Blooming Deals Consignment in Orangevale is one of the friendliest places. Recommend you take your time when visiting. There appears to be alot to see and look through. Several years ago after my parents died, I took a lot of their antique "treasures" there to be sold. At first, I had a positive experience, a lot of it sold and I was paid in a timely manner. After several months, I decided to reclaim the things that had not sold. They were not in the store anymore. I asked for them back and the owner said "they are locked up in another storage area and I don't have a key" She promised to get my antiques back. I waited and waited, checked and checked and it was one excuse after another. I waited at least 6 weeks and bottom line....I never got my things back. She had my number and she could have made good on her promise, but she never did. I felt it was a very tacky and dishonest thing to do to me. Who knows what happened to my treasures. JEM read more

I've never met more welcoming people than the employees/owner at Bloomingdeals. I called to ask if they took women's clothing, which they do, so I drove to Orangevale to have them look at them. The sizes I brought were a little too small for what they take, but they mentioned some other places that might take them. I had about a 20 minute conversation with them while I was there. They were interested in my life & appreciated my business! I told them I had found them on Yelp & have driven by their business a couple of times. They so appreciated it. By the way, the owner mentioned she heard about the nasty review of someone driving from Sacramento & the hours being wrong. The owner has never been on Yelp & the CUSTOMERS are the people that edit the hours/days open, so if you're going to be upset, know that the owner didn't post them. I drove all the way from Midtown to check this place out on Sunday afternoon (during which they are listed as open), and they were closed. I tried calling, but their mailbox was full! Hours listed on the door or Tuesday through Saturday at 11 a.m. To 5 p.m., but that's not what's listed online. Tucked-away treasure: I'm a fan of clean, well-organized (and need I say well-priced?) thrift and consignment stores, so I was surprised to find out that this little boutique was only blocks from my home. Why had I never heard of this place? Set in an unassuming strip mall on a quiet street, Bloomingdeal's was a real find. The service was outstanding--not intrusive or pushy, but friendly and helpful. The cons: nothing for men or kids. At all. Although it sounds like that might change. The pros: lots for women. This is a total chick shop. If there was a cute little bistro right next door, this would be a shopping destination for girlfriends. There are great deals on clothes, designer bags, shoes and accessories. I got a Coach bag worth hundreds for $35! Yeah, I'm thrilled with it; can you tell? There's also a great selection of household and kitchen/dining items: some fun, some elegant, some practical--I had a hard time passing up an adorable tea set with tray,cake plates, saucers, and cups for $15. It was porcelain, blue and white, delicate and pretty--just the sort of thing you want on hand when a friend comes by for a visit. I might go back for it. . . The store is bigger than it looks from the outside, and much nicer than I expected from the outside. I am having a hard time deciding whether I want to mention this place to my friends and write this review: someone else might get the good stuff before I do! Boutique Ministry is a non-profit that donates all their money to help the homeless, prisoners (project Angeltree-- gifts for children of prisoners). Started by 4 ladies that just want to help people. Guess I should write it in their review, but worth checking out. While you're in the area. Have a delicious lunch at Namaste Nepalese- $5.99 for 7 items in their vegetarian/vegan lunch. Awesome! read more
