It's a cute wine place with a small outdoor patio that allows dogs. We ordered a dog treat from the menu for our boy - home baked cookie with pumpkin and apples ($4.5) We ordered sangria ($8) which has the right blend of red wine, brandy and fruit. They also offer wine flights. We ordered a cheese fondue ($32) which came with roasted vegetables, apples, and bread. I thought it was a little on the expensive side. For protein we ordered a side of salmon ($10) which was coated with spices and okay. We also had a house salad with mixed springs ($7). Service was professional and friendly. Everyone there is an animal lover and have a dog/dogs. We'll be back to try their sandwiches.

Killer night, this place is special, Shannon and crew were amazing. The food, the atmosphere, the tourists wearing Kemosabe hats . Just awesome!

Such a cute spot for some wine and light food, perfect for a date night. It's small and can get busy. Strip mall type parking. The owners are so friendly and have done a great job w the place. We got the bread which came with this lovely homemade butter, can't remember the exact wine we got but it was fairly priced and tasted good too. There's a cozy deck with a view of the area I will definitely return here when back in the area

Stubbled upon by Google! It did not disappoint all the staff was incredibly welcoming. The wine was great! The vibe was even better... and they donate to dogs what more do you want? We love great places and this is one. We did not try the food, however everything we saw come out looked great.

Cool little spot for apres ski. We had the charcuterie board, fondue, and potato skins. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the fondue was a bit too runny for me (I make it all the time and like a bit more depth) and the service started great , but as they got busier, we waited quite a while to get a take home box and our check. Overall - lovely and worth a visit!

Our happy place! Menu is amazing, art, DOG friendly, can dress up or dress down, good music, solid wine and an in-house along w pairing recommendations. Their cocktails are also phenom and they have really great made for to go deserts and dinners..not yo mention the only pup cup my dog will eat, and fun games and books, lovely patio, and all that jazz. My SO literally hates eating out but actually told me he enjoyed this place. Lastly (sort of) amazing happy hour times, options, live music, location/scenery, and the servers are SUPER good at remembering names and orders and are just a joy...like I said, our happy place!

We read a couple of reviews before going there yesterday. We loved their mission so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the cassoulet and a salad and finished with the chocolate fondue for dessert. Everything was delicious! Also, the service was excellent since we were the only ones in the restaurant at 2 PM. We will be back!

The place inside is small, but its still spacious enough that you're not crammed against the other tables. From the moment you're walking up to the place it calls your attention cause its located in the historic Gold Pan Saloon. And the decor inside follows that rustic saloon winery vibes with barrel decors and a crazy ceiling design. They have a great bar area for tastings or a glass of wine as well. I opted for the wine flight, which was great. It included 3 different types of red wines and they were each delicious. My fav was the cabernet franc. It was the best of the 3 for me. For food we went with the Red Rocker charcuterie board and it was great. They pick the 2 cheeses and 2 proteins, which are a rotating selection, along with pickled veggies and a spread with homemade wine tortilla chips. What I love about it is that you can tell the board is freshly made when it's ordered. I was also able to try a piece of the bruschetta with Poached Figs, Whipped Goat Cheese, Honey & Pine Nuts and it was to die for. If goat cheese is your thing, do not skip out on this one. The whipped cheese is crazy, Amazing texture and flavor. We stopped by a couple of days later for a glass of wine and it was packed but they were nice enough to let us stand on the side enjoying a glass till a seat opened up at the bar. I got a glass of their "house red" which is divine. Great body and perfectly balanced. And did I mention it's only $10?!? Totally worth it. Perfect place to relax and unwind.

And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. So for your next foodie vacation in Vail, make sure to include Root & Flower in your list.

Price: Expect standard Vail pricing for high-end cocktails, with most drinks ranging between $16-$20. Customer Service: The service was fantastic. The staff was incredibly kind and efficient; even though we stayed for quite a while to catch up, we felt welcomed and well-attended to the entire night. Atmosphere This spot has a cool, welcoming vibe that feels very safe. It's the kind of environment where you can really settle in and enjoy the company you're with. The Drinks I ordered the Sangre del Sol. The flavor was amazing, though be warned it is very strong! It's an excellent choice if you enjoy a cocktail with a serious kick, but I ended up letting my friend finish mine after a few sips. Overall Experience I highly recommend Root & Flower for a beautiful setting and top-tier service. Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at the S. Frontage Rd. East garage right nearby. I'll definitely be back!

The martini was tasty but half of it was missing like where's the rest of my drink ‍. Second I had to ask for plates, not sure how you forget but remembered to give them to the table next to me ‍. At this point I'm over it and prefer my experience at raticato. Next strike, you ask us to order everything and you'll course it out but instead you interrupt us mid chew and ask to clear the table for our meals, absolutely unacceptable. How do you rush your customers. I get it's 8pm but you're open until 9:30 and if you're in a rush go home and send a server that wants to be there. Service, service, service. It was absolutely non existent and at a restaurant that isn't McDonalds prices, do better. You never came back to our table and asked if the food came out ok or if we needed more drinks. As a matter of fact, my spouse walked to the bar and ordered their own drink, unacceptable. Absolutely ridiculous. We couldn't enjoy our meal because the service was so poor and I'd absolutely not return. We had the Halibut, which was tasty but could do without the ro and the chicken dish, which was prepared well. The steak tartare was just ok and the bread and hummus was a good addition. Nah, wouldn't recommend. Please have a conversation with Olivia Z., if she's having a day she needs to exit and not work that day in hospitality.
