From the moment I walked in, I was greeted nicely and showered with information about their menu. The cashier really knew their stuff about the options I had before me. The iced matcha latte turned out to be amazing, it had a little earthy note while maintaining a sweet and smooth drinkable flavor that I just loved! Great location close to the Bosque Trail east access by bicycle, Roller Skates, Skate Board or Run/walk. Dog Friendly Patio and they offer a free dog cookie each visit. This is a fantastic coffee shop -- the aesthetic is beautiful, and the menu is thoughtful and creative. The Café con Leche and Dirty Matcha were both absolutely delicious! The ginger cookie was phenomenal -- perfectly spiced and super fresh. We also loved learning that they work with a commissary baker off-site who makes all the pastries. It's great to see that kind of quality and care behind the scenes. Shoutout to Michael -- he was incredibly helpful in walking us through the menu and explaining everything clearly. Definitely give that guy a raise! One small suggestion: we were a little disappointed to hear that the non-coffee caffeinated drinks are bottled juice. I work on a coffee truck, and we use a brand called Lotus -- it's derived from the coffee plant and makes for a great non-coffee, carbonated energy option. Not a great experience for us today. I ordered an ice latte, and it was really bad. It has weird taste and sediment in it of some type. It was room temp even though it had ice in it. I took a couple drinks and brought it up to counter and told them something was wrong with it. I got another one that tasted like I was drinking just oat milk. I couldn't finish it either. I got a gluten free second and it just must have been a day old one or just a bad one as it was really dry. My friend had a dry cap and it was not dry at all and piled high with foam that did not look like normal milk foam. We won't be back. read more

So what's not to like? Satellite Coffee is a great little local ABQ coffee haus chain that serves up great Joe with a warm smile. Attached to the hip to it's sister eatery, Fly Star, they often offer up some of the same delicious sweet eats, mostly made form their shared commissary. In a day when most of the "Gourmet" coffee shops are unwrapping frozen goods to pair with their coffee/teas, Satellite goes that extra mile and provides deliciously homemade deserts. The staff is super friendly and greeted me right away and there was absolutely no wait for my chai latte. I see that they have this really cool drink called Strawberry acai recharger with green coffee extract. I must try this next time. If you're looking for a nice, quiet and a coffee shop within walking distance to the river bank than this place is for you. It's conveniently located on Coors and Alameda since you can stop by, grab a cup of dirty chai and be on your way to work since we all know Alameda is a better route to travel to the East side of town. They do have tables outside and you can sit under the huge trees and watch cars, people and bicyclists since it's right next to the Bosque trail. Speaking of which, want a perfect date? Swing by get a coffee and walk to the Bosque trail - about 1/4 mile east of this shop, then you and your significant other can watch the sun set whilst feeding the geese/ducks. Would it be a perfect or near perfect place to study/ read? I'd think so, it's quieter than flying star - its bigger brother. One down side, its food/ drink menu isn't as big as its big brother. Last but not least, if you have a reward account with Flying Star or a gift card, it can be used here as well and vice versa. read more

Great coffee, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and extensive menu. If you're hungry, there are lunch items as well as a pastry counter. And if you just feel like grabbing some Joe with friends and camping out for an hour on the couch (or on the patio if it's nice out), nobody is going to chase you off. If anything, they'll ask you if you'd like a refill. This place CAN get a little overrun with laptop users, it being the only real alternative to camping out at Starbucks, but there's usually plenty of space to have a seat. (Usually, not all the time.) My only gripe about Satellite are those last few dregs of coffee. They tend to be grainy, and if you got a flavored coffee, it seems like their syrups settle to the bottom rather than fully incorporating into the drink. Don't be surprised if you get a mouthful of grainy syrup if you try to finish off your drink completely. Ick. read more

I'm not a regular to this coffee shop but I think I may become one. I had an incredibly pleasant experience here. It's peaceful and the decor is oranges and reds. The seating areas are great for getting work done. Curtis, barista on shift, was so genuine and friendly. He helped me pick out a drink that was right for me. Their products here are really different but also very crowd friendly. A latte with cardamom ?!! Love it. I feel so lucky to pass by daily, this Satellite location. I live for their Cafe Con Leche: their magical mixture of expresso, cream, and sweetened condensed milk, that only comes in one size, the perfect size. I'll tell you now that even people who don't "like" coffee will LOVE this beverage. I've only had fantastic service and I'm going to be honest, even if the baristas weren't exceptional, I would come back for their locally perfected roast. Not to mention, they have some pretty spectacular food. Get any of the breakfast burritos... Delish! Go to this place!
