The last few times we've eaten here, something seems different. I used to absolutely love this place, which is why I'm taking the time to leave this feedback. A few things I've noticed over the last couple of months: The to-go meals are not as full or as flavorful as they used to be. The portions seem smaller, and the food has been bland--barely enough for two people. The chocolate pie used to be the best in town. What happened? The last couple of times it has been dense, dry, and lacking flavor. We actually threw it away the last two visits, which is something I never thought I'd do. The King Ranch Chicken was awful the last time we ordered it--watery and completely lacking flavor. I'm not writing this to be mean. I'm writing it because this used to be one of my favorite places, and I genuinely want it to be great again. Please go back to the recipes, portions, and quality that made people love this restaurant in the first place. Make me love this place again, and I'll gladly update my review. read more

This little cafe tucked away in Pasadena, is honestly one of the best little hidden gems of South Houston The interior is bright, clean, and inviting. There is plenty of seating both inside and out. I remember there used to be some interesting paintings/murals on the walls years ago, but they've since painted over these, and I think that was an excellent choice The staff were exceptionally friendly. They have two counters open for orders so waits are never too long. The menu can be seen in bright lettering over these counters so you can make your choices as you wait. You will receive a number and the staff will bring your food to you. They also bus the tables The menu is extensive with entrees, salads, soups, pressed and regular sandwiches. I've always been impressed that this place offers sandwiches you can't find in just any cafe like French dips, Reuben's, Monte cristo's, Cubans, and many others One of the main draws is their bakery. They have so many cakes, pies, and cookies to choose from. Many of their confectioneries are displayed in a case at the register The portions are hearty and the flavors are on point. I always have a great time Some tips: Their cowboy and seven layer bars are incredible, but most people go for the red velvet cookies. I have tried many dishes here, and I've never been disappointed, but for years and probably for ever I will continue to choose the Saint Charles. It's phenomenal. Can't miss with the Cobb Salad! It's fresh and flavorful topped with rotisserie chicken, crispy bacon, real blue cheese crumbles, egg, and tomatoes. I am back to working in the Hwy.3 Webster area so I am once again frequenting the Savannah Cafe. I had a sandwich there today-sliced turkey on rye- always very good. What I did notice was that the floor-especially in the corners was filthy. Sort of like someone does a general sweep and mop most days but a deep cleaning hardly ever. I had an event in Pasadena in the evening and I'm allergic to traffic so I was looking for a spot to post up for a couple of hours. Savannah Cafe & Bakery was close by, had WiFi, and good reviews so I was sold. I stopped by on a Monday. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. I ordered the club sandwich and a lemon bar. Their menu mainly consists of desserts, sandwiches, and other light lunch options. The club sandwich came with two mini muffins (a nice surprise) and your choice of side. I went with the potato salad. The club sandwich was alright, nothing to write home about. I saved my lemon bar for the ride home. The lemon bar had powdered sugar on top. As I was munching on my lemon bar in the car, powdered sugar got everywhere on my clothes. I thought to myself, if I get stopped by the cops, I'm in trouble. Luckily, I avoided the 5-0 and the lemon bar was very, very good. I don't know if it was the time I stopped by but I was the youngest person there by a large margin. Felt like I was attending the senior special at Denny's or a knitting convention. I'm joking to a degree but Savannah Cake & Bakery definitely seemed to be a hit with the local seniors. read more

