I enjoyed Bubba Garcia's. This new restaurant is certainly a go-to now. It is located on Bay Street. The Drayton Hotel is close to it. Parking on the street is available. Restrooms are located at the back of the restaurant. The restaurant like many from the street on Bay may look small, but it has a good bit of space. There is a nice long bar, and plenty of tables for seating. I appreciate that they did not squeeze tables in. You do not feel like you are touching your neighbors table. It matters, thank you Bubba Garcia's! The food was delicious! I loved my Tostada Tower. The best way to describe it is a burrito bowl and nachos combined. It has all of those elements but stacked. I will skip the guacamole next time. It was so much food and tasted great! Also the chips and salsa brought to the table were delicious too! I definitely will be back. Thank you Bubba Garcia's!

Took advice from Eater Savannah and tried this place. Meh. The portions are huge, so if you're really hungry, that's a good thing. The location on Bay Street is convenient to the river and stuff, so that's cool. The vibe is...uh...a place to eat and drink...and there were sports on TV. The server was friendly, but let empty glasses sit for too long. The food wasn't bad, per se (although the tuna on my poke taco was definitely past its prime), it was just kinda bland and boring. I didn't expect super authentic or core memory 1am street tacos in Mazatlan or anything in a place lovingly dubbed "rednexican", but the flavor just wasn't there. I will say the corn cake elote things were really good. Otherwise...meh.

Was very excited to try this new spot in downtown Savannah. Had the buffalo shrimp tacos! They were quite tasty. Washed it down with the MacDaddy Margarita. To top it all off they had the Braves game on the humongous TV. Definitely my kind of place.

    Tuna taco

You can tell the pico has been sitting in the fridge for a WHILE, I don't have a picture of the guacamole but it was BROWN, the whole cup was brown. The tuna was BROWN, even though it was raw; it shouldn't be brown. My family got tacos with over half, if not all of the ingredients missing besides the meat. The first warning was that there were no people inside. Got charged for add on that I never got. We got a chicken quesadilla, and the chicken tasted like it was from a can.

taco salad (with bacon for some reason), chicken burrito, elote bites, stale chips

Probably one of the worst mexican restaurants i've been to :( chips were stale, queso tasted funny, food was really cold, drinks were good but tasted like they had no alcohol. service was good, but not friendly just good. ambiance was... well it was completely empty, the only people enjoying their food were the kids. super expensive for nasty food

The place is closed. Out of business. We went to it and there is a For Lease Sign on the front door.

The only thing disappointing about this speakeasy is you walk right up two flights of steps. No password, no hidden entrance, door wide open. Not only did they make sure we had cocktails we would love, but we chatted with them for the two hours we were there. They were super personable, and if we were local, we'd be back all the time. They really made our experience! The cocktails were unique and amazing from The pbj espresso martini, to the creamsicle inspired cocktail and the one that reminded me of a pink drink from Starbucks. Regan also made us our own unique cocktail too. They are all super reasonably priced for high quality as well! The speakeasy is adorable. It's upstairs, and there is no password! It was simple to find, and someone greeted us and told us where to go. We were also able to leave our umbrella there since it was pouring when we went. The spot is historical and fun. I loved every part about it. Add this to your must do Savannah list!

What a beautiful picturesque place to have some bites and cocktails!…read more I was welcomed into this moody, velvety spot with a sweeping view of the river. Beautiful glass, marble, deep colors of navy, mauve, and gold. Service was wonderful, felt welcomed immediately. For my appetizer, I had the crab cake with homemade tartar sauce, which was a light, bright way to start the evening. For my entree, I had the filet mignon. The server will tell you, the menu says tapas, but the servings are larger than that. Meat portions are generous at 6 oz. My only complaint is that I ordered my steak medium and got closer to well done. At least the steak was still moist and not dried out, but I would be hesitant to do the steak again. The spinach risotto I had with it was creamy and cheesy, however, so that was nice. Other options for food include burrata, a charcuterie board, grilled shrimp, sea bass, salmon, scallops. The cocktails are the real star here. They fall under the categories "strong and adventurous," light fare," and "signature." Non-alcoholic cocktails are also available. I started with the medusa 1597, under "strong and adventurous." Made with Old Tom Gin, extra dry vermouth, truffle, grapefruit, and amaro, it was extremely strong. A bold, slow sipper I would have done better to have later in the evening, but I still appreciate the complexity of it. I also had the Bella primavera, a lighter cocktail under the signature section. Made with pisco, blanc vermouth, French herbal liqueur, watermelon, and basil leaf. A smoother, brighter, faster sip than the Medusa. And I also had the blood orange martini, made with French vodka, blood orange, lime, and cranberry. A little sweet, but not cloying, and again, would have been a better starter as opposed to a closer. I think when I return, I will ask the bartender to make me off the menu drinks. This place seems creative enough that the outcome would be fantastic. I loved this place. The vibe, the view, the service, the offerings. Can't wait to see what more they have in store.

Talk about a frustrating restaurant to find!…read more We were walking along the boardwalk, and I was in the mood for sushi. Naturally, I pulled up Yelp and found this place, which had great reviews. We decided to venture away from the area we had been exploring and walked across the street, only to find ourselves staring at a Chinese restaurant with absolutely no indication of where the sushi restaurant was located. We walked all the way to the right thinking we must have missed it, but still nothing. Then, almost by accident, we looked down an alleyway and there it was--hidden in plain sight. By this point, I was extremely hungry and definitely not in the mood for a game of hide-and-seek. After climbing a flight of stairs, we entered a very dark and intimate space with a small bar area. We usually prefer sitting at the bar, but there weren't any available seats, so the hostess seated us at a tiny round table that felt more like something you'd find in a café. The atmosphere was definitely giving romantic date-night vibes. We ordered two specialty sushi rolls. One was a mango roll, and the other had me sold the moment I saw the word truffle as a special. The truffle roll was easily my favorite, although both were delicious. I also ordered a passion fruit cocktail, which I'd rate a solid 9 out of 10. I don't normally go for sweet drinks, but when on Rome, why not? This was not overly sweet but still one and done for me. Since we were only in town for one night and wanted to experience as many places as possible, we stuck with the two rolls and drinks before heading back out to continue exploring. Overall, this place is incredibly cute, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect for a date night. My only complaint is how difficult it was to find. If you're starving like I was, wandering around searching for the entrance might test your patience. Once you finally find it, though, it's worth the effort.
