My sister and I treated our mom here for mother's day. We knew the wait would be long so we were prepared. I joined the wait line at 9:15 and we didn't get seated till 11. I called a few days before to ask and the lady was nice enough to let me know when to get on the wait list for the best possible outcome of being seated when we got there. We got there about 30 minutes before we were seated so it wasn't too bad. Remember it was a holiday and brunch is popular for mother's day. The inside is so cute and the bakery food looked so good. The hostess and server we got were so nice. I got the Brisket Benny with a side of fruit. The brisket was sooo tender and flavorful. The biscuit it was on was yummy too. My mom got the Italian Omelet with a side of cheese grits. She didn't like that the spinach still had the stems but other than that it was very good and the cheese grits were seasoned nicely. We brought them home and my 10 month old LOVED them. My sister had the bacon egg and cheese croissant with a side of potatoes and we all shared the waffle. My sister doesn't drink but she got a sprite with pineapple juice and she loved it. My mom got the bloody marry. She loved it. I'm not a fan of tomato juice BUT I'd definitely get one next time I go. I got an iced latte and added caramel sauce and it was perfect. It was definitely a good experience and I am looking forward to going again but on a non holiday this time.

Nice little brunch restaurant. Seated rather quickly and service was very friendly. I had ordered the brisket Benny with cheddar grits however they made the mistake of giving me crispy potatoes nevertheless they brought out the grits shortly after allowing me to have both.

The desserts. Y'all have to try these. They are phenomenal. We started out and had brunch there earlier. We had an hour wait and that was being on the waitlist. The menu was quite nice a variety of choices. The biscuits were our only complaint. Way too hard. We spoke to Matt the owner and he said he would look into that. Would definitely comeback and try something new next time. We left for our other activity and then came back and decided to try the dessert portion of the restaurant. Matt had pointed us in the right direction for some of his tasty options. The ambiance was busy. Eat - clear a table- reseat- repeat. I have to also say this was a weekend day. I would give this place another try. Maybe just an off day with the biscuits but the desserts were on point. I hope you give them a try for yourself.

Service was attentive. There are plenty of tables. The restaurant was clean. This is my type of breakfast. Bonus points if I can get French fries instead of breakfast potatoes. The whole meal was solid. The biscuit wasn't too dry and the bacon was thick and crispy. Would come back!

Went to Water Oak Cafe for a team lunch. Dena was extremely helpful in assisting with setting up the reservation and answering questions. The restaurant is very nice, but space is limited. They get busy and packed. My coworker ordered pies to go and stated they were the best pies she'd ever had. Staff were friendly and attentive. Although our party was large, our waiter did a great job with taking orders and checking in. Food was really good, and so was the coffee. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was cooked to perfection and delicious. I'd definitely go back just for that. Their restroom needs a little love though. Small establishment so only two restrooms. There will likely be a wait. Parking was sufficient surface parking.

Couldn't decide between lunch or breakfast. A little something for everyone. Went with the soup and salad combo. Hearty tomato basil with a grilled chicken salad. Lots of fresh ingredients and different textures. Also enjoyed the vinaigrette with it. A classic breakfast combo for my mom. Big portions. I took a nibble of the biscuit and bacon. Would def check it out again to try more. Sit down service with a waiter/waitress. We were there for a late lunch so less busy than usual and friendly service. The only meh thing I had was my cold brew. Would probably try their regular coffee or a latte next time. Look forward to checking out more menu items.

Omelet and we choose fruit for the side. Although they put the filler fruit that I'm allergic too.

I was totally shocked when I walked in that it looked like an instgrammable cafe. Was not expecting that and it was super cute! Since it's more of a breakfast/brunch/lunch place then it's not open for dinner. So it does get a bit packed...I recommend going online and placing yourself on the wait-list either when you leave your house or almost there. I did it while we were finding parking and that saved us time from checking in inside and waiting. So total we probably waited 10 minutes instead of the 25-30 minutes listed on the website. If you want to order ahead and pick up you can. Or grab a cute treat but walking all the way to the back and you can she the delicious deserts and purchase one while waiting for your table. The seating waiting area is a bit small but the inside is a bit small also. There is also plenty of outside seating but in the Houston heat it was ideal. Once we sat down, we ordered and the food came out fairly quickly. The food was pretty good! I had a cookie but can't remember the name and it was scrumptious. My son had a lemon blueberry muffin and he loved it for a 3 year old. There is a kid's menu and my son enjoyed his burger sliders (comes with 2) and my daughter got the chicken strips. Both a winner. I had the omelet and it was delicious. My husband had eggs and something else I can't remember and he loved it. He's a simple breakfast eater so that was perfect for him. I loves the bag holders under the table and would definitely come back here again! The restrooms seemed a little dingy. The toilets could be clearner and smell better in the restrooms but other than that come check it out!

