I ordered two sandwiches, and both were missing several ingredients. Neither had pickles, tomatoes, mustard, or Italian seasoning. Additionally, one half of a whole sandwich had no mayo on it at all. I have no idea who made these sandwiches, but it seems like they didn't know how to read what I asked to be on them. It was around 9:30 p.m., and by the time I got home, it was too late to go back. I had first arrived and had questions about the soup. The employee let me know that they didn't have the answer about whether the soup was vegetarian or not and said they have to go check the label. I asked them if they could for me and they said they'd rather not. I asked again if they could and they rolled their eyes at me sighed loudly and went to the back to check. When I got to checkout the lady checking us out was clearly upset she had to be there. She was shaking her head and rolling her eyes at us. Said nothing the entire interaction and then literally tossed our food on the tray and turned around. It was a horrible experience. Ordered the skinny prime rib steak on thin multigrain with vegetable soup. The skinny option is a good choice for me on a GLP-1. The sandwich was very disappointing. The bread was too tough and chewy and I couldn't tell what the meat was. It was butchered and dry. I would suggest to this restaurant to thinly slice the roast cooked to medium and nicely layer the slices on the bread. The vegetable soup had an odd taste. I would suggest the seasoning be tweaked to more of a umami flavor. I will try other options in the future maybe on the skinny white bread. read more

Ordered the Mediterranean sandwich with chicken. I requested provolone cheese instead of feta but there was no cheese at all on my sandwich. I did not enjoy the sandwich, the chicken was a weird texture and the taste was not good, there was no specific flavor profile. I also had a side of Mac and cheese which tasted worse than boxed Mac and cheese. I ordered a salad and like always it's not fresh. Salad had too many hard parts of the lettuce, and wilted, not enjoyable. The cucumbers weren't fresh, I had 4 thin, small slices which I had to throw 2 away. The chicken was disgusting. Service here is always slow. I placed my order on line but my order is never on the shelf for pick up, the couple of times I've been here, it's always sitting on the counter in the back. The place isn't busy so unsure why the service is so slow. People stand there until helped and no customer service. Very disappointing that I wasted my rewards on a crappy salad! Foods ok chip selection is terrible. Service is abysmal every time it's dirty and the staff clearly doesn't want to be here. Then they have the audacity to ask for tips after barely acknowledging your existence. The management at this location must even worse to manage to have such a bad staff. I've always loved this location! The food is always fresh and the service is beyond great! The servers are always eager to assist and knowledgeable with suggestions and add ons. I've never found this location to be unkept. I love the way Potbelly toasts their sandwiches for the extra flavor! I also like the side options which are better than most sandwich shops. Potbelly is always my 1st choice for a sandwich and the turkey with Swiss or tuna are my instant go-to! Definitely recommend checking them out if you haven't in the past! read more

