went into store to use my consignor credit after contract ended and several pieces that were labeled as "donated" on Ricochet were still on the floor for sale. If I would have known this would be the case at contract end (that my pieces would continue to be monetized after the contract ended) and not be donated to the charity mentioned at signing, I would of insisted my items were returned to me. Not cool. In response: Is this procedure of continuing to sale items after contract ends in the contract? I would suggest that, if it is not, it be added so consignor is aware on signing. It makes for better optics when a consignor sees both their item as " donated" on ricochet ( by mistake) and "for sale" after contract ends. To prevent future confusion, you might provide a copy of the contract -- either a hard copy or digital--so they can refer to it for all those items that you don't " prioritize" . In response: Absolutely positive my items by being, for instance, a pair of NWT Eileen Fisher denim pants in a 3x size. Check it. Those will be consigned under Amy Hanak.

We run a social media page for thrifters, highlighting local businesses and were so excited to get eyes on this local org. We have over 150,000 subscribers and generate over 10 million views each month. We so wanted to highlight your store, but I cannot in good conscience send my audience to your store when you have such biased policies. Just because someone shops with you for a while, doesn't mean they should be allowed to extract all the value that future consumers might come across. He was literally just naming his own prices because he got first look at everything. Paid $100 for what looked like $600-700 worth of sterling and gemstones. You are deincentivizing new business when you do this, especially during store hours. While I understand you are not a for profit thrift chain, if you are going to conduct yourself in the same line of business, I recommend you follow similar guidelines to places like GW or SA who give everyone a fair chance to find treasure. Particularly when this is an extension of your missionary outreach. We drove over an hour to get here and visit family down the street, and left SO DISAPPOINTED. We will not be back to shop or attend church after this occurrence.
