The sandwiches were absolutely delicious. I was also very impressed that they prepared the gluten-free sandwiches in separate containers from the rest of the order. That extra level of care really stood out. I highly recommend Old Moon Deli for anything from a single sandwich to catering for 30 people. They're great.

My boyfriend got their sandwich that was similar to an Italian sub, which comes with the olive spread on it. He liked his sandwich, but felt the olive spread was overwhelming and scraped most of it off. He later said that had there been less of it on the sandwich it probably would've been better for him. My stomach was a little upset, so I was looking for something milder. So I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich off of the kids menu. Maybe it's just me, but a grilled cheese sandwich is American cheese on white bread, grilled. Here, apparently children eat cheddar and Swiss on a grilled roll. I asked to hold the Swiss, and went with straight cheddar as American was not an option. It was OK, but nothing to write home about in my opinion. Apparently this is a popular spot, as the tables were full both before we arrived and after we left, but unfortunately, we did not have an overwhelmingly positive experience.

I loved the concept, and everything came together perfectly good food, good vibes, and good times. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. The décor leans heavily on inspirational and religious‑style sayings, not just sprinkled around but covering enough wall space that they become part of the experience whether you want them to or not. It's half diner, half devotional gift shop, and if being surrounded by that kind of messaging isn't your thing, you'll clock it instantly. It's quirky, earnest, and unmistakably theirs, giving the space a lived‑in charm that fancy restaurants spend fortunes trying to manufacture. The menu leans into hearty, diner‑style comfort food: big breakfasts, sandwiches stacked like architectural projects, baked goods that look like they were made by someone who cares, and daily specials that feel like they were chosen by mood rather than committee. The food is straightforward and satisfying in a way that doesn't need to apologize for anything. It's not reinventing the wheel -- it's just making a really good wheel and serving it with a smile. There's a steady hum of regulars, locals, and people who clearly got told "just go to ShyKatZ" by someone who knows better. It's the kind of place where you can tell who's been here before by how confidently they order. The vibe is friendly without being performative, and the whole operation runs with the kind of casual efficiency that only comes from doing the same thing well for a long time. What ShyKatZ really nails is comfort -- not just in the food, but in the feeling that you're somewhere that doesn't need to impress you to win you over. It's the opposite of polished, and that's the charm. You come here because you want a good breakfast, a solid lunch, or a baked treat that tastes like someone made it on purpose, not because a corporate recipe binder told them to. If you want something fancy, curated, or Instagram‑engineered, this isn't the place. But if you want a meal that feels honest, filling, and pleasantly unfussy, ShyKatZ is exactly where you should be.