If you're looking for a sandwich or salad lunch, maybe even some soup; give this place a try. I'm not sure how many locations they have, but I've been to at least 2 of them and they're both good. They have some really good sandwiches. My go-to is the Four Cheese Panini, but I've had a couple others and they were also good. For your side, I highly recommend the potato salad. It's delicious! They also have things like chicken salad and pimentos and cheese, as well as green salads if that's what you prefer. I've never had a salad from here myself, but I'm told they're good, and I've seen them. They look good and they're huge. One of my favorite things about the meals here is that they're served with this mini spice cake muffin that is a tasty little treat at the end of your meal... or the beginning. You do you lol. They also have a wide variety of cookies, cakes, and other treats. The red velvet cookie is one of my favorites. AND if that's not enough, they sell low carb/keto bread too. My sister has bought it and says it's good. TL:DR - This is like Panera Bread's younger cousin, but she's her own person, and she gives out tasty mini muffin bites with every meal. I bought three brownies and one slice of coke cake today. All three were extremely dry, inedible and were thrown away. In the past, this was my go to for a delicious treat or entree. Savannah Cafe & Bakery typically has a good lunch crowd. I personally, like their cranberry chicken salad and their cowboy cookies are the best I have ever had. I wish I could say their baked goods are made fresh daily, but I am not sure if that is accurate or not. I have eaten food at both; the Pasadena and the Webster locations. I've driven by several times and finally decided to come in one day. Prices are not too too expensive for sandwiches, this is still Pasadena afterall. I was torn between the french dip and chicken pesto, but went with the chicken pesto finally. On the side I chose the potato salad, which I didn't really care for. It was bland and I felt like it needed a few more ingredients. The pesto sandwich was decent, but the white meat chicken was a little on the dry side. I also added an iced tea and a chocolate fudge pecan ripple cake, which is a cheesecake inside of a chocolate cake with pecan chocolate icing. It was not bad, but I couldn't finish it all. I also didn't taste any fudge while eating it. I was thinking it may be similar to a chocolate cream cheese cake, but it wasn't. We have heard nothing but good reviews about this place so we decided that we would check them out today. We wanted anything but turkey the day after Thanksgiving. When we arrived the place was empty and we could sit anywhere. There is no table service, you go to the counter order and receive a number ala Panera Bread. I must say that the place was spotless and immaculate. The men's bathroom was impeccable. WOW! We ordered our sandwiches and waited a little bit which was no problem knowing that everything was made to order and fresh. My wife and I ordered the Panini sandwiches. She had the Cuban which was not authentic but tasted good. She also ordered the taco soup which she could not eat because it was way to spicy for her. Her lost. was my gain. The soup was very good and spicy. I ordered the pimiento spread, jalapeño and bacon panini. It tasted very good. Now for the cons. These are NOT your typical panini sandwiches. They were simply toasted, with grill lines, sandwiches. They were very good quality but not hearty at all. My wife called my sandwich "wimpy". The taco soup was to be a cup but it really was more a thimble size cup. This place offers fresh high quality food but definitely very lacking in the quantity department. The prices, for us, was too expensive for what we got to eat. $27 was way too expensive for a "light" lunch. Service was good and the bathroom was unbelievably super clean. Just got our order via Door Dash and I am super impressed with our food. We don't have any really good sandwich or soup places here in Deer Park so I was super excited to see a nice cafe in Pasadena! We ordered the Savannah which came with three chicken salad tea sandwiches, fruit with a side of fruit yogurt dip, a pumpkin pie muffin, and chicken tortilla soup. The chicken salad was some of the best I've ever had! They used crustless soft wheat bread and it was melted in my mouth. The chicken salad was fresh and wonderfully seasoned. We also ordered the Reuben sandwich and the pork tenderloin panini. The pork tenderloin sandwich was juicy, sweet but also savory and full of flavor. My friend said she'd order that over and over again. My husband devoured his Reuben in a matter of minutes and drained the chicken tortilla soup. Ventured here with coworkers when I happened to be in Pasadena. The staff is friendly and we all ordered and received our food pretty quickly. It's a typical cafe with paninis. You order, get a number which you place on your table, and then your food is brought to you. My turkey and bacon panini was just so-so. I didn't expect the turkey to be one huge thick piece of turkey, I really expected shaved turkey. The huge slab of turkey wasn't incredibly appetizing or easy to eat in a panini. The bread, cheese and bacon were all good in the sandwich. The cakes were appetizing and I decided on a big slice of coca cola cake. They described it as a chocolate cake with coca cola and marshmallows in it. It was definitely rich and the amount of frosting was a bit too much, but they certainly don't skimp on the portion sizes. The cake was pretty good and I brought the rest of my piece home for later. The restaurant was pretty cute and I liked that they brought the food to your table and that the soda machine was serve-yourself so I could get a lot of soda and ice for the rest of my day at the conference. I would go back here, I just wouldn't get anything with turkey to avoid the slab of turkey in the sandwich. read more

They have a wide array of desserts that are incredibly delicious with generous portion sizes. The atmosphere is casual and quite. It's a great spot for a day date or lunch with friends. I wish they had a larger outdoor seating area, but that isn't their fault...perhaps if they ever relocate. We dine here often, highly recommend giving them a try. read more
