Savers needs to change their name, don't expect to be "saving" any money here with second hand goods that were all donated. These chain "thrift" stores don't have to spend money on any cost of goods to resell. They have overhead, but it's all free income and profit without COGS. Prices are crazy high! 0 Star if I could I had a very disappointing experience at the Savers on W. Bell Rd. near Arrowhead Mall. I was looking at three Pokémon cards displayed together for $14.99. While examining them, I noticed that two appeared to be counterfeit, so I did the right thing and told the employee. The employee then asked if I wanted the item repriced because two of the cards were fake. I said yes. She took the cards to the back for about five minutes and returned with another employee, who told me the price was now $180 because the remaining card was supposedly worth that much. I pointed out how ridiculous this was. I was the one who voluntarily told them two cards were fake. Had I said nothing, I apparently could have purchased the item for the original $14.99. Instead, after I brought the issue to their attention, the price suddenly increased by more than 12 times. I asked to speak with a manager. The manager came out and told me the employee was following policy and that I would need to speak with someone named Mike the following day. I'm not upset because they realized a card had value. I'm upset because of how the situation was handled. A customer shouldn't feel like they're being penalized for honestly pointing out counterfeit merchandise. I have contacted corporate to ask them to review what happened, including any available surveillance footage and the store's pricing policy. I hope corporate addresses this because the way this was handled felt extremely unfair and left a very bad impression of Savers. Down right criminal on my opinion. read more

I will say, they had some really neat things here. This was my first time at a Savers. I came in a Sunday. The staff were friendly. The store was clean. The prices were unreasonable in my opinion. I moved to Arizona 3 years ago and wanted to find a reputable non-profit organization in which to help the community shoppers. Savers was the first place I visited, and after walking through their store and noticing the shoppers, my heart led me to donate from that point forward. Every six months or so, I've cleaned out my cabinets to donate what I felt was of good quality and would help someone who could benefit from clothes to kitchen appliances. I simply pull up at the back of the store and the representatives retrieve the bags, or sometimes boxes of items that are being donated. I've never had an issue with this store since I've moved here. I was off Savers ever since they decided not to bring back their dressing rooms after the Covid crisis. But, I thought I'd give them one more try. Knowing that I couldn't try on the 5 pairs of pants, I was dilligent to keep the receipt so I could return the ones that didn't fit. I went back today and had just enough time to return them, but she said no. Not only is there no refund (which I knew) but also no credit! You have to stay and choose something else and do an exchange! I'm not sure who they think their clients are, but most us work and can't spend a lot of time trying on more clothes when we just want a credit to use later. Savers may be doing well financially, but it won't last once everyone realizes that not only are their prices way too high but now they are keeping our money because they don't let you try on or return clother when we find out they don't fit. Unfortunately the new backpack policy is a problem for me. I wear a leather backpack which is better for my back than carrying a heavy purse. Your policy now states that I have to check my backpack with all of my items in with an individual upfront. I'm not going to do that. I'm never embarrassed to admit that I frequent thrift shops often, I'd rather spend four bucks on a lightly used shirt than buy a fifty dollar shirt at some high-end cheap quality retail store. These places offers some pretty nice clothes, but be sure to clean everything you buy because not everyone place has the time or money to wash the clothes they get in. But that's a given. I have gotten compliments on shirts I've found here, and there are many varieties and assortments of colorful and cute clothing! If you look, you can find some very cute clothes for some very cheap prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful, although this specific location is quite busy since it runs just off the freeway but they still have so much to offer. From shoes to clothes to socks, even some cute decor for your home or a nice book to read. If you're looking for a cheap place to find some cute clothes then this is the way to go, often busy so I recommend you go during the day. But please give this place a chance! Savers has been gentrified. I cannot believe the prices that I read going into the store. Clothes with rips stains holes and more are still charged at full price. it would be cheaper to shop off of an online website, but I thrift shop because I don't support fast fashion. it is unaffordable especially to lower income people, and during this pandemic all of us have had a hard time with money. Thrift stores seem to be the only place that we can get suitable clothing, but these prices are gouged. Who do you even talk to to ask them to lower the price? No one. This is a shady corporation that profits off of the backs of lower income people. They give their workers shitty wages and overwork them, which explains why the customer service here is so dull and terrible. they get 100% of their inventory for free and capitalize as much as they can off of it. This used to be enjoyable for me, and I feel more hopeless than ever. May be the reason why you guys have to increase your prices so much is because no one will buy them at such high prices so you must price each individual one for more. Try selling things for cheap and see the store clear out, it's hard to even look at the clothes with the racks completely stuffed. I hope the general manager takes this into consideration. When I'm in the area and need to waste some time, I come here as I usually can find at least one item that is a good deal and I feel like it's money well spent. The store is a good size, but not as large as the one I used to shop at in Las Vegas. This store is well stocked with a little bit of everything. From small household items, furniture, clothing, shoes, electronics and many other items. Even though I usually buy from the clothing side, I have found some good deals on some small kitchen appliances like a George Foreman grill for $4 and it looked almost brand new. Clothing like any used items is a give or take. Sometimes I come in here and found lots of great items in my size for a great price and sometimes I can only find 1 item. The store does offer discount days for Seniors and if you're a club member and they always offer 1/2 on a certain color for that day/week. read more