First tried Water Oak Cafe & Bakery last year and decided to revisit this place. Still love the interior decor. Service was excellent. Food also came out in a timely manner. Brisket biscuit benny must be a new addition to the menu this year, so I tried this dish. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't crazy about it. I thought the brisket would have more flavor. Selected brunch potato with garlic aioli as a side; delicious! I think I prefer the Water Oak Benny more. Simple but tasted good. Hopefully they rotate the sweet potato waffle fries onto the menu again in the future!

I've only visited so far for the bakery items and haven't dined in yet. The staff were pleasant and handled my order quickly. The interior is bright and inviting--bright enough to keep you feeling energized. The cookies and muffins were all delicious, but my favorite was the loaded cookie.

I'm not sure about all the hype around this place. It is a decent brunch and positively previous vibe- Frenchy boutique! The service was good but we were rushed. Lots of fancy tea "partyish"people. The food was your average brunch fare and decent. I won't be rushing back, but it isn't a bad choice.

Really enjoyed our brunch on a busy Mother's Day weekend at Water oak. There aren't a ton of brunch options in the Webster area and this is definitely one of the better ones. Very nice interior with a lot of French pastries and desserts. For brunch we tired the sampler with fresh biscuits and cheddar grits and a French omelette with fruit bowl. Their coffee and espresso drinks were also great. Service was also prompt and friendly for such a busy weekend.

Given Water Oak Cafe & Bakery is in a strip mall on the corner, it says a lot that the vibe of the restaurant is comfortable and cozy. One could easily forget where they are. The place is hopping. We didn't have reservations, but were able to snag a table pretty easily. Everyone got something different and the food was quite delicious. Items ordered included Seasonal Quiche with fruit and crispy potatoes, the Water Oak Benny, Over Easy Egg Tostada and The Hamwich. Given we did a good job of exploring the menu, it's a good bet you'll find something that strikes our fancy. On top of that, you'll enjoy your food. On the way out we picked up four cookies, which were much better than 'big store' cookie shops. Next time we visit my sister, I'd ask to return to Water Oak Cafe & Bakery.

I really wanted to like Water Oak Cafe & Bakery after seeing it online. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. As you'd expect at any brunch spot on a weekend around 11 a.m., there was quite a wait. However, the waitlist system was effective and convenient. All you have to do is go to the website or Google the restaurant, and there should be a link. There's plenty of shaded outdoor seating. The weather was nice as well today, so that was a plus. Once your table is ready, you'll get a text to head inside. The staff will guide you to your table. The inside is bright, welcoming, and aesthetic. There's a lunch and brunch menu with a variety of options. Whatever your preference, I'm sure most people will find something that suits their palate. Before I go on, I'd just like to disclose that I'm the type of person who looks at restaurant menus beforehand. Little did I know that this would be my downfall. I had preemptively decided on the Rise N' Shine Breakfast Sandwich. I remember seeing it on a past iteration of the menu online, and it sounded good. I ordered it today without looking more closely at the new version of the menu item. My first impression: "This is small... did I actually get what I ordered?" The answer is yes, yes I did. The sandwich is basically a fried chicken sandwich that comes on a blueberry biscuit with a side of spicy raspberry jam. At first, I tried eating it like a sandwich. It was a bit difficult. I gave up three or four bites in. Part of what made it hard to eat is that the biscuit itself was dry. Very dry. I'm sorry to say this, but it was a degree drier than a Popeyes biscuit. When I tried cutting the sandwich instead, that hardness persisted. It took some effort to cut through the whole sandwich. Also, the chicken did not taste seasoned, nor was the jam spicy. As I hinted earlier, there were apparently older versions of this menu item. Those iterations came on either a brioche or jalapeño cheddar bun, with other variations in the sandwich itself. I think those would have been much better than the sandwich I had today. Or maybe today was just an off day. On the bright side, the fruit cup I had as a side was great and refreshing. I was also able to try a bit of the waffles and brunch potatoes. The waffles are good but not great--comparable to hotel waffles. The potatoes were nice, especially with the garlic aioli. Despite the downsides of the meal, I had great company, which distracted me from choking on the biscuit. Our waitress was also very nice and prompt. She checked on us regularly. The restrooms are also very clean. Overall, it'll be a while before I see myself coming back. I do still recommend this place to anyone who would like a cafe with a nice atmosphere and solid service.

