The food choices had mixed reviews. I had the sampler trio. Most Everything was as good as always but the ham salad was particularly salty. My husband had the ham and cheese panini and he did like his at all. This was his first visit.:( I did buy a dozen of my favorite cookies - oatmeal pecan, to take home and they were so delicious. Thank you and I really appreciate him reaching out very much. Food was good and everything. However I had gone in there with my son just myself and my son. I went to the restroom to change my son's diaper when I came back out they had thrown away my food and it was half my sandwich and my son's un touched macaroni, fruit and cookie. I called then went back to the store asked for maybe partial refund or something. She did offer me cookies however it doesn't make up for the fact that they threw away a lot of food. The manager was not helpful the fact that she said "why didn't you let someone know you weren't done with that " . FIRST they where all busy the managers was talking to someone on there break which don't understand why if your working . My family and I have been here many times over the years, so this review is long overdue. Savannah has so many incredible bakery options. Our favorite is the homemade chocolate chip cookies. They are truly the best in Houston and that's saying a lot (love Paulies cookies too). If they are made the day of the cookies melt in your mouth and they are always very generous with the chocolate chips. We also love the cute decorated cookies and the lemon cake. We've gotten the lemon cake many times for birthdays over the years. Our favorite entrees are the chicken spaghetti and the four cheese panini. On a hot day it's always nice to have a glass of their apricot tea. I highly recommend this lovely little cafe in Clear Lake. :-) read more

We ordered from this bakery/cafe upon the advice of a friend and were blown away with the quality of food and the menu offerings. I had the Baby Bleu Salad and it was such a fine balance of sweet and tangy it is hard to believe it was a healthy option. The fruit entry which includes 3 tea sandwiches was also a healthy yet delicious option. The Fruit was fresh and flavorful and the little sandwiches were packed delicious with filling. We arrived around noon to pick up our order and the place was buzzing with activity, take out included especially on a Friday afternoon. It was a good sign for the choice for a take out place. I heard about this place via Yelp. It's just a few minutes off I-45. Savannah Cafe & Bakery is a good lunch spot with soup, sandwich and salads on the menu . I stopped by to see if they had strawberry cake but ended up leaving with a dozen cookies and two cupcakes. The cupcakes were pretty and classic looking. The cookies were delicious and still tasted good days later. The pies looked amazing, but didn't get a chance to try. Overall, I thought the desserts were worth the detour and plan on visiting the cafe the next time I'm in the area. read more

We ordered takeout for a small party from here, the food wasn't what I would have expected from a bakery. The bread was generic grocery store quality, the side of veggies that came with the sandwiches was a waste of food, they included dried out carrot chunks, and a green olive. The tiny muffin that was included wasn't good. We ordered a quiche, and it was gross. It was more like a nasty chicken pot pie than a quiche. We ordered the The Hot Jala'mento Cheese panini, it was only palatable with the strawberry perseveres. Unfortunately the side of preserves was tiny and not enough for a whole sandwich. The food was unimpressive, and disappointing for the price. I've had better quality sandwiches at gas stations. At least at a gas station they don't pretend to be a bakery. If selling sandwiches is going to be a main staple for this bakery, I'd suggest ditching the grocery store sliced Sarah Lee bread, and actually BAKE some bread!! Bread is a super simple food to bake and would make the sandwiches much more impressive for the price. read more

First time coming here and this place is adorable and delicious! I chose The Savannah dish so I could try an assortment of sandwiches and would pick the cranberry chicken salad as the best of the 3. Also, I've never had a fruit bowl where every single piece of fruit is so fresh and delicious. There's usually always that one or two that are hard and bitter. Broccoli cheese soup is on point too and they had a selection of iced teas to choose from. I did a mixture of apricot tea and sweet tea. Last but not least- that little surprise pumpkin muffin on the plate just really hit the spot at the end. What a great late lunch to grab while my daughter is at cheer next door. Ordered via Uber, so I don't know about the service. All I know is that the sandwiches were not good. The bread smelled old before I ever took a bite. It felt and tasted stale. The ham salad (I think) was so so salty I couldn't eat it. The jalapeno pimento was totally overloaded with Cayenne pepper. None of the bread was fresh - which is why I was willing to try them. I was pretty upset with the service I had today. We had tried to host a party and could barely get anyone to help us. We come in to set up and they had no idea about a party at all. Okay.... well then they proceed to say they didn't know if they had our order for the food- something we had placed a week in advance and even called to check up on this past Thursday. That set me into a panic. Lucky they had the food... it was just the principal of the matter. I had to ask twice if they had our food and the first time I was told that they would come and let me know only to wait 20 minutes to come back and be told oh yes we found your order and are working on it. Then, they didn't provide us plates. Or silverware. Or cups. We had to go back and ask if they would at least give us the supplies we were promised to host the party at their facility. They said they would be right there: waited another 10 minutes to have to come back and ask. I had guests of the party even ask for me because I kept getting ignored when I would go to the front. While eventually they did, I came back at the end to ask if we could have some boxes for the left over food and while I was told "sure I'll be right there with some", they never came. It was very unorganized, very unprofessional and I wouldn't suggest hosting a party there. Everyone has their off days but I didn't even get a sorry from any of the staff about how we were treated for the 3 hours we had our event there. read more