I came here on Saturday on a second hand store rummage day out with my husband and I just have to say that I don't get it, Savers. I. Don't. Get. It. First let me start by pointing out something that you guys may have forgotten, you are a secondhand store, not a resale store for gently used merchandise or even a consignment shop. There *is* a difference. Your stuff is no nicer than a standard Goodwill's stuff, yet you think you can command about twice the price for your stuff?? Uh, no. Yeah, it's clean and organized in comparison to a Goodwill, but it still smells like my grandma's closet, or maybe even my musty garage after a humid day. Why? Because it's STILL a secondhand store, full of unwashed goods, of questionable provenance, from other people. I found a wall mounted coat rack that I really liked and would have purchased, but it was $10. Uh, sorry, but that isn't that awesome of a deal. And my husband found some well loved, North Face snow pants that would have been a good deal for something slightly less than the $25 they wanted for them, AND if they hadn't also been ripped at the bottom so I would have had to mend them anyway... c'mon Savers, really? Adding to all this is the fact that they weren't even offering any kind of point of sale discount, coupons, nothing... At least Goodwill was running a 50% off everything deal that same day. I did hear an overhead announcement that said that if you register online with Savers and give them your email address they'll send you coupons, but who really wants Spam from a secondhand store? I certainly don't. I much prefer a point of sale discount that requires no sharing of my personal contact information, thankyouverymuch. Saver's whether you guys like it or not, Goodwill IS your competition, so you better step up your game to actually compete with them. I'll be clear, I'm not cheap and I'd like to consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of the secondhand stores across the Valley (hell, I was raised shopping in secondhand stores) but I refuse to pay those kinds of prices for that kind of merchandise. I wanted to write this review because after giving thousands of dollars in donations over the years, I was mistakingly under the impression that Savers hired people with disabilities. I have had 2 family members work for Savers and even though they enjoyed the job, they were surprised to meet a high quota and were both let go after 2 months. Neither remembered being told about the quota but were reminded that they reviewed it in the orientation onboarding. When you go through orientation, there is so much to review in orientation that neither of them ever remembered. The management at this place treated the employees well but it is just a shame that they discriminate against people that really need. read more

I purchased a jewelry jar on Senior day for 22.00 dollars after discount. I asked the lady in the jewelry counter if it had broken jewelry and she stated no. My husband and I went into this location today, and he found a jacket that he thought would be perfect for work. The tag said, light weight mens jacket XL $6.49. When we went to the register to pay, the cashier Andrea and the manager Shantee said that wasnt the actual price of the jacket because the tag had been tampered with and the actual price was $14. Maybe, the tag had been tampered with but they actually made us feel like we were the ones who had tampered with the tag! This is the worst experience I have ever had anywhere, in my life.