The food was excellent, my adult kids got the Turkish Breakfast x2 and we all got a taste, while my wife and I split a Garden Omelette, because they are that big. Everyone got a different beverage from Turkish Coffee and Cafe Americano to Lattes and tea. Service was friendly snd genuinely helpful. It's an order-at-the-counter place but they still paid attention to us after we were seated, so nothing was lost in that experience. Flavor was the main experience. Everything had its own character and I can't wait to explore more of their offerings. Our table also included a waffle dish and a crepe dish, and nobody was disappointed in their choice. Heads up that the bacon is turkey bacon I believe to keep the kitchen Halal, but you don't go here to replicate Cracker Barrel, this is a different type of choice that opens up your understanding of brunch. I ordered the avocado toast with egg and a side of fruit. I also ordered a side of bacon but never got it. I was also never charged so maybe she didn't hear me ask for it. The toast was great and the eggs fee fluffy and flavorful. The fruit was fruit lol. My sister ordered the breakfast sandwich with a side of the potatoes and the Reese's crepe. The kind of place you stumble into expecting caffeine and leave with a small, irrational faith in humanity restored. People like to say Montrose is where Houston keeps its cool, its weird, its pulse. It is bright, clean, odd in the best possible way, and alive with the feeling that something interesting might happen before you finish your cup. Now, the important part: the coffee. I judge a place by the black cup. No sugar, no milk, no whipped cream masquerading as personality. Just coffee, exposed and unprotected. Java Owl passes that test. The roast has character. It tastes like someone cared. It does not taste like the sad, scorched sludge you get from places that treat coffee beans like evidence to be burned. And if you want something more elaborate, they have that too. The specialty drinks rotate, mutate, and show up with a kind of reckless creativity that works more often than it has any right to. Every visit seems to bring some new concoction, some fresh little act of caffeinated imagination. Late nights at the Owl are their own species of entertainment. Beer, wine, conversation, and the grand old human circus of people watching. Someone might break into "Sweet Caroline." Someone else might decide the room needs a guitar solo. I live in the Clear Lake area but will be working in League City this week, so I specifically wanted to find a nice coffee shop to patron or even hang out in for the next several days. The space was nice with more than enough bored games to keep any group of friends busy. There was no line, and no reason to be rushed. But the barista that took my order was immediately angry and took the stress level to a 10 for seemingly no reason. I ordered an Americano. She looked at me like I was an idiot and asked several questions including milk. I said I'd like some milk and some room in the cup and she berated me with many more questions that I couldn't understand. Pretty much yelling in my face for no reason. The manager/owner was right there watching it. The barista had dark hair, dyed red with a dark short sleeved shirt. She pretty much owned the place over everyone. I stood there with her talking down to me for several minutes. And that is why I won't go back. Also, I ordered a "medium Americano" and it came back after 5-10 minuktes in a cup barely larger than a dixie cup. And it was completely burned. It tasted awful. I write a bad review maybe every 3-4 years. And this was easily the worst coffee shop experience of my life. It actually ruined my morning. And that is why I am taking the time out of my day to write this.

THE Pancakes - eyes rolling back in head - the biggest, fluffy golden brown things you have every seen and the syrup came in a glass carafe that warm syrup was an extra special touch. The coffee was their own brand and the flavors were Pecan and Cinnamon, very smooth, and very hot and refilled often. Do yourself a favor and go to Red Oak Cafe in League City on Main Street and ask for Sal and get ready for a great expericence and excellent food and service! I live in Woodlands Tx and will drive 60 miles again to eat at this place!

