Where to start...Food, Service, Creativity, Value, Friendliness...? The Food is the star and the creative Twist (thus the name of the restaurant), the chef provides. We have never done this at a restaurant before, but we went to Twist 2 nights in a row. It is that good! We had to go back because we wanted to taste everything on the menu that we could. We had a friend who was there the same day on the other side of the restaurant that we did not see, but he said it was the best pasta dish in Colorado! Everyone was so accommodating to our group of 4 adults and 2 children. We felt at home in the beautiful Victorian home setting. We sat outside in the front yard with a majestic view of the mountains and sat back and enjoyed great food, great wine, and stellar service (shout out to Connor who took care of us the first night). They have a Happy Hour that is fabulous, but please do not limit yourself to the Happy Hour menu. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Our group kept debating what dish was the best....so many favorites. Here are some of our favorites in no particular order: Elote Street Corn Bibb - We made salad wraps of charred corn, cotija cheese, bacon and tomatoes...) Mussels - I know every restaurant has a mussel dish on their menu, but these were sublime. Love the touch of sausage to the dish! Cheese & Charcuterie Board - excellent, excellent curation! Great local cheeses paired with artisan meats...cudos on the Duck Prosciutto! Lobster Roll - All Lobster, Butter on a toasted bun....simple and so good! Shrimp and Pancetta Tagliatelle - The pasta is charred. Yes you heard that right charred pasta. The chef explained he experienced a similar dish in Italy during his travels and came back home to replicate it in his Restaurant - Thank You Chef Delicious! As our friend said "Best Pasta Dish in Colorado!" We live in the Chicagoland area, but can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu! This is a long winded review and I could go on and on, but do yourself a favor and head to the mountains and Twist in Breckenridge. It is very pocketbook friendly compared to the quality food, and exceptional service you receive! read more

We stopped by recently for date night while visiting Breckenridge and had one of the best meals ever. We shared the lamb chops (not pictured), the escargot, and the almond crusted ruby red trout. It was all delicious, but the trout was especially phenomenal. It's been weeks, and I am still daydreaming about it. While the food was excellent, the wait between dishes was a bit long. While waiting, we were fortunate to enjoy homemade focaccia, fresh from the kitchen. We absolutely loved Twist. We will definitely be back next time we are in town! read more

Food, service, and ambience we're all top-notch. We were served by Erica, who was really knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations and the whole vibe on the patio was amazing. We had the trout and the buffalo fillet and the butterfish and we enjoyed every bit of it as we split those three things in our party of four. The building was unassuming but lovely once inside. We had really excellent service. The server was well-informed about specials and appetizers for our party to share. Twist in Breckenridge is such a charming gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a welcoming host and shown to a table on the upper level. The space is inviting with a warm and relaxed ambiance. Our server was friendly and added to the overall excellent dining experience. My friend ordered the steak and gave me a sample, it was fantastic. I ordered the Almond Crusted Seared Ruby Red Trout, and it was outstanding. Perfectly cooked & flavorful. I really enjoyed the almond crust, a nice subtle crunch. Plus, the base had some sort of crunchy noodles? I wish I knew the name! For dessert, our group shared the Flourless Chocolate Torte with Peanut Butter Mousse and the Bourbon Apple Churro Crumble. Both were delicious. My favorite was the chocolate one because I'm a lover of chocolate. It was decadent and the smooth sweet peanut butter complemented it perfectly. Came for HH and it is one of the best in town. We got everything on the HH menu food wise and they were all fantastic. Lamb chops, fries, venison carpaccio, bison sliders. Drinks were good too! It was off the beaten path, but I'm glad I looked it up on Yelp as it didn't disappoint! Started off with the bib caesar..perfect portion and all the flavors were balanced. Happy Hour took $5 off, bonus! For my main I chose the Pork chop... not much smoke, but perfectly cooked and sides were great! Opted for the truffle gelato to round out the meal, very tasty, and a huge portion. Ambiance is chic cozy cottage, service was average, and prices were in line with the area. We have been to nearly every restaurant in Breck over out 14 years here. Twist is our favorite. From the excellent cocktails with exceptional nuanced flavor profiles, to the outstanding appetizers and entrees AND deserts, this place does not disappoint. I don't care who else has Michelin whatever, this place has the food, cocktails and atmosphere to spare. First off, this is a very nice restaurant in a classic vintage house right in the middle of Breckenridge town. The atmosphere, service and creative menu are excellent. My only real issue is the menu is somewhat limited in variety, portions . Also, "creativity " can sometimes miss the target of quality. For example, the bison steak is unique but so tough as to almost be un-edible. The trout is excellent as well as some chef's specials but just be careful to make sure of what you are ordering. read more

