Was able to catch an early afternoon Rom-Com movie, "Solo Mio" on a Saturday. We entered the lobby and you have to have a bag-check. It's been awhile since I've been to this theater and remembered that the reclining seats weren't as comfortable as Alamo Drafthouse's. Well I think they had a remodel since then because the seats were very cushiony, seemed newer as the seats weren't worn down and the width of the seats and spacing between seats seemed ample enough that you're not going to bump your neighbor. The tray tables are also well-placed so that your table isn't impeding your view. I think it was well-designed. It was a smaller theater with only 5 rows but the terraced rows were low enough that someone walking in the lower row won't impede your view as well. The theater wasn't super cold as some places are where I'm using a hoodie and jacket in the middle of summer. Folks in line and around us still brought their blankets, LOL! To note, there's a $5 Santikos ticket deal where you can buy these tickets during the last few showings of a featured movie. They're only available for purchase at the theater according to the onscreen ad. Concession stands are downstairs and there's a bar. The screen showed a clip where you can order your food and have it brought to you for a small service fee. There was also a message of knowing where to exit and being vigilant with your surroundings or something to that effect. It's always good to be street-smart these days. After the movie, we exited and there was a Sheriff's Deputy that was outside and looking at his phone. I figured he was going to be on guard today or perhaps the weekend since a major world event occurred today that I expected ramped up security in public places. read more

Saw the Minecraft movie here. And the theatre was super clean. Bathrooms amazing. I love that this place has movie memorabilia. We had popcorn, extra butter, and a freestyle soda, diet cherry vanilla Dr Pepper. The ticket taker was super nice and understood we had a larger group coming in. The concession stand gentleman was super quick. The clean up crew was very quiet entering the movie towards the end and I enjoyed this theatre. read more

Would Not Recommend Me and my friend recently went here and they checked our bags at the front. Okay, that's fine, but the lady made a big deal about us bringing up drinks. Now, I know company policies expect different things, but really? No need to be rude like the lady was. So fine, I yield and take my bag back to the car. Mind you, they let you bring in snacks. So why not drinks? I come back in, and the same lady huffs because I interrupted her conversation with the other lady, and then acts like she hadn't just checked my ticket 2 minutes ago. Since moving to Texas, I was glad to see that they there were ample choices for movie theaters. I have always been a huge fan of AMC, and they are usually my go to. However, since finding Santikos & all of their uniquely individual theaters, I am a fan. The Embassy in particular is a really cool theater. As soon as you enter the impressive lobby, you are transported back in time, but are also met with the modern conveniences of today, which includes exclusive movie memorabilia. Even though I am not a person that usually drinks alcohol, they have a very inviting bar. The snack bar is a major standout for me. They have really good food & snack options & it is very good quality, for most movie theater food. I have had the pizza & the pretzel & they were both really good. Better than any movie theater chain that I have been to. They also have a self serve popcorn refill area, which is something that I haven't really seen at any of the theaters that I have frequented, which is a really cool feature. The seating is your typical recline & dine type seating. In my opinion, not the most comfortable, and kind of reclines in an awkward way. They also keep the theaters very tidy, as well as the theater as a whole. Overall, a great experience & I will be coming back on a regular basis. read more

The Embassy is a great place to catch a movie! The theaters are smaller in size, which means people are less talkative or prone to text and be distracting. For me it's one of the best things about this theater since I like to give movies my undivided attention. It's always clean and the atmosphere is just so cool. There's different Hollywood props all over the place so if you're waiting on friends or food you have a lot to distract yourself with. A lot of the food is self serve or can be picked up code-secured pick up boxes to help eliminate concession lines. Super convenient. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at the Embassy, so I'd definitely recommend seeing your next movie there! read more

Fantastic place to watch a movie. It's renovated and well taken care of. Tickets can be purchased online beforehand, or via machines or at concessions on the day of. The seats are reclineable, comfy and clean. Who wants a sticky chair to watch movies on anyways? Good sound system, and plenty of room for mobility challenged. Plenty of parking outside. You can't go wrong with bottomless concessions. As for the ambiance, the decor is nice. They have replicas from different movies. Up to date posters and movie standees and banners for upcoming films. It's a good time. Plenty of restaurants around this location for good eats before or after your cinema experience. read more

