First visit, wasn't sure what to expect. The "Sweet" was obvious when we walked in - lots of varieties of cupcakes, some familiar, some new. I picked the Italian Cream, and OH MY GOOOODDDDDNESSS, this might have been one of the best cupcakes I have every had (and I have had way too many cupcakes in my lifetime). But, I was surprised to see they have more than these sweet treats. That should have been obvious because of all the savory smells when I walked in (although a little confusing in a cupcake shop). They offer chicken salad, both as a sandwich or in a small container. But there is so much more than that. They offer grab & go meals that I believe change daily; some examples that we saw on the board that day - bacon fried cabbage with sausage, creamy chicken Alfredo tortellini soup, poblano southwest pimiento cheese, Chicken and Dumplings, Homemade Chicken Spaghetti, and several other options. There are also keto options available. Tried both the original and the Harvest Chicken Salad. The Harvest mix was excellent, will get it again. But the original was meh for me, I just didn't enjoy it. So my hint is, ask if you can sample it before you buy one of the chicken salads so you can find the ones that are best for you. The delectables were abundant, beautifully presented, and oh so very tasty. I found this wonderful location through Yelp to assist me on obtaining a wonderful treat for a special occasion at work. It is a bit out of my way for home, but now has become the desert if choice for our family get togethers and special celebrations. Each masterful cupcake has a most unique flavor, "German Chocolate", "Bansna Oudfing", "Salted Caramel" to just scratch the surface. We ordered them custom made for a birthday gathering. Our guest was spitting them out. My husband and I were completely embarrassed in front of our guest and we were disappointed because we'd planned the best birthday event for our baby girl! We were told at this place they do not do birthday inscriptions or birthday cakes so I custom ordered cupcakes anyway. Boy did I miss this big red flag! I should've walked out!! Anyways, in the middle of our event we had to call "HEB Bakery " and explained to them we needed cupcakes stat! HEB supplied us with the most amazingly soft and tasty cupcakes decorated beautifully with my daughters name and birthday "shout out" also the manager there gave us a discount because they wanted her day to be epic and it was! She was able to blow out her candles and we had a blast!! This place is NOT WORTH IT!! I've been waiting to try this place for a while and finally got the time to go there. There wasn't much parking room..I guess since they share a parking lot with a car repair place. In entering the place it was clean.... Tables and chairs look kind of outdated, but I don't think anyone really eat their cupcakes in there anyway. I got a red velvet and Italian cream cupcake. I haven't tried any of the food, just the cupcakes and I did so on a whim on my way back from HEB. I had no idea we had a bakery here in Deer Park because I always drive to Clear Lake for cupcakes. I read some of the reviews and I was afraid that my cupcakes would be dry and bland and they weren't - at all. They were moist and super flavorful. I ordered the chocolate cupcake for me and and the Oreo cupcake for my husband and they didn't even make it back home because we devoured them in the car. I also grabbed two boxes of their mini cupcakes assortment for my husband's co-workers and they loved them just as much as we did. I have eaten many a treats from Somethin Sweet. I love that they offer keto cookies and options as well. They have the most moist, tasty cupcakes in the area. Took my broad for half dozen cupcakes they were reasonable priced at 18. My husband ordered the Reese's cupcakes and the Oreo, the Oreo is sooooo good. The reese cupcake had Reese's pieces in the center and a peanut butter icing.... yum. My daughter had a vanilla with chocolate icing she loved it. The pineapple dream had a light frosting that was whipped and chunks of pineapple in it... literally delicious. Will definitely be coming back again. The store is adorable, the display was very nice. We bought a cupcake to sample and it was very dry. We were assured it was because they had been sitting a while. I ordered a 10 inch round red velvet cake for a family member's birthday from this vendor for around $50. I paid for it in advance. When I picked it up, I could not believe how unprofessional the writing looked. It was as if a 3rd grader wrote it. I have photos of it. Yes, I took it because we were on our way to the party however I will never buy another cake from this vendor again nor will I recommend them. The flavor of the cake was mediocre, the value is definitely a 1 out of 5. Just FYI - this vendor does not provide sheet cakes, only the round ones. We picked up a honey glazed ham for Easter for the first time yesterday and it was delicious! The family loved it and I won't buy one anywhere else. Honestly, I didn't compare the price of the spiral sliced ham to one of the chains that I usually use because none of them are close - the cost of gas money and time round trip, etc. This ham was a hit with my family and the store is literally a half mile from my house or less. Convenient and excellent with great cupcakes for desert. We had a great Easter dinner together. They've recently relocated to 118 Dixie, still in Deer Park (closer to me!); cute little covered seating area outside as well as a couple of tables inside. Suggest a little music to be added and make sure the signage outside is good. Love having good businesses in my little town. read more

