Yes, and definitely yes! Tequila and tacos--how can you possibly go wrong? We grabbed seats at the bar, looked over the menu, and I immediately ordered a tequila soda with jalapeños. If you enjoy a little spice in your cocktail, I highly recommend it. Since we were only in town for one night, we planned on hopping around downtown and trying several different places, so we kept it simple and ordered three tacos to share. There were quite a few tempting options on the menu, and every taco we tried was delicious. Looking back, we honestly should have just stayed here all night eating tacos and drinking tequila because none of the other places we visited afterward lived up to this experience. The atmosphere was bright, lively, and fun, with a great location right on the boardwalk. Between the food, drinks, and overall vibe, this ended up being one of our favorite stops of the trip. We'll absolutely be returning the next time we're in town. Tacos, margaritas and chips and dip 10/10 I came with a group craving some good tacos and a solid margarita. We didn't leave disappointed. Margaritas were tasty with lots of flavors to choose from. We tried the chips and dip trio. Guacamole was amazing and so was the queso. The salsa we had was okay but would probably choose something different next time we visit. Everyone loved their tacos with everyone having a taste of something different. We finished it off with churros which were just as great as the ones in Disney! Our waiter was very friendly and had good recommendations for tacos to try! It wasn't too busy when we first got there but picked up as the night went on! Went here for the 1st time and I have to say we really enjoyed it. The ambiance is nice on the inside and the waitstaff very friendly and helpful. My wife had to Sangria Spritz and it was very delicious and refreshing. I had the Kessler Margarita which was also very good. To eat, we spit the pork belly chicharron and the 3 tacos plate. The pork belly was outstanding and we spit the tacos with 2 Carnitas and 1 chicken. They were done very well and very tasty and filling. All in all a very nice place and we will be back. My birria tacos had hardly any meat or onions and no cilantro. Both ends of each taco were empty, so only the middle had some meat in it. The consumé came in a tiny condiment cup and it was watery. I was disappointed bc it's my favorite part of eating birria tacos. My drink had barely any tequila in it and was mostly ice. I would say I had five good sips total. The quac is mostly just crushed avocado with maybe some cilantro here and there, and the salsa just didn't taste right. The restaurant itself looked cool and was clean. The service was decent. They wouldn't let us sit outside during lunchtime. One appetizer, two meals, and two drinks is over $100. Edit: I'm reading the other reviews right now, and I swear they're paid. The food and drinks are so mid. Even if it was cheaper, I wouldn't say the food is worth more than 3 1/2 stars. read more

We are currently staying at the JW Marriott this evening and the next evening and we decided to eat here for dinner. My mom had the enchiladas Banderos with a glass of Prosecco; and I had a cucumber breeze with the Asada tacos. Shanna was our server; She was amazing and very nice. We got waters with lemon on ice to drink along with a different cocktail of choice. Straight up, if you're rolling through Savannah, you've gotta check out Savannah Tequila Co. I grabbed a spread of tacos and the shrimp were totally killer--easily the MVP of the plate. The carnitas were a close second and definitely tight, but the beef was just aight, nothing to get stoked about. Now, here's the real 411 on the drinks: don't just order a margarita off the menu because those are pre-made and honestly kind of bogus. If you want a drink that's actually legit, pick out a specific tequila you like and ask them to hook it up as a margarita from scratch. It makes a world of difference compared to the batch stuff. Another cog in the wheel of the JW Marriott/Plant Riverside District. This place is good at what it's meant for: keeping guests in the general hotel area, having them spend money within the system (and forced to in the case of the hotel destination fee). It's also in a pretty riverside location, so one can't argue with that. Savannah Tequila Co. is basic salsa and chips, tostadas and taquitos, Americanized "Mexican" food, like chicken nachos and Mexican chicken salad. There are also enchiladas, chimichangas, and street tacos. The tacos average about 5-6 bucks each. For a place with Tequila in the name, their drink list is pretty limited. They have the traditional margarita, spicy margarita, a mule, and a couple other drinks. They also have frozen cocktails and beer. I had the basic margarita and it really was basic, nothing special, and not the best I've ever had. Service was okay. There were a couple of couples who monopolized the bartender for long periods of time just chatting, and either he didn't notice or couldn't tear away, so it took a while for me to get my order. This is not the place to go for a gourmet meal or amazing Mexican or Tex-Mex food or anything of the like. This is a place to go for a quick bite and a to-go marg by the river. read more

