I wish I'd found this place out sooner! There's not too many mediterranean places in El Paso, but this place definitely exceeded expectations. Ambiance - Cute restaurant with appropriate decor. I loved the ceiling because of the different patterns and colors. It definitely made the atmosphere feel more homey. Service - Seems like there was only one server but he was very polite and attentive. Did in a great job especially with the amount of tables and people that were present. Food - Had the traditional combo and gyro wrap w/ chicken orzo soup. The fatayer was a really pleasant surprise and was probably the best thing off the traditional combo. Gyro wrap was fresh and well proportioned. My favorite was the chicken orzo soup! Will definitely be the soup I go for on a sick day. It's a little hidden but definitely worth the find. The food here has a different style than what you normally find in a mediterranean food, but interesting and delicious nonetheless. The traditional combo is a great way to try some of the more interesting items, but the fatayer and chicken orzo soup were standouts for me! Will be back to try other things. read more

We ordered lunch through Uber Eats. Husband got a small gyro with tabouli and a chicken schwarma with hummus for later. He said the meat was incredibly flavorful and tender, but there was a bit too much veg for him. I thought it looked fine, but he's a little anti-lettuce :-) Since we were eating at home, I doctored up the tabouli a bit with extra lemon juice and garlic. It was delicious! The hummus was pretty good too. Portion sizes were incredible for the price, especially the sides. Honestly my only complaint and reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars was because the warm pita strips for the hummus were delivered in a tied off plastic bag, and the trapped steam made the bread a bit soggy. I understand it has to be hard to deliver certain foods - may just have to try them in-person sometime and give them a better shot! read more

You must try this place! I was craving Mediterranean food so we ordered from Salma Farah through Uber Eats. We ordered Farah's Combo which was way more food than we expected and enough to feed my family of 4 probably two and a half nights for dinner! We also tried the chicken shawarma and eggplant with black olive pesto sandwich. The eggplant sandwich is nothing short of amazing. All of the flavors go together perfectly and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. There is so much on their menu I look forward to trying in the future. Wonderful place! read more

I've had only good experiences here so it's time to write the review. The food is delicious, generously served, fresh. The baba ghanoush is life-changing. The gyros are as big as my iPad. The new employee at the front is not as friendly as the guy who used to work at the previous location but I'm willing to ignore that since the food is still amazing. read more

Hidden behind Singapore Cafe, Salma Farah's is a quaint little Mediterranean place. Trusting yelp reviews, we met Eric R.'s cousin here for lunch. There was only one server, and the place was relatively busy for 2 PM, but the service was good. We were given free pita and olive oil with za'atar to munch on while we waited for food. I ordered the kofte kabob with a side of tabbouleh. The kabob was HUGE and flavorful, topped with grilled onions, on top of rice. The tabbouleh was very good. It came with a side of green beans with tomatoes, which was a bit weird and not that interesting. Eric R. got the traditional combo, which was a square of kibbeh, meat-stuffed dolmas, and a pastry (fatayer) filled with spinach plus rice and green beans. He liked the dolmas and pastry but did not enjoy the kibbeh too much (too dry, he said). Our cousin ordered the lamb kebob with a side salad. He seemed to enjoy it and took what he did not finish home. We sat there long after we ate and had a leisurely chat. We never felt rushed to leave. The atmosphere is casual and I would return if I came back to El Paso. read more

So many great Mediterranean restaurants near the Executive exit on the West side! Unfortunately, this is not one of them. The prices are reasonable, but this reflects in the quality and quantity of the dishes. The "grilled meat" I ordered was more like a heaping bed of rice with a meat garnish. Grilled meats come with green beans and one choice of side. First of all, since when does anyone come to a restaurant (much less a Mediterranean restaurant) to order heated canned green beans dumped into a porcelain bowl?! I simply didn't understand the logic behind this--it was so bizarre and tasteless that it undermined the entire entree. To be honest, I came here again to try the lentil soup. I have tried lentil soup at several other restaurants nearby, and each has a different take on it. I prefer a brighter, creamier, lemony lentil soup like the one served at Sinbad's or Cafe Istanbul. This one reminded me of Nour's, but it was more fatty and rich and contained whole brown lentils. I was not a fan of the texture, and I probably will never order it again. The baba ganoush was...unique? It was more whipped and less tart than what I am used to. I enjoyed it, but to me it tasted like a different type of dip entirely. The grilled lamb was odd. I'm not sure if it was undercooked or if it was cut into unwieldy pieces. I would recommend the grilled beef instead. The two highlights of the visit were the fresh, crisp Tabbouleh and the excellent service. Our waitress was extremely attentive and even sent us with a bag of warm pita to take home at closing time. The food overall was good but not great. My 3 stars largely comes relative to neighboring competition that I am comparing it to. With such a plethora of Mediterranean restaurants to choose from near UTEP, this may be at the bottom of the list for me. read more