I'm really trying to understand why there are so many good reviews for this cafe. I have driven by this cafe many times and I often go to the Starbucks that is near by. One day I had a sweet tooth, and after buying Starbucks I decided to try them out. I purchased half a dozen of strawberry cupcakes. I didn't realize the price until I reached the register. The cupcakes came out to either $15 or $16 , I can't remember exact price but it was one of the other. I remember saying to myself "wow these cupcakes MUST be amazing ". When I made it home I was so excited to try these cupcakes along with my regular coffee. I was DISAPPOINTED. These cupcakes were not really all that good , and the frosting seemed a little too sweet to me. The cupcakes were dry, but guy at register said they were baked the previous day. Honestly, I rather Walmart cupcakes lol , then these . I will not return to this establishment. I might have given this place one more chance and give the benefit of the doubt to try the cookies or perhaps a sandwich or something, but when I walked into cafe I was not immediately greeted. One of the few bakeries in there area to buy a cake... I got the strawberry cake, $35, but it was a total hit with everyone and was huge. Real strawberries were baked in. Icing appeared to be homemade & apparently delicious. They do holiday cooking that you can order in advance with a lot of options and reasonably priced. I wish they would offer more vegetarian options and consider some gluten free options. I can't try any other there food unfortunately because of the limited menu. read more

I came here once when it was Magnolia Bakery and came today at lunch because somebody told me they have egg salad sandwiches which I love. This is a women's place. It's largely frequented by women, men hustling women, men with a Dominatrix and gays. If you don't believe this, look around when you're there. My wife comes here more often. The two times I've come I've come with her. The first time I got a pastry and wasn't impressed. This time the egg salad needed help -- pickles, relish, onion or at least salt & pepper. It's completely bland. You're not sure your eating anything unless you look at it. Update: Today I came with my wife and got a slice of pecan pie. Finally, something good here. Regarding Yelp's question, do they deliver. I say no but they do deliver if you buy more than $100 worth plus a $20 delivery charge. UPPUdate: We went again today because Yelp says they have Quiche. I like quiche and decided to go. I don't know what that was, they advertised it as Quiche Lorraine, but it tasted NOTHING like any quiche I've ever eaten. I took three small bites and quit. Your Italian cream cake has no flavor, your Coke cake is way to sweet and it's frosting was grainy. Your lemon square has a strong smell of egg. ( that's not a good thing) your coffee was good and your sugar cookie was good. I recommend that you go to empire cafe try real good cakes and learn to give a great dessert. I did see lots of customers come in for your savory food. That's great but not a whole lot for dessert. Pam's delectable delights makes great desserts and she could work with you. A really cute place that honestly I had never seen before. A girl from work had brought some leftover chocolate cake which was REALLY good and lotta fudge icing.. They have a wide range of 'to go' meals you take and eat. I heard the King Ranch Chicken from there is amazing but I have yet to try it yet. I purchased a Lemon Merengue Pie and a French Silk Chocolate pie. They make a Apple Pie with a Pecan Praline crusted top that is awesome!. My work colleagues were mixed. The wait in this cafe and bakery is too long even with two registers operating and it's not crowded. The side fruit salad was fresh and the dressing was very good. The muffin was tiny but tasty. The main course- a swiss/bacon quiche- wasn't even room temp, it had cheddar instead of swiss cheese as described, the crust was tough and dry instead of flaky, there's too much cheese and bacon instead of eggs to make it light and fluffy. Overall, the quiche was "chunky" and dry. I would not recommend Savannah's quiche at all and even the cookies are mostly ordinary for a 'bakery'. read more

Really good cookies! I'm loving the peanut butter and kiss cookie, the snicker doodle and sugar cookie. I'm sure they're all good but I'm a creature of habit so I always stick to my go to's. Lovely, spacious area for desert or for a soup, casserole, salad or sandwich. They have flavored hot teas such as peach ginger tea, African harvest, orange, earl gray, breakfast, apricot, mango, decaf and cold teas. They also have coffee and decaf coffee. Nice atmosphere and lots of sweet treats. I haven't tried the cakes , brownies or cupcakes. read more

When we first frequented café we enjoyed the service and the food & desserts... but we recently noticed the desserts aren't as tasty and not always fresh . The cookies used to be our favorite. They lack sweet taste now, or if supposed to have a flavor they just taste bland, and some cookies were not available at 2pm and the reply to would there be more was just nope. Two cashiers were chatting when I arrived, they saw me as I stood waiting and finally I said hello? Next the girl messed up putting in wrong kind of cookie in my box of a dozen. Luckily I checked my box she had sealed and caught error b4 I paid, but the gal acted shocked I asked to check it and questioned why, which made me feel bad for my request when it's my right.