As good as it gets for cupcakes in lil ole Deer Park. Located on center street it's a nice treat to have close by to work. Our office often orders for special occasions and today was one of those days. I called in at 9:30am knowing they don't open until 10:00 am but I got an answer anyway. I explained that it was a last minute order and apologized for not calling before but we needed 2 dozen cupcakes in 2 hours. Lady who answered (might have been the owner but I did not ask) said, No problem were icing our cupcakes now I can have two boxes packed for you by 10:00 am when we open. Fabulous! I got the task of having to go pick up the order. Oh my it was torture walking in and smelling the sweet aroma of freshly baked cupcakes. It was not my first time trying their cupcakes and I always forget to review but not today! I got the pleasure of trying the salted caramel, chocolate chocolate, German chocolate, carrot, red velvet, Italian cream and the banana. And no not all on the same day! My favorite over all is the chocolate with chocolate on chocolate cause it is rich and chocolatey. It's a wonderful way to really please that sweet tooth. read more

I ordered my boyfriends bday cupcakes and specifically asked for St pattys theme paid $100 for 2 dozens and the decor was horrible. I had to go buy decor to add to the cupcakes I was annoyed by their slack of decorations. Their website shows all these different designs and it did not turn like any on the internet at all. On our way home from the airport I begged Toby my roommate to stop by a cupcake shop. Any shop! It didn't matter. I just needed a cupcake fix. Something Sweet in Deep Park, TX was what we narrowed our search down to based on their location and yelp reviews. Something Sweet is location on a corner lot off of a main road with easy access in and out of their shop. When we entered Something Sweet the smell was just overwhelmingly wonderful. If you were not in the mood for cupcakes before you entered the store, I can guarantee you were after taking one whiff of those freshly baked cupcakes. They have at least 10 different cupcakes available daily. They all looked beautiful! There were two teenager boys (forgive me I forgot your names) behind the counter who were upbeat and friendly. As we were trying to pick just a few cupcakes a woman was waiting behind us. We let her go in front of us. She knew right away which cupcakes she wanted. She asked us if it was our first time at Something Sweet and we said "yes". She said, "You are in for a treat. I usually never make it out of this shop with just two cupcakes". Toby and I narrowed our cupcake pickins to Peanut Butter Bliss, Italian Creme Cake, and Cookies 'N Cream. Both Toby and I picked a Peanut Butter Bliss cupcake. Who doesn't love peanut butter!! This cupcake is a chocolate cupcake with butterscotch and peanut butter chips topped with a fluffy peanut butter buttercream. We arrived at the store around 5:30 PM. I can tell you from previous visits to other cupcakeries most are dried out by the end of the day. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how moist these cupcakes were. The peanut butter buttercream was a bit sweet but you can definitely taste the peanut butter in it. I ordered the Italian Cream Cake cupcake. I have great memories of the most wonderful tasting cream cake from an Italian Bakery in South Carolina. This cupcake had a wonderful cake texture. As I am typing this review I read the description from their website http://www.somethinsweetdp.com/menu and it describes it as filled with fresh coconut and walnuts. I had no idea Italian cream cake had coconut in it. I did not taste any coconut in the cupcake but I did taste many walnuts. The cupcake cake was delicious even if I couldn't taste any coconut. The cream cheese buttercream was wonderful as well. I did not taste any cream cheese though. It also was not as sweet as the peanut butter bliss buttercream. Again, this cupcake was just wonderfully fresh and tasty. I will be coming back to try the Chocolate Chip Cheesecake which was suggested by one of the teenage boys and I am curious about as the key lime. Toby ordered the Cookies N' Cream based on the suggestion of one of the teenage boys. He said his cupcake was great. I can only assume he was speaking the truth becuase he didn't even let me have a bite. Just to make it fair, I didn't share my Italian Cream Cake with him so we are even! I would definately reccommend this shop to anyone needing a cupcake fix. The prices are very reasonable at $ 2.75 a piece. read more

Down side is that they are so sweet that I can only eat half and have to take some of the icing off because of the amount. Somethin' Sweet had at least 10 different flavors i.e. german chocolate, lemon, chocolate chip, etc. Cupcakes ranged from $2-3 a piece. It's also adorably wrapped in paper.