The ambience and the food presentation was fantastic! The ambience gave me a sort of modern rustic…read morevibe, which I love. The food tasted okay, but it definitely lacked spices and in my opinion needs some TLC. One menu item that caught my attention was the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese: three types of cheeses, Granny Smith apple slices, bacon slices, and sourdough bread. Now I thought that the apple slices come on the side right? Nope, they were cooked in the sandwich. I don't know who came up with the concept of adding the apples into the sandwich, but whatever; I've tasted weirder things. Still, the sandwich didn't taste bad; that's just a weird concept in my opinion. The worst part of our service was the server. She didn't exactly introduce herself, but she did ask how we were with an apathetic tone. Like I said, she didn't tell us her name. Only way I can describe her is she wore eyeliner, red lipstick, and her blonde hair in a clip. During our visit to the restaurant, she just seemed like she hated her job and was emotionally constipated. When I wanted to substitute a side order of white chicken chili with the Grown-Up grilled cheese (I knew there would be an upcharge), she told me in a somewhat aggravated voice that there would be an upcharge. I told her calmly that I understood as the menu had specified. The only time she came by was to ask if we were done with our plates or needed a coffee refill, but not on how the food tasted. But yes, our server was probably the worst part of our visit. I've met Russians who were less cold than our server. I probably won't return unless the server gets an attitude adjustment or just leaves.

I frequent the Clear Lake area pretty often and just discovered the & Brew Coffee off El Dorado…read more I've seen them around town but never got a chance to check them out until recently. I just got done with a lunch date nearby and needed a little pick me up to finish my errands. I'm assuming all their locations are similar in that this place is a drive thru or walk up concept. I almost drove past because the drive thru line spilled out into the road but then I saw they had two lanes moving at a pretty rapid pace. Just from what I saw, it seemed like the whole staff was young, high school kids, but they were working hard. They had multiple people walking the lines with an iPad taking orders and keeping traffic flowing. I explained it was my first time so the young lady gave a quick run down of some of their popular items and asked what flavor profiles I like. The line moved quick and I liked that they took the time to wipe down each drink before handing it over so there was no mess. Great customer service. I ended up ordering the Cookie Butter iced coffee. The flavors of this coffee included toasted marshmallow, hazelnut and white chocolate breve. I like a breve because you get a creamier drink. The flavors worked well together and I really enjoyed my drink. I typically like a more coffee forward drink, but every once in awhile I like a dessert like drink. This was that. 7 Brew is one of many like chains in the area so competition is high out here. In my opinion, this place has a slight edge over the other places in that they have a great variety of drinks and great customer service. I will most definitely be back.

11:40am 5/9/26…read more Location was busy, but line was moving. Car in front of us had nearly every staff member come up and visit and talk, which delayed our line a bit. Finally next in line pick up our drinks, still behind the same car. Even more staff comes out to talk to the person in the car, they were given their drink, but continued to sit there holding up the line. Staff finally brings us our drinks, I asked "is this person going to move or are we going to have to go around them?" The staff said the person in the car worked there so everyone was just saying hi. They did not prompt the person in the car to move, just continued sitting there. The franchise owner should be embarrassed of their staff.

The garlic parmesan Brussels sprouts were a standout appetizer! They were crispy, flavorful, and the perfect balance of flavors. The French onion burger was incredible, packed with rich onion flavor, melty cheese, and cooked perfectly. And the whiskey cake was the perfect way to end the meal.. it's a dessert you definitely don't want to skip. Great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service made for an all-around fantastic experience. We'll definitely be back!

Food - 4.5/5 Service - 4/5…read moreAmbiance - 3.5/5 I had only heard mixed reviews regarding this place going in, so I figured my experience was going to be the same, but it was an overall very positive one. The ambiance was nice as we walked in, and after being quickly seated next to a window, the atmosphere was nice. They did end up covering the window before we started eating, and the little bulb way above us and candle did not really provide light enough for us to eat (I get it is mood lighting, but I like seeing what I eat). The food was really solid, though. A few times I've been in the past it was all too salty, but this time around it was much better. I got the Farm Bird, and it was very juicy and had a very nice crunch. The Fish and Chips were nice and flaky, while the Pork Chop was extremely juicy and rich. The shrimp in the rigatoni was definitely oversalted, as well as the broccolini greens in the pork chop dish. The appetizers we got (Brussels Sprouts and Spinach Artichoke Dip) were both okay, though I prefer garlic bread to the chip for the dip and the sprouts were a little one note. The whiskey cake itself was very good, though I recommend only one plate for a group of 6 or less because of how rich it is, especially if you get the ice cream addition. Overall a very surprising experience, and while it carries a heavy price tag, it is absolutely a good choice if you're looking for a nicer meal out here.