I've had great experiences at Savannah Tequila Company before-servers, hostesses, and overall vibe have always been on point. This review is specifically about the bartenders during our most recent visit... because wow. The female bartender? Incredible. Friendly, attentive, exactly what you'd expect at a place like this. Now for the issue: the two male bartenders (mullet and top knot). From the second we walked up, mullet acted like we personally ruined his day by ordering drinks. The attitude was immediate-short, annoyed responses, zero effort to be welcoming. When I asked for a simple margarita (tequila, lime, agave), he hit me with an eye roll and a condescending "I know how to make a margarita." Cool-then maybe try making one without the attitude? Top knot wasn't any better-same dismissive energy, like basic customer interaction was a burden. The whole vibe behind the bar felt more like we were bothering them than paying customers. It's honestly wild how two people can drag down the experience of an otherwise great spot. I'll still come back, but I'll definitely think twice about sitting at the bar. read more

Well if you want to be ignored this is the place to go. To be fair it was a Saturday night and they were busy. But all the bartenders (Taylor and Murch) work with their heads down. They do not greet you when you sit down and it took awhile to be acknowledged. Never gave us water after asking twice too. They either need more help or better training. I would say Murch warmed up after we were here for awhile and it was less busy. He was a nice guy and friendly. Taylor on the other hand must have been having a bad night lol. She had the personality or a dead possum. I started with the frozen pina colada margarita. My husband was impressed with the tequila selections. He got a margarita with Don Fulano Fuerte. The pina colada margarita was insane. I could drink this on the daily and wish this place was in my hometown. We also got the trio sampler which comes with a salsa of your choice (we choose the charred tomato), the white queso and the guacamole. The guacamole was the standout. Great lemon/citrus forward. Second drinks were the frozen eternal summer margarita, I was going to get the watermelon float but the bartender said the strawberry was better so I went with his recommendation. I preferred the pina colada margarita. The eternal one was too tart for me. My husband got another margarita, this time with Ocho Plato. He liked this tequila better, it was a little smoother. For dinner I got the shrimp lobster enchiladas. Fantastic. They come with a red sauce that's savory but has a little kick. Flavorful, light but filling at the same time. My husband got the chicken tinga taquitos. Holy amaze balls these were the freakin star of the show. Would order time and time again. Overall thoughts, food is good, drinks are good. They would get another star if the staff and service were better. The bar emptied out and the bartenders were still always heads down. There was garbage and empty drinks all over the place. Cartons of apple juice out. Just really poor. Where is the bus boys and training here? One of the bartenders (Taylor) was so salty she never acknowledged a single customer. For a tourist location they need to do way better. The margaritas are also premade and from a draft, for $15 that a little steep for a pour. read more

The drinks are amazing! They have the boujee tequilas as well which I highly recommend trying if you feel like splurging. We got tacos and the fish taco was my favorite! We sat next to the nicest guy and talked to him some and he ended up ordering us churros on him because I didn't see a dessert menu and he said we had to try them. We sat in an area that needed to be clean and someone came over within a couple of minutes to pick up the plates, but she didn't wipe down the area (which would have been nice). Ordered quesq and drinks when we sat down. I got the spicy margarita which was really good. My friend got the eternal margarita and didn't like it (at all). It was just sour and the taste of tequila was not there on either of our opinions. After waiting for 15ish min, we waved down the bartender to place food orders. I ordered the nachos and my friend for the Baja fish tacos, and two sangrias. Sangrias were really good and food was just okay. Nothing super special to race about, but served its purpose in feeding us. Overall, I give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. read more