I really don't know why this place has les then 4 stars , as soon as I walked in , I knew it would be good. The smell of meat cooking is drool worthy. I was greeted even tho they are extremely short staffed. I ordered the 2 which is the half sandwich and soup, I got the meatball with everything , no joke the hot peppers they use are freaking Devine !! I'm going back for a jar. The potato soup was good, not sure the kind of potato's they used might be the pre pricked kind as you could tell they had a skin on the outer layer . Either way soup was amazing. My kiddo wanted a basic salad , like legit lettuce , chicken and crap ton of croutons hahaha. The worker was beyond the sweetest and made her little crouton dreams come true. I am visiting the Houston area from out of town, and really craved a salad but also wanted to try somewhere I had not tried before. I happened upon Potbelly from looking through the trusty Yelp app. Small looking from the outside, but much bigger on the inside, I was quite surprised by the amount of seating and everything placed within a good 6 ft away from the next table. There were quite a few tables strategically set next to outlets, thank goodness (also a plus in my book when there is availability to recharge my phone). The menu is placed above the area where you order, and is large enough you can see no matter where you are in line. They offer sandwiches, salads, soup and a mix of all of the above if desired - like half soup, half salad, etc. You can see them making your food and certain items they would ask exactly what you wanted on said item. On the menu board it states the salads they offer and what comes on it, I did not know that you can change or omit certain items on the salads (and the other main items as well) so it took me a while to settle on a specific salad. I ordered the half soup and salad - Chicken pot pie for the soup and salad with avocado and grilled chicken, fresh greens and tomatoes. It all hit the spot for what I was craving, without leaving me over filled. Service was great, and friendly. They were hustling as quickly as they could to get orders out. Stopped in to grab lunch a few days ago. My partner and I were greeted with kindness from the employees taking our order, but when we got to the register, the employee with the backward baseball cap with all the pins on it was rude and disrespectful. They asked us "what did you have?" My partner replied with "a pick your pair." And the employee replied again "what did you have?" My partner said "a broccoli cheddar soup and sandwich." The employee became irate and shouted "YOU NEED TO TELL ME WHAT YOU HAVE, WHAT KIND OF SANDWICH DID YOU HAVE?" So, not only did this employee inadequately communicate what they actually wanted to know, but then got loud and rude at our response. This is a blatantly inappropriate way to treat customers. Workers making the sandwich were nice and the gentleman was kind. However, when we went to the register to pay, the cashier (older woman) was talking and smiling on the phone for a minute or two (which we didn't mind) but it's like she completely swapped her attitude after she hung up and served us. Customer service is pretty hard sometimes but we weren't rude, impatient, and didn't even look mean. even so she looked unhappy to be serving us. When we paid and sat down to eat, she was nice and seemingly way more energetic to the people behind us (not POC). Also, the meat in the steakhouse sandwich tasted strange, and looked metallic. service is terrible and the worker ruined my sandwich. i was so excited to try this place but i was extremely disappointed with my experience. the worker had so much attitude. it was my first time coming here and i was a little confused on how it works but she was so unhelpful. then she wrapped my sandwich up without asking if i wanted to add anything to it. i asked if i could add more items but she seemed annoyed so i just said it's fine forget it. my sandwich was so plain. i took it home and added more toppings myself. if i was going to have do all of that, i would have been better off just making my own sandwich at home in the first place. it wasn't worth it to waste my time and money here. i feel like this place has potential but the workers are just terrible. i'm a server so i know what it's like to deal with customers all day and im usually very chill when it comes to stuff like this but come on. this was just ridiculous. read more

This was my husbands and I first time trying Potbelly. Before we decided on this place, we did actually see the recent reviews that weren't so great. But once again, we gave the benefit of the doubt and we were disappointed. First we weren't even greeted. Once a worker noticed us, she asks if we have a mobile order. And I said no. And then it got awkward from there. Next my husband wanted to order the meatball sandwich, and he asked what was the biggest size bread they had and the worker just had the stankiest attitude, for I don't know what reason. She just seemed annoyed and she began to proceed with asking me what I wanted. But due to the fact that they had a sign that said they do not have any white bread, pickles, cucumbers, tomatoes, and few other things, my options were limited for my preference. I decided on getting the Italian. And I asked if they had a 6inch bread and she told me no, and was just talking to me like if I was stupid . Next she had asked me what did I want on it and I said "however it comes" because I'm not very picky. And I had looked on the menu online and seen the picture of that sandwich and it looked delicious. And she said "well it only comes with the seasoning" and I'm like "huh? What do you mean only a seasoning?" Like that sounds ridiculous! And I showed her the picture of the sand which online & she said "well I mean I can put lettuce" I rolled my eyes because at that point I'm just annoyed. I paid with my husband and we left. I hadn't been to Potbelly in years. At least ten. I didn't remember how good it was. It wasn't too pricey either. Two kid's combos and a regular sandwich with chips and one of their big cookies was just under $20. I got the Italian on wheat and it was pretty good. The star of my meal was definitely the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie though. It was soft and delicious. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all and everyone, from the gentleman taking the order, to the girl at the register, was very sweet and engaging. Good service is always a winner. I also learned that they have a rewards program now. That was not in place back in the day but it's my kryptonite.