Stopped in for lunch and was rewarded with a delicious meal! Ordered the lamb grill plate with rice and green beans- it was great! Super flavorful and juicy, not overcooked lamb, nicely seasoned green beans. I got the lentil soup and that was a little bland. Also got a side of baba ganoush and it was phenomenal. The woman working was so kind and accommodated that I don't eat bread and brought out a side of veggies to dip! Would def come back! read more

WARNING CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!! Avoid at all costs. Arrogant, racist mask less waiter with a negative attitude that will racially profile you. The service is the pits and not worthy of a visit. I went into the restaurant to order and no one was in the entrance to greet me so I went into the restroom. When I came out the mask less waiter was sweeping the floor and asked me what I wanted to drink. I told him I was placing a to go order. He continued sweeping and after 6 minutes he came and told me "You people been trained to flush a toilet". I was surprised by his racist attitude and felt racially profiled! I could not believe this blond, pony tailed, waiter would have the gull to discriminate against me. I told him I wanted a to go order and he put his finger in his nose and said "What do you want on it". Signaling that he would put boogers in our food. I had heard of waiters spitting in customers food but never put boogers. I asked him if he was giving a hard time, and he said "YES". I left. The owners should be aware that this waiter is an arrogant, racist, bigoted, low life that is costing them money and they could be held responsible for a customer's bad experience. We went to Nour Mediterranean Café and got the service one would expect from a restaurant representative. We will never ever visit SALMA FARAH restaurant... read more

Talk about a great place to eat with very personal service. This is certainly one of the most unique restaurants in El Paso, and for good reason. The owner comes out to take your order and is beyond polite and pleasant. He provides suggestions to try if it's your first time here or other food to try if you've been before. He's professional beyond all means and one of the most polite people I've ever met. Then they give you super delicious food. You can order literally anything on the menu and be guaranteed a delicious meal. And a healthy meal at that! Definitely one of the best if not the best to eat in El Paso! People need to check this restaurant out, healthy food and way better than pretty much anything else around! I could eat here every day! read more

My wife and I had a free night without the kids, so we decided to try something different. Salma Farah's was one of those restaurants that we really didn't know much about, but the reviews we've seen were really favorable. So we put it on the "We've got to check it out" list of restaurants. On this particular evening, we decided to shoot up Mesa from the house to give it a try. We pulled into this weirdly situated restaurant at the end of a shopping strip type of building and it appeared that we were the only guests that evening. We were really hungry so we were anxious to get our food ordered. We entered the restaurant and we had to whole place to ourselves. The dining area was clean, neat and simply appointed. We were greeted enthusiastically by our very friendly server and offered menus. I ordered the traditional Mediterranean plate and my wife ordered the stuffed grape leaves plate. For starters we ordered the Baba Ghanosh, which was flavorful, delicious and substantive. Our server was very attentive and refilled our pita bread bowl as needed. We received our entrees shortly thereafter and we just dug in. After the entree, we ordered the Baklava. It was soooooo delicious, we ordered some to go. The food was delicious, flavorful and also very substantive. So much so, that we had to get "to go" boxes. Overall, Salma Farah's Mediterranean is a great place to get your Mediterranean food fix. We enjoyed our visit so much, we plan on making this place one of our regular spots. This definitely falls under the "Good eats" category! See you all there... read more

