My wife ordered a chicken gyros and I ordered the Baba Ghanoush sandwich on a Greek pita prepared with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and Kalamata olives. Unfortunately, our experience started off poorly the moment we walked in. We were immediately told that the kitchen was very busy and that orders would not be taken for another 30 minutes, which we completely understood and were willing to wait for. However, the way this information was communicated made us feel unwelcome. The hostess's response came across as dismissive and sarcastic when she asked, "You want to wait 30 minutes?!?" after we had already agreed. We were then met with continued frustration and a lack of hospitality while trying to simply be patient customers. We ultimately decided to leave because the interaction made us feel like our business was not wanted. I understand that restaurants get busy and delays happen, but a little professionalism and a welcoming attitude go a long way. Food was tasty! The falafel is mediocre; doesn't compare to other versions I've had. However, their shawarma game is strong! We had the chicken (with cream garlic sauce - yum!) and beef shawarma sandwiches. No notes, delicious! The baba ghanoush is also amazing, although it could use more pita (without the extra charge). Only problems we had was the restaurant was uncomfortably warm and we never received our french fries that we ordered, although they were friendly when asked to remove them from the bill. Found an amazing Meditteranean restaurant serving both Greek and Lebanese favorites located across the street from New Mexico State University. The restaurant is clean and modern inside. This was a really surprising and tasty Mediterranean find near our hotel and just across from the local university! Inside is spacious and clean, modern ikea style furniture and decor. Food service was fairly slow but this was our only real gripe. The food was excellent and a really pleasant surprise. We tried both the Greek and Lebanese combo plates. The meats were all fantastic and well cooked, not overcooked or poor quality. We loved how many options there were to choose from. The seasoned rice was also really good. The portions were good for the price and we all left full and happy. I'd happily come back if in the area again or if I lived nearby. I'd expect it's a great place to get takeout from as well. There was parking outfront but the strip mall it's in was busy so difficult to get a spot up close during dinner time. However plenty of spaces a few stores down if you can walk a bit. read more

Pleasantly surprised for a restaurant so close to a college town. Interior is clean and bright, food came out very quickly and tasted amazing. I came alone but really miss Greek food so got a bit of everything and was not disappointed. Ambience - it is a place that will take your order at the table and bring food to the table, but it has a casual feel . Menu not extensive like a full-service Greek restaurant, but adequate. Lebanese food too. Hummus - small size was huge and over the top delicious with freshly grilled hummus wedges. Gyros - lamb - perfectly grilled to be crispy on the edges and served with the traditional tzatziki, onion and tomato Lentil Soup full of flavor, served hot. I was in Las Cruces traveling and that evening. I wanted a little something different to eat. Being a yelper, I found Santorini. It's kind of tricky to find if you're not local. It's right across from the university. So I imagine they get a tremendous amount of student traffic. Parking can be an issue, so I might choose to go during a less busy time. I was lucky and found parking fairly close. I walked into a very bright, spacious restaurant. It's also about expectations. Everyone is understaffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The restaurant was clean. The service was fast and efficient .The food was good and solid, hot and delicious, and the portions were really generous. I had the Gyros sandwich, and it was the lamb, and it was very nicely seasoned. I also had a Greek salad, which was tasty. And of course, some baklava, which was also tasty. Went for dinner, service was good, but the food itself, had some issues. Ordered: Pork Souvlaki (Greek) Grilled Pork Loin marinated in spices with Tzatziki & rice on the side, served with a small salad and a Greek pita. Pork was skewered, cooked on a flamed grill and being pork loin, not particularly flavorful but definitely a bit over charred, blackened? The rice was overcooked and too salty, probably had cooked down too much. Salad was very basic, not much to it with lettuce, olives, covered with a simple vinegar, oil dressing; Pita bread was cut into small triangle shapes with tzatziki sauce (whole pita cut in 1/4's). For dessert I ordered a walnut baklava. It was OK but very small cut shaped portion and a bit on the dry side without much honey in it. Overall, the portions and food were definitely on the small side; there seem to be an attempt to make everything small to maximize revenue and with a soda about $25-$30. While, I believe these were dinner plates, one could make a observation that they were small portions; to a point they could be considered a small sized sampler plate or hors d'oeuvre platter, rather than a full dinner entree, typical sized meal. I went with a group and was charged a set "service fee" This was my first time going, but overall not particularly impressed with the food quality; very small portions seem to be a definite business decision and when leaving did not feel satisfied or that one is getting a normal sized meal. Later in the evening, I got a second meal elsewhere, to fill me up. The server was fine and helpful, discussing the menu, had good recommendations, etc.,; after paying the bill or at least attempting to, I had to go to the back counter and figure out where to give the signed credit card receipt to. Paying the bill and not really having a set register area, made figuring out where to complete payment and dealing with the receipt was a bit odd; having a specific area with a POS system would be better, reduce payment confusion. read more

I don't understand the positive reviews. I ordered takeout. The food was ready on time but it was pretty expensive for the small number of items I ordered. Doubly so when you factor in the following... I am staying six minutes from Santorini and the food was ice cold and soggy by the time I got it home. The portions are absolutely tiny. The flavor was acceptable but nothing to write home about. Maybe dining in there gives you a better experience but for my money, it's a no go. In my opinion Santorini is a Gem among the usual fare found in Las Cruces. They serve Greek and Lebanese dishes that are all delicious. They have plenty of vegetarian dishes that are vegan as well. I've had Lamb Gyros sandwiches which are the best in town and, the other day I ordered a Falafel sandwich that comes with lettuce, tomato and hummus on a Lebanese Pita for lunch with Maghli which is a Lebanese rice flour pudding for dessert. Both were excellent and easy on the pocketbook. They have salads, soup, Appetizers, vegetarian sandwiches, meat sandwiches, platters, sides and desserts with drink options. What's really cool is they have a students special menu that is valid with a student ID and it includes salad or chips and a soft drink. The service is everything it should be and there is plenty of seating to accommodate anyone. The restaurant is clean and bright and welcoming. We moved to Las Cruces recently and needed to find a place to have a small catered lunch. It was for a bday party for about 14 people. I called and spoke with Sarah who was really nice. I ended up going in to speak with her. The restaurant looks so much nicer on the inside, very clean, and the smell of the food was so mouthwatering! Sarah was extremely helpful with creating the menu and pricing it out for me. Upon picking up the order, everything was ready on time and well packaged. It smelled so good, it was a tough 15 min drive home with all that food in the car. The great reveal was not disappointing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and there was more than enough to go around, take homes and leftovers for the rest of the week. The meal items: - Falafel: Never had a falafel dish taste so good! They are also the biggest I've ever had. - Hummus: Beautiful presentation, very fresh and light. - Greek salad: The most abundant dish, too many olives (personal opinion because I do not like Olives). - Spanakopita: they are LARGE and very hearty. You got to choose which three appetizers you wanted, but I'm used to getting at least 4 items in a platter. I wanted falafel, dolmas, hummus, and baba ganoush. "Greek Salad" popped into my mind and Yelp told me that this place served them. Santorini is very clean and bright (lots of windows). The waitstaff is very friendly and the service is quick. The only word I can use to describe the falafel is "cake-y". It didn't taste bad, but was not like any other I've ever had. The salad was barely Greek-adjacent. Some shredded lettuce bathed in some flavorless, light oil, a light dusting of feta cheese and a couple of small, black olives. I was disappointed.
