I'm giving Sweet G Bakery 3 stars because while my experiences over the years have become increasingly inconsistent, I truly believe these are fixable issues if they choose to address them. The bakery is consistently beautifully decorated. The floral arrangements and thoughtfully designed backgrounds make it a lovely space and perfect for social media photos. It's inviting, charming, and clearly curated with care. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes I'm greeted warmly and helped right away. Other times the experience feels rushed and unwelcoming. Calling in orders has always been challenging. I often have to make repeated calls before someone answers, and outreach through social media is inconsistent. Since this bakery isn't close to me, it's frustrating that I have had to walk in just to place an order on a few occasions. The empanadas de canela are my favorite item and remain a highlight. At a little over $8 for a half dozen, they're delicious and a reliable option. Unfortunately, the cakes have declined in quality over the past few years. They have become noticeably drier than they used to be. The most recent cake I purchased received feedback that it tasted "almost like a dry tres leches cake," which was disappointing. Their rosca de reyes is one of the main reasons I continue to support this bakery; it is truly unique. However, ordering it is unnecessarily difficult every year. While I understand it's a busy seasonal item, after so many years I would expect a better system such as online ordering or dedicated phone support. Sadly, this year's rosca was also dry and not nearly as good as in previous years. I appreciate Sweet G as a small business and genuinely want to continue supporting them. However, rising prices combined with declining quality and inconsistent service make it harder to justify doing so. Sweet G was a 4+ star bakery not long ago. I hope they take an honest look at where improvements are needed so they can get back to that level. read more

I came in to buy a cake and asked for two toppings, including cajeta. Before paying I specifically asked if it was added and was told yes. After leaving I realized it wasn't included. When I went back I was told I wasn't charged for it but that wasn't communicated clearly before. I was the only customer there, so this felt careless and frustrating. We went to Sweet G on Friday 18th August, 2023 in search of a birthday cake for an upcoming event. Ambiance; 10000/10. Gorgeous, beautiful, well arranged and coordinated. Many insta worthy areas of florals. Service: 8/10. They were attentive and described their products well. Food: 1) Macarons: 100000/10. Mouth watering. An array in a small cup for $13. The ones with the fruit jams were our favorite. 2) Cake ball: 2/10. The icing needed to be harder like ganache. It was frosting. 3) Chocolate cake slice: 1/10. Very dry and hard. Even when left out on the counter for 3 hours3 the cake was too dry. $9/slice 4) Tres Leches: 8/10. It was moist and not too sweet. 5) Chocoflan: 3/10. Again the chocolate cake was waaay to dry. The flan wasn't luxurious. The caramel on the top was delicious though. Value for Money: 1/10. We spent $55 for 3 slices of cake, a small cup of Macarons and 1 cake ball. $9/cake slice is steep. Absolutely horrible service! . I called 1 week before to place my cake order . Nothing custom, just a cake that comes in a pan. I offered to pay in full to assure my order was going to be made and ready. The lady who took my order said it was not needed to be paid I could pay on pick up . She repeated my order and all details of my order. I get here right at the pick up time we agreed for them to say they have no orders for today. I showed them my call log that proves I called them and they just said we don't know who took your order . After demanding someone to take responsibility I was offered to come at 7pm for a cake , when I live an hour away and my get together is at 6pm. Absolutely ridiculous. Get it together. read more

We ordered two Capricho cakes for a 70th birthday party. The cake itself was pretty to look and equally delicious. The Capricho is a tres leches cake with fresh strawberries (mango version is available as well). The cake was moist throughout and not overly sweet. We had so many compliments on the cake and referrals for Sweet G. I believe custom orders are 2 weeks in advance but they were able to accommodate in a little over a week. They were professional, prompt, and overall great to work with. The storefront itself has cakes available for day of it needed. I will definitely come back to get the mango one next time. read more

Let me start by saying I am a frequent customer, yet for the last three occasions they haven't had my favorite Nutella for my capricho. The employees and cashiers seem very on edge, there's an aura in the room. I do not agree with some of the reviews saying they're not a good establishment, they have good quality products that taste good, and to some may be overpriced but we are all living a recession. I will continue to give them a chance, and I hope they can fix whatever troubles might be going on internally. They sell cake slices so I bought 3. 1 caramel flan, Rosco de Reyes, and carrot cake each. We get a cake for Mother's Day from here every year! We love love this bakery. We have been coming for yearsssss and enjoy that you can customize your cakes on the spot. Always have great service and great sweets around the decorated shop. A pretty good selection, you can walk around and find your pick. The bread on the regular cakes are always dry. So I recommend you go with anything with milk, like the 3 leches or caprichos. Anything else I cannot recommend. They're other items like empanadas are also great, just overpriced. Would love if they were part of the BOGO sale as well. The most inconvenient thing is their prices aren't advertised. You're constantly asking someone for the price. If they had a price menu listed, the cashiers wouldn't look so annoyed. Also, they have a loyalty program but it's not very smoothly run. The cashiers enter the receipt manually every time I go. And I can swear they don't input it. I only make the 20 minute drive for the 3 leches. I am very disappointed with Sweet G Bakery. We ordered our bridal and grooms cake through them back in December And had our wedding last weekend. The bridal cake was beautiful and tasted amazing.. but they showed up almost an hour past the time they were supposed to, AND we never received the grooms cake. Thankfully they were semi nice enough to finally give a refund. Sad because we were truly looking forward to BOTH cakes on our special wedding day. I hate leaving bad reviews but this was the worst customer service I've ever received. I ordered cupcakes for my baby shower. They were supposed to have blueberries and raspberries with the small little blue pearls. I paid $18 for 6 cupcakes and thought it was a little pricey, I didn't mind because I heard this place was so good. My mom went to go pick them. And I was expecting them to look so pretty to put them on the table for the baby shower. My mom called me and told me the cupcakes were ruined. They put the cupcakes in a horrible to go box, which meant any turn they would fall out of the cupcake holder. I called and complained the same day and they said they would do something about it. At first they said oh it's because the cream cheese icing is so sensitive. But that was not the case. The issue was the horrible packaging. Needless to say they did nothing. The cupcakes were thrown to the trash and money down the drain. Honestly, these cupcakes looked ugly. Even if they would have been in perfect condition to place on the main table. I ordered a slice of the Mango Mousse Cake recently, bc I heard about it and generally love mangoes n mango flavored stuff. I couldn't wait to try it and it's also hard to find mango mousse and mango mousse cake. However, I did not like the taste of this MM Cake at all. It was not sweet as cake n mangoes should be.