This place is awesome! First off, it is kind of hidden behind another building and right before a Chinese restaurant if you are coming from the South. So be careful if you are using gps and don't spot it from Mesa when it tells you that you have arrived. Once I realized I had just passed it and turned around, we went in to the unassuming little place. Careful because the door on the far right is actually the door to the kitchen area. The inside is also nothing fancy, with cheap tables and chairs and very little decorations. Don't let any of this fool you though, they focus on the food and that is what matters. We ordered the hummus and boy did we realize we were in for a treat as soon as we sampled this delicious creation! The waiter mentioned bringing us bread and oil and in taking our appetizer order, he forgot that part. I kindly reminded him about it and he promptly brought it to us. The bread and oil are the house treats like chips and salsa at Mexican places. The bread was also delicious. A type of focaccia that was dense, but fluffy and very tasty. It also went great with the hummus we were enjoying. For the main dishes I had myself the meat gyro and my girl had the black olive pesto, eggplant sandwich. Once they arrived, boy oh boy, were we surprised! They were both very large sandwiches! My gyro was full of delicious tasting meat. The flavor took me back to NYC where the meat was almost always perfectly seasoned. The pita it was in was soft and fluffy and tasted homemade as well. I noticed that a family came in just to buy a bag of pitas that one of the children called pizza dough. I suppose they are big enough to make great homemade pizzas. My girl's eggplant sandwich was also delicious! Maybe even more so than my gyro, but since we were sharing and it was obviously too much food for the both of us, I held back my jealousy. Her sandwich was on the same house bread we were served with oil. The flavor was buttery and exquisite. It had a lot of eggplant and cheese and was nicely toasted on the outside. I had the fries, which were awesome, and she had the tomato soup which she loved and i thought was okay. We both managed to finish only half of our meals and brought the rest home to enjoy later. We also could not resist taking some hummus to go and for $3 it is a much, much better deal than anything you can buy at the store. I am so glad that I got a Groupon to try this place out. I think our entire meal only came out to about $30. Well worth it in my opinion! Writing this review has made me crave their food so I am going there for dinner! :) read more

The freshest pita bread! The hummus was perfectly seasoned. There is a slight tangy flavor and not too much oil. I ordered the gyro and the size of the pieces of meat were actually pretty large, plus some were in the typical slice shape. The only own side was the lettuce was not the freshest (ordered from uber eats so might be fresher if you get it right away in the restaurant). I would order from Salma Farah's again though. The pita bread! Also the fee for ordering via yelp is $2 cheaper than uber eats with similar ETA! read more

Great food and great ambience! It's not as fancy as Zino, but they make home style Mediterranean food with great flavor! Not sure why they just don't have great business though. read more

Ordered Pickup from this restaurant via YelpEats. We ordered 2 gyros with sides of hummus and an extra order of tabbouleh. The gyros were HUGE (we chose the small size) and had a healthy serving of meat, lettuce, tomato, and cucumbers. The flavor was good, the bread was soft, but it lacked more of the tzasitki dressing. The sandwich/wrap was delicious but because of little dressing and a large portion of the meat, it was dry. Hummus and bread sides were delicious! The tabbouleh was fresh, lemony, but on the salty side. It was actually too salty and I could not enjoy the rest of it. I've had tabbouleh plenty of times and I prefer a more lemony flavor to it. The saltiness was equivalent to soy sauce in my opinion. Overall, we'll order again for lunch and perhaps stop by for dinner to check everything else out. read more

Very good mediterranean food. Very cozy little restaurant. They recently remodeled and the place looks great. I went in on a Tuesday night and it was deaaaad. So i cant speak to the service when busy but it was exceptional when I was only table there lol. Doors held open, order and drink brought quickly (refills as well), and food incredibly fast I was impressed. On to the food. I was brought complimentary bread to start. It was a very unique style of bread that I have never had before. Sqaure almost coffee cake style, the top is coated with olive oli and herbs. You take a bite into it and at first you think the texture is a bit rough and maybe stale, but its just the topping as you chew you really get the flavor and it starts to sort of melt in your mouth (in a good way). Despite my initial impression, I found myself eating all of them. It was different but good. I ordered the grape leaves/dolmas as an appetizer and they were out very quickly. Smaller than I'm used to, they were packed with flavor. The yogurt saw was very thin, watery texture, but remarkably sweet. I liked the yogurt but I think i prefer the thicker variety. For my entree I ordered chicken schwarma with a side of hummus. This is a big dish and they are very generous with the chicken. The chicken was a good mix of slightly crispy and very tender. I was a big fan. The hummus was delicious. Definitely the berst hummus I've had in town so far. And they were equally generous in portion size with the hummus. They provided a side of bread to dip in the hummus. While I definitely prefer naan style, the offered bread was good and flaky and went well with the hummus. All in all I was very impressed with the food and service. One oddity was the receipt didnt list the actual food I got. But the price seemed right so I guess they just have standard buttons depending on what you get. So dont be too surpised. I will definitely be back. Great date place. read more

