Ducked off down a random storage lot. Well worth the drive. Stopped here on our way back from Galveston. The reviews didn't lie the burgers are good even though this is a seafood spot. The fish is fried to perfection nice and crispy but still moist and flaky. They have the best hush puppies . One of the specials were the smoked boudain balls with jalapeño cheese. This is a difficult place to review. Understand that it is a local dive which looks on the rough side, so 5 stars here doesn't mean it counts as fine dining, but the food is quite good and service is friendly. The outdoor seating is on a channel where you can watch the shrimp boats and birds and fish, and the odd local can dock their boat and stroll into the restaurant. It's a place where it is interesting to walk around and see what is going on while chatting with your friends and meeting new people. Unfortunately I hear that they will have live music and dancing there by the water, which isn't what we are looking for. Others may enjoy that sort of thing. read more

A nondescript, mom-n-pop at the back of a self storage facility at the end of the road, next to a bait shop. Several in my groups had burgers and I stayed with the seafood. Everybody raved about the food. Highly recommend this place. 5-star. read more

Getting to the fish spot will have you thinking your headed in the wrong direction but trust the process you'll get there. We came on a Friday night and there were a bunch of regulars and locals. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. They were very accommodating, great service! The food was a little soggy so I have to give them 3 stars and I wish they had a better sauce selection. My beautiful mother brought my sister and me here for lunch over Spring Break. She and my brother raved about this place. We tried to visit on a Sunday but it was packed. We tried again on Tuesday (they are closed on Monday), scored a table, and ordered with no wait. We started with an order of onion rings which were very tasty. My sis and I shared the Seafood Platter and there was so much food on it! The Seafood Platter comes with fried fish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, hush puppies, fries, tator tots, or sweet potato fries and coleslaw. (We chose the fries). Everything was piping hot and yummy. The serving of coleslaw could have been bigger. My mom ordered the chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes with cream gravy and green beans. She said the chicken was too thick and didn't have much flavor. I'm still giving the Fish Spot 5 stars because she said the food she ordered on previous visits has been great. The service was friendly and fast. Definitely looking forward to going back the next time I'm in Texas City. read more

This dive was awesome! Off the main stretch in a residential area back behind some storage buildings on a little inlet of water surrounded by boats in Texas City, it's the best cheap food we've found yet! Local mom n pop, this food spot had all the staple bar foods as well as some great classic seafood. We did burgers, fish & shrimp, and a fried chicken sandwich as well as a few of the appetizers. The short version: anything they hand bread themselves is awesome! Fish, shrimp, fried pickles...awesome! The waitress said her favorite was the burger and that locals come for that and the shrimp. She was right. The burger was delicious! Hand mashed patty's. Full of flavor and juicy. We added an egg and bacon and bam! The best part about this place was that all the staff knew all the locals by name. They had regulars. And with the prices, I can't wait to be one myself! OMGeeeee! The food here is to die for, and the service is what you expect at a home based restaurant that makes you feel at home. I had the meat loaf, thinking that it was going to be tomato sauce. Lo and behold, it wasn't! Which is what I loved the most. It came with a side of mashed potatoes and vegetables. They were all so good. My sister had the catfish and fries, I can't even begin to tell how flavorful it all was. And of course, we drank sweet tea, who can resist.