I was really excited to try Savannah Tequila Company because it's rated as one of the best restaurants in savannah on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the hype at all. I'll start with the FEW positives. The service was genuinely great, and the queso was solid. Everything else was awful. The spicy margarita and the Kessler margarita were both bad. Not just underwhelming, but flat and poorly balanced. The blanco tequila flight had a few decent tequilas, but it was served with rock salt that was closer to ice cream salt and something you would never want with tequila. No limes were offered, only oranges, which made no sense imo. As well as you could tell the oranges were incorrectly stored with florals, as the citrus palette cleanser was not present just a HEAVY elevating floral effect, not ideal for tequila shots, ANYWHERE in the WORLD. The food was even worse. The chicken tortilla soup was insanely flat and desperately needed lime or any kind of acidity. It tasted unfinished. The chicken mole enchiladas did not taste like mole at all. It honestly felt like someone went to Mexico once and tried to recreate the flavors from memory with no recipe. For a bill that was $120 plus tip, this was insanely overpriced for the quality of food we received. The value just is not there. Save your time and your money. read more

Was traveling in Savannah while on a work trip and was looking for a place to eat with good drinks. Honesty there are plenty of places to choose from on the Riverside on the Historic River Street, but saw this place with 'Tequila' and had to try. The place is nicely air conditioned and pretty clean. We decided to sit at the bar as we wanted to be seated right away as we were very hungry. There are plenty of drink options and even a tequila sample trio. I ended up with a couple of different margaritas. They were delicious and refreshing and hit the spot. The food was also good for Latin food in the south. The only reason why I am giving this place a 3 star is because the service just wasn't there. We had to call the bartender/ waiter over several times just to get a drink or to order food and honestly there wasn't much people at the bar or even in the restaurant itself. They were nice but nothing special and made the experience not as appealing. What i ate/drank: - Spicy Margarita: not super spicy but still delicious - Cucumber Breeze: this was my favorite drink I had. Was craving some Mexican cuisine and decided to try this place since I was staying nearby. Checked in with the host since I made a reservation but decided to sit at the bar since it wasn't busy. I was a little bummed she marked me as a no show later when I checked my app. They had a lot of fun options for margaritas and tequila. I tried 3 things since I couldn't make up my mind. The bartender was accommodating of my needs, not super pleasant, but nice enough. The ambiance was vibrant and decor fit the vibe. Crispy Chicharron- I do love me some pork belly and they give you a heaping scoop of guacamole. My only complaint with this is it was served with a small side of warm salsa. I personally don't eat salsa warm at all so it threw me off when I went to try and did not enjoy it or the flavor. I asked for just regular salsa verde instead (which was cold) 3 tacos - I asked for corn but it was made with flour by accident. They quickly got it fixed for me and the manager even stopped by to apologize and let me know it was working. Very nice! I asked for the mango salsa on the side which I enjoyed. They give you a good amount of meat as well. Chipotle Coffee rub ribs - HOLY COW! This was one of the most amazing ribs I've ever eaten. They were fork tender and the flavors of sweet, savory, spicy and a touch of bitter was excellent! The rice underneath was a great accompaniment and I wish I had more. The tangy slaw on top was a nice touch. I was blown away by this and pleasantly surprised. I will literally be back to only eat this dish and it was a big portion. read more

This was a last minute choice for us while looking for Mexican cuisine. We sat outside on their small but quaint patio. The Kessler Margarita is a specialty although, personally I found it mild in flavor and no hint of tequila (I enjoy a little tequila taste). The food was delicious. We shared two meals, the enchilada bandera and three tacos ( pork, asada and Baja fish) we started with the pork belly chi Charon and enjoyed it all. This was my second attempt to visit this restaurant. The first time it was super busy and the wait was over an hour. I'm glad I circled back. We arrived midday, received a friendly welcome and were sat immediately. Our server was prompt and helpful. They remembered to keep my very thirsty table mate with full glasses of water. The food menu is simple and the drink menu was extensive. They even had bunny themed drinks since it was Easter weekend. Our food arrived quickly at an appropriate temperature. Even my picky 12yo was happy with the huge nacho appetizer she ordered as her meal. I had the birria tacos and the bunny punch. The tacos were well seasoned and tender but a little greasy.