Stumbled upon this gem with the girls and snagged a reservation on a weekday. Seated by the cozy fireplace and it was the perfect atmosphere we were looking for. Food was fantastic. We visited Twist in late February and had a wonderful dinner! We had a large group (7 people) and were seated at a very comfortable round table on the second floor. The room is lovely with wonderful artwork and the seating is spaced out comfortably so that you can hear others at the table! We shared a range of small plates as recommended by the waitstaff and chef/owner. All were amazing including the Caesar salad, lamb chops, and calimari. This was my favorite restaurant in Breck!!! First off the greeter/bar tender asked which of the3 floors we wanted and since we had a member of our group with a torn Achilles tendon, they seated us on the main floor so no more stairs for him to climb. Super nice! The out server, Ashley, was just as elite and made the dinner even better! She was cheerful, charming, beautiful, accommodating and attentive. Couldn't have asked for better! And it was her 3rd night! Then the food...OMG! We had lobster rolls that were amazing. Wasn't keen on the hot dog buns but they were good. Then sister and I shared the small plate lamb chops that were good. Other person had the bison tenderloin and he said it was great. I tasted the sauce and it was amazing. FYI: their medium rare would be rare in some restaurants. But the finale!!! Dessert was flourless chocolate cakes, 3 little hearts! With peanut butter mousse and fresh strawberries!!! We had a great birthday celebration for a party of 15. It was nice working with Derrick with the pre-planning details. Derrick and our server Max were efficient, personable and always checking in. Our dinners were fabulous. We ordered various dishes and we enjoyed the amazing cuisine. We selected the smoked pork chops [our fav], almond seared trout, mahi mahi koi soi and crispy chicken. Randy the owner was out and abou. very passionate about the food and the food reflected that. I had the short ribs and my buddy got the rib eye both off the specials menu. Cooked perfectly The calamari was great the chili aioli gave just a little kick. I've had the love of pork which has been on the specials menu and is "liquid" (phenomenal). This is our 2nd vacation to Breck & our second time at Twist. The convenience of the restaurant is amazing, it's located one street behind Main Street, Easily Accessible from our hotel, which was a few blocks down. We made reservations and were accommodated promptly when we came in. The food was good, the portions are medium sized. We had the elk, the mac & cheese, and the pork wings...yes, I said pork wings *I'm guessing pigs fly now*. I didn't get any pictures bc their drinks put me on my a55. Some highlights were the mussels, the venison carpaccio, and pork chops. Happy hour is limited to the bar but that worked out well for me and my family. We had really good old fashioneds and enjoyed the pleasant conversation of the bartender. He was very helpful with recommendations and very accommodating. The whole place felt extremely warm with nice decor and a busy but not too packed dining area and bar. Really a great place if you want unique, elevated food and warm atmosphere in Breckenridge. We had a really nice dinner here again the other night. It's slower right now in Breckenridge ahead of ski season so it's a great time to wander in. Ethan did a great job and was super helpful throughout the meal. He took great care of us. We had the special corn clam chowder which was a really lovely. Not too heavy, a nice balance of flavors and delicious. Then I went trout (always great here) and my wife had the new chicken preparation. While the chicken was excellent she was in seventh heaven with the polenta--and she is a polenta snob. I had a bite and it was pretty special. The twisted swizzle and shantaram are two nice lighter drinks--not sure how long they will around given the season but nice and refreshing. read more

Personal pet peeve when a restaurant provides one thing for the menu and a different version for happy hour. Twist is one of two restaurants in Breckenridge that does this. Wife and I went for happy hour on a Friday in September. Outstanding experience. Our Old Fashioned and Margarita were very tasty. We order Happy Hour "House Fries," Clam Chowder," Mussels," and "Chicharonnes." All were excellent. Best part of our dining was engaging Sarah our attentive, helpful and informative waitress. We had the Field Green salad, and Bibb Caesar to start, both delicious and uniquely outstanding. For entrees the Pork Chop, which I was told was unbelievable and the Smoked Korean Tempeh which I can attest was out of this world! Excellent experience. First impression was the service. We had to make a change because our whitewater trip went long, no problems with that at all. Sarah was our server and she was great with recommendations. We started with the 2 appetizer special -- pork wings and Puri Puri. The pork wings tasted. every bit ad good as the photos. They were cooked perfectly and the bulgogi sauced used on them was very good. The puri puri was a great little surprise. The shrimp, humus and corn with the sauce was very tasty. Our entrees were the lamb shank, mahi mahi and mac and cheese. I did ask for the lamb to medium and it was well done. It was still tender and moist. The mahi mahi was a curry style and they did great at adjusting the spice for 3 different diners. The mac n cheese was also flavor with multiple cheeses blending together for a good taste. I dread the parking in Breck during the holidays but it wasn't so bad. Charming restaurant inside an old converted house. Servers were friendly, knowledgeable and great even during a very busy night. Hot toddies were perfect to warm us up. The venison tartare was perfection, wow, we all loved it. Mushroom and onion soup was also wonderful and rich. Octopus & potatoes were good. Thank you again for an amazing meal! We keep returning - including with the kids They were so helpful in accommodating our reservation (moving the time as well as helping with a wheelchair). We decided to go on the earlier side with the kids. I enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Everyone was so sweet. We worked through what to order for the kids (not a traditional kids menu fyi). I am happy for ours to order something of the provided menu. However, Twist offered to make buttered noodles and both kids went for that. The menu changes, but during our visit (December 2024), my husband and I split the Almond Crusted Seared Ruby Red Trout. It was so good. In addition, we had the soup which our oldest took over, so we got the left overs. No complaints! read more
