My kids and I love checking out thrift shops. White Dove was one we had not been too and glad we stopped in. The donation funds are for hospice of the valley which is amazing. The items and store were clean and there is clothes, books, shoes, antique items etc. Best of all the prices are true thrift prices. We will stop in and checkout what they have again soon! read more

Always looking for a good place to donate to (Maggie's Place, Phoenix Children's, Veterans, etc), and a neighbor told me about this place. They were easy to find, plenty of parking, and donating is a breeze. I was able to back in, donate in the bins provided, and go inside to check it out. The vintage dish ware was cute, clothes selection was vast, and there were some pretty cool kids stuff. I was able to get my kid a series of books for $1 (1/2 off)! Everyone I spoke with there was really friendly. Last time i came here i got SO MUCH STUFF because everything is great quality and priced reasonably- but i thought i got overcharged by accident! they pointed it out that i misread which, silly me i don't know how i did that i felt so silly, but they still took care of me and were so sweet and- just come here. You'll be talked up by lovely people and learn so much and there's new stuff all the time. The Hospice of the Valley organization is great, this is not directed in any way directed towards them or the great things they do in the valley. My mother recently passed away and before she did, she asked that I donate some of her household to the White Dove thrift store as the Hospice of the Valley team had been very helpful to my father before he passed away a few years ago. I had been going there daily to drop off full truckloads from the contents of my parents' home. The first day was everything from the kitchen and dining room including my mothers leaded cut crystal collection. The second day was all the clothes, all clean and on hangers totaling over 300 hanging items not including the 6 large 50 gallon sized black plastic bags full of casual clothing. The third day I arrived around 3pm, two hours before they closed. I pulled up as normal, I saw that they had 6 large plastic bins larger than bathtubs all empty. I thought that was great and it would be an easy quick donation as I had 20+ boxes all full of jewelry, antiques, curio cabinet items and my fathers collection of old toys. To my surprise the gentleman who had been helping me unload the last few days asked me to wait before I started to unload which, I thought was odd. A few minutes later a lady with a store name tag came out and advised that she didn't think they wouldn't be able to take my items as they had been so overwhelmed with the amount of contributions I had already brought and they wanted to have all donations processed each day before they go home. She confirmed that she knew that I had been very generous in the last few days and advised that she would need the assistant manager to make the call. The assistant manager came out a few minutes later and said she wouldn't take my truck full of donations as they wanted to leave on time. I said you have all these empty bins, why wouldn't you just fill them and process them the next day. She said it's their policy to process all the donations each day so that they can start the next day fresh without being behind. I can only hope that this person is a volunteer and not paid personnel as they may have chosen the wrong person to represent them. I left very upset and will not return as I had been going out of my way to support a great parent organization. I am in no way suggesting that you don't' continue to donate items or purchase items from their store just because of this issue. Thankfully another charity close by called Desert Industries at 6825 W. Bell Rd was able to take all my items without any issues, they were very thankful for the large donation. I have also since cancelled the large furniture donation I had scheduled with the White Dove. After my last experience I no longer wanted to wait for the collection date. I found another great charity called "Thrive" they work with foster kids and their families during their time of need for housing, furniture and emotional support. They can schedule and send out a truck to collect most furniture and household items. Thrive can be contacted at 602-503-5566. Charities depend on donations to survive, during economic situations of uncertainty like we are in it is important to help them. I encourage everyone to help when you can and to choose a good charity as you have many choices out there. read more

Okay! New favorite thrift store in Arizona! Upon walking in, I immediately fell in love with this thrift store. Not only is it clean and nice, but the prices reflect prices of an actual thrift store! Forget Goodwill or Savers with their blown up prices. The White Dove charges reasonably for their items. On their website it says, "Many items sold at The White Dove are donated by family members of patients we have served. The stores offer unique finds for the avid thrifter and treasure hunter. Items also go to patients in need. Anything that cannot be used or sold is donated to other charities. The White Dove Thrift Shoppes support Hospice of the Valley's mission--bringing comfort and dignity as life nears its end. Sale proceeds fund many specialized and innovative patient-care programs and help lower the cost of charity care. No one is ever turned away, regardless of insurance status or financial means." Which makes me love the place even more! Their workers are also as kind as can be and seem like they really enjoy what they do. Another huge thing that puts them above goodwill and savers in my book is their changing rooms are actually open! I understand closing them when we were in the middle of the pandemic, but things are almost fully back to normal and I'm tired of walking away from clothes just because I cannot try them on. Overall, I'm going to this thrift store every time. I have fallen in love and you can't change my mind. Go check it out yourself!! read more

I thought I only spent an hour shopping, but I ended up being there for three hours today! Time flies when you're having fun! I bought pants, shirts, a dress, a tie for my fiancé, and I spent under $30, even though I mostly got name brands! Also, the staff is super friendly. You have to really take the time to look, but it's like a treasure hunt. I'll be coming back! read more

I am addicted to this charitable thrift store it serves hospice. Every Monday is senior discount day get 25% off everything. Their gracious workers and volunteers are always happy to greet or help everyone, love going there! I donate stuff including furniture, I recommend always call ahead to check status for pick up. read more

Its theeee place for wall art and frames. Amazing pieces most for just 10 to 20 bucks but more unique pieces from local artist go for more. Found canvas printed Norman Rockwells , hobby lobby pieces, Eastern and western influenced. A little bit of everything. Would be perfect for staging a home. read more

I recently moved here from Chicago where I was a regular thrift shopper so I've seen a lot of stores! This sweet shop benefits Hospice with 100% of the profits and all the workers are volunteers. The caliber of stuff here is very quality! The store is well organized and they have a lot of nice finds I found a cute marble pedestal table for $30, which isn't dirt cheap but considering the proceeds go to a good cause I was happy to pay it. I will definitely come back. They also offer discounts regularly. read more
