    Small $7 taco

Wow Pelican I am SHOCKED.. how things have fallen!! I moved away for a few and Just returned .. This is the worst service I have seen in years and y'all used to be on point, on your game .... Service is so slow.... I just popped in for a breakfast taco.... Employee standing up on the inside of the counter, eating, trying to serve people with food in their mouth ! A cup of coffee to go is $3.75 coffee, this is my $7 taco It's great to be home, sorry guys I won't be back !!

Great local find, we went for breakfast this morning and tried the chicken and waffles and the eagle nest. The chicken waffles were subpar but the eagle's nest was delicious. The service was fantastic. I think we had one waitress and three others coming by to help with refills and to check on us.

What a cute little restaurant!!! Love the food and love the service. This was my first time to dine and me and my Broker had a nice Breakfast. Our server was fantastic. We will certainly make this place one of our go-to's for our breakfast meetings. Great place in our community.

We were attending a wedding nearby and this was the closest breakfast place we found to our hotel. We are so glad we decided to stop by. Our waitress was so sweet, she gave us some great recommendations on what to order. I decided to order the veggie omelette and a biscuit. My friend ordered some pancakes. Everything is as soo good. The place was quiet and very clean. Will definitely stop by again when I'm on that side of town.

This place was amazing. The food was not greasy. I had a very nice southern taste to it. our waitress was Ray and her and her team were extremely helpful to each other and there was such a nice vibe in the the restaurant! Just what i needed this morning. Food was perfectly seasoned and no long wait for anything. Small cozy breakfast spot! And the pancake was so good that i forgot to take a pic! A MUST STOP AND EAT WHEN IN TOWN

Some coworkers and I came here on our lunch break. The restaurant is very casual, kind of exactly what you would expect from a seaside diner (although Pelican Grill is not located near the water). Our server was friendly. She took our order (5 people) without writing down anything, so that caused some of us to have some anxiety. She ended up getting one of my coworker's sides wrong, but the problem was quickly fixed. My chicken fried steak was pretty good. The steak itself is kind of nondescript--basic but good. The mashed potatoes were, I think, the best thing on the plate. Very flavorful. The salad is a little weird to come with a chicken fried steak but I guess I'm not complaining about some greenery with the heavy steak and gravy. I would've liked a soda, but they only have soda from a can (I prefer fountain). Their menus were also really sticky. I'm not sure if I'll be back here. I live across the water so I'm more of a Skipper's person. Pelican is not bad, but not great enough for me to drive to this side of the water.

    The Driller
Two strips of bacon and two sausage patties with three eggs soft scrambles. Served with toast and a side hash browns.

The Driller is certainly plentiful, with two strips of bacon, two sausage patties, three eggs any style, toast and a side of your choice (Hash Browns, Home Fried, Grits, Salad, Sliced Tomato, Fruits or Sliced Avocado). I went with hash browns. Although the pancakes were very pretty to look at, and had a lot of flavor, I just found them to be too thick and doughy. Overall, nothing about the meal was great, it was a typical greasy spoon breakfast; on the other hand, nothing about the meal was bad either. That said, I don't eat Egg Benedict which so many rave about at this place, so if you do, it certainly might be worth a try.

The Southerner breakfast. Hash browns, two eggs, chicken fried steak with white gravy and toast

This was our favorite stop in the Kemah area. My kids begged us to take them here every morning for breakfast on our mini vacay.

A small one crawling on the wall near our table and someone from my party saw a larger one crawling near the kitchen. And boy was it stuffy in there. I asked our waitress if she could move a floor fan near for some relief and to detour the gnats, she said she go ask but she never came back and when she did she completely forgot my request. We weren't seated in the greater eating area where it was cooler and maybe where the gnats were less of a bother. The food was delicious and homemade, you can tell it was made with high quality ingredients and that Southern skill that you can only get from helping Grandma in the kitchen. BUT the roaches made us lose our appetite. Such a shame. It seemed like the building went down. They don't seem to put as much effort into the condition of that place as they do the food. Dusty ceiling fans and crummy floors. I appreciate the homey vibe but it looked really junky, more stuff piled in unoccupied corners as before. I gave a lot of things the side eye, I mean it there has to be maintained asthetic. They charged an 18% gratuity on my tab for a party of 8 but I arrived with 4 people, the other 4 had already been there, paid and was almost done with their meal. Then of course the cashier/waitress still mentioned an additional, optional tip. I didn't think that was fair. At the end of it all she wasn't the best waitress.

A few years ago, I took a shot at reviewing The Classic. It wasn't exactly a love letter. Maybe I…read morecaught them on an off day. Maybe I was in one of those moods that turns minor disappointments into grand philosophical grievances. Either way, time has a way of sorting these things out, and after many return visits, I'm happy to admit I got this one wrong. The Classic Café is one of those increasingly rare neighborhood institutions--a place woven into the fabric of Clear Lake. Walk through the door and chances are somebody knows your name. If they don't, give it a week. It's less a restaurant than a community living room, fueled by coffee, comfort food, and the kind of hospitality that can't be manufactured by consultants or corporate training videos. What strikes me every time is the staff. In an industry where burnout is practically an occupational hazard, the people here seem genuinely glad you showed up. They move with the confidence of folks who know what they're doing and the warmth of people who actually care whether you enjoy your meal. There was a brief and regrettable period when the green beans took a wrong turn. It happens. Restaurants experiment. Sometimes inspiration strikes; sometimes it wanders off into the weeds. Thankfully, sanity prevailed, and they returned to form. The result is exactly what you want from a place like this: honest, old-school comfort food done right. If you're new to the Clear Lake area, understand that The Classic is more than somewhere to eat. It's a landmark. It has weathered hurricanes, reopened when others couldn't, and remained a steady presence through good times and bad. Owner Brad has long been a familiar face, showing up not just for the restaurant, but for the community around it. In a world increasingly crowded with trendy concepts and forgettable chains, The Classic Café endures for a simple reason: it knows exactly what it is. A neighborhood institution. A refuge for regulars. A place where the food is good, the welcome is genuine, and Clear Lake feels a little more like home.

I'm extremely happy with Seabrook Classic Cafe and highly recommend supporting this restaurant!…read more My first experience here was actually during a pretty stressful situation. My vehicle broke down at the dock at Lakeside Yachting Center during a storm, and I couldn't find a tow company willing to come get me. I ended up being stuck at the dock overnight. The staff at Seabrook Classic Cafe were incredibly kind and let me come in to charge my phone while I figured things out. I was very hungry, so I ordered their egg sandwich, and it was fresh and delicious. Even though I live about an hour away, that experience made such a good impression that I came back later to try more of their menu. I'm happy to say everything else I tried was just as good. The stuffed jalapenos were excellent, very flavorful and stuffed with crab and cheese. I also ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was great, especially with their toast. The fruit bowl was fresh, and of course I had to get another egg sandwich, which was just as good as I remembered. They even brought us a complimentary slice of carrot cake, and it was fantastic. I'll definitely be coming back again to get more of that carrot cake, and next time I'd also love to try their prime rib. Our server was very friendly, and I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. It has a cozy, retro diner feel that makes it a great place to sit down and relax. This restaurant has absolutely earned my business. Even though I live an hour away, I make multiple trips to the South, and I'll definitely be stopping here often!