Was in town visiting friends who are vegetarian so going to Lebanese food was a perfect balance for them and us carnivores. Unassuming restaurant that def needs a storefront facelift, but food was solid. Huuuuuge pita sandwiches. If you get the "large" size it's a must share size. Even the small sandwich is shareable. This place is a hidden secret. And I do mean hidden! You aren't able to see it from the street; it's behind another restaurant. I was the only one in the restaurant and was waited on right away. Ordered lamb kabobs and they were fantastic! Perfectly grilled on a bed of rice. Included chicken orzo soup. Rice was a bit too buttery and orzo in soup over-cooked but flavors were spot on. Wil definitely return when in El Paso next. read more

Found this place on Yelp called to ask for directions and put In an order for Schwarma and chicken pesto sandwiches and let me tell you this place did not disappoint. There was so much flavor on the Schwarma sandwich I wanted to call and order another. The pesto was good too but I'm not a bread lover so for me it was way to much bread. My suggestion is they should have a pesto pita option. The hummus was delicious and the warm pita served with it was fresh and soft not hard like most places. The establishment location is off putting and reminiscent of an authentic village restaurant in the Middle East but once you sit and eat you forget about aesthetics. Will be back before weeks end. read more

I came to this place once with my boyfriend and I absolutely loved it! The hummus is amazing!! I had the gyro and it really was cooked perfectly. The meat was nice and tender and it wasn't dry at all. I definitely will be returning to this establishment The second time we can to this establishment the food was still great but the server was a jerk. My boyfriend asked if the portion was huge and he replied with "I don't know your appetite" so my boyfriend got the larger portion and it was ridiculously huge. He could've just simply said it was pretty large. So for that we will stay away from this place since we were returning customers and he decided to be rude. Arribaba is a better option service wise. They also have delicious hummus and food. I would skip the rude and annoying server if you are going to this establishment. read more

Awesome food! Wish i would of tried them sooner! I had the gyro, hummus and lentil soup all were delicious.

The food was amazing! The service was friendly and the environment was warm and enjoyable!

Excellent excellent food! I hadn't had Mediterranean food in years. The last time I had it was around 2000 or 2001 as a college student! It wasn't from this restaurant. I'm not sure why I waited so long to get some more! I ordered an extra large gyro via Yelp. It was HUGE! No lie, half of it was like the size of my head! The meat and fixings all had a good flavor. I also ordered the fried potatoes for the side. All of the food tasted good and fresh. I couldn't finish it on my own so I shared it with my significant other. He enjoyed it because he took MY leftovers to work! He asked me to pack it in his lunch. The guy works hard so I agreed to let him take it. The food got to me quickly. I'd say it was delivered within 20-25 minutes of placing the order. The driver was very pleasant to deal with. I've dealt with her from other places I've ordered via Yelp. She's always polite and kind. I also thought the prices were fair considering the huge portion of food. I paid $13 and change. The gyro had a ton of meat and veggies in it. It's similar to a wrap or burrito. A+++ experience here. I would definitely dine in or order delivery again. I'd like to try their dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) and shawarma (similar to a gyro) next time. I wouldn't mind trying the kabobs either. The kabobs are supposed to be their specialty. If not, I'll stick with the gyro again. Mmm! I went to bed happy. P.S. If you spend $10 or more, the delivery charge is waived. If you spend less than $10, the delivery charge is $2. read more

First Mediterranean I've tried down here and I wasn't disappointed! The service is quick, the food is cheap, and the quality is great. My only big complaints are that the ambiance inside is weird. When we went no one was there (at peak dinner time too!) and when a party of 8 showed up the server said they only had 7 menus (???) even though the house seats about 25-30. Also, the food is HUGE. we got the "small" sandwich and it is laughable. It was hard to eat and mine ended up falling apart! This may be a better place for carry-out, as I saw lots of bags being picked up. Either way, a great bang for your buck and some awesome hummus. read more

Food was excellent but service was slow. Based on the looks of panic and constant apologies from the only waitress in the restaurant on a Saturday night, there presumably is usually more than one person waiting tables. My husband got hummus, the tabbouleh and the falafel pita, I got the chicken orzo soup and we shared the feast. It was delicious. The flavors and spices were warming and not like anything else you've had in El Paso before. True Mediterranean food, lots of spices, these people know what they are doing! We will go back to reevaluate for service and then give 5 stars. read more