I am really torn on my review. This is our families favorite movie theater. It's clean, the staff is really great and they move through the line really well. The food is also great. The fact that they contribute to a lot of causes is also pretty awesome. Here's my rub. We were in line to buy tickets and the teenagers in front of us were new to the area and their folks dropped them off. They had enough cash each for a ticket, popcorn and a drink. Unbeknownst to them and us the theatre does not take cash. But they have a machine that charges you a fee to buy a santikos card you can then use to buy a ticket and food. So they take advantage of kids who have no reason to have a credit card. We of course paid for them bc their folks already left. These cashless companies really need to read what is written on the cash paper they are refusing to take. Then to charge extra bc they refuse to take legal cash and tender should be illegal. So are they donating money out of their pockets or the money they are extorting from kids who only have cash? read more

Bought tickets thru fandango for this theatre for the Barbie movie during my trip. As soon as we walked in, we knew we were going to love this theatre. They check your tickets as soon as we walked in, we already selected our seats, so no worrying about it. We got here earlier, so stop by the bar browsed the menu & decided on margaritas, they were delicious! Bar tenders were nice & the bar was clean. We decided to go ahead & get in line for snacks but not only do they have snack they have meals as well. So of course I had to try what they had, I got a medium popcorn, a pretzel, a soft drink & the chicken bacon club sandwich & fries (they do take your phone number to send you a text when your food is ready for pick up. Only complaint is I wished they had trays it was hard to carry 2 drinks, popcorn & pretzel. Fun part, fill your own popcorn bucket & soft drink (freestyle coke machine ( free refills ). The refreshment station was well stocked. Once we got to our seats, they do have tray w/ a cup holder built into the seats that swivel. It was plenty of room for my food. While on my way to pick up my food (pick up text came w/ a code to access your food in the vending machine style station). We stopped by the bathrooms, they were cleanish but oddly smelled like a litter box. Once we got to the food pick up, enter the code & bam your box with your food door pops open, easy peasy! Once back in my seat I dug in, the chicken sandwich was juicy & a good size. The bacon was crispy, tomato juicy cheese perfectly melted. The fries were delicious. The popcorn was good, the pretzel was a bit thick but good. The movie sounds quality was great & the seats were comfortable. We enjoyed our cinematic experience. We definitely thought it was really cool that the theater donated to charity & definitely made us feel better about our purchase. read more

As soon as I walked into the theater, the person checking tickets, had an attitude. I have NEVER heard of a movie theater that checks people's bags. I would understand it if there were any rules or regulations that were included in the confirmation email from them but there weren't any rules for anything from outside sources. When the rude lady was checking my bag, she rudely told me and my friend that we won't be allowed in with our drinks (which were nonalcoholic; just sodas). My one and only stipulation; No Cash?! Like anywhere. Not for tickets, concessions, anything. It's a great place to catch a movie. The lobby is dark and glam filled with movie paraphernalia everywhere. I'm skeptical about that Thor's hammer, no way it's just in San Antonio! Tickets and seat selections can be bought in or outside. The popcorn and butter is SELF SERVE, you just pay at the til for the size in advance. There's also classic candy, hot dogs, pizza and nachos, and a lot more. There's a full service bar with a great in-house margarita and fairly decent prices. Has the full reclining wide seats with leg rest and tray/cup holders. Never seen a movie here that I didn't enjoy. If they had a monthly movie pass, I'd already be signed up. read more

I come here all the time with my boyfriend we love watching movies. The line at concessions always moves quick the self serve popcorn and drinks are very convenient. Also love the bar with good bartenders and reasonable prices, It's always super clean in the lobby and the restroom. I had to make a complaint because another person was being disruptive and yelling and cursing loud during the movie (he was drunk) and the manager took care of it right away. read more

Hands down THE BEST, NICEST, and most LUXURIOUS movie theater I have been to. At an AMAZING price YES PLEASE. My husband and I came to watch Bad Boys and the experience was truly superb. I fell in LOVE with this place the decor, bar, and recliner seats are next level. They have amazing prices and they offer a military discount. Plenty of parking they sell drinks have food to order and it tastes delicious. Employees are very helpful and friendly. He doesn't know the drinks, kept telling me what ingredients they DIDNT have without making recommendations, and seemed to be BEGGING me not to find a drink I wanted. PJ the new manager discriminated against my daughter for a medical necessary accommodation. It's like he could not understand. He did refund her ticket but she missed out on a movie with family and friends. We have been going to this theater for 30 years and never had an issue. When i went in to speak with him, "he had to leave for the day" and was unavailable to give a reason for him not following ADA rules and regulations. If they don't fix this issue with their new manager, more issues will follow. You can't refuse service based on a medical condition. SHAME ON YOU SANTIKOS!!! read more

This is an amazing theater. We received exceptional customer service without even asking. We were walking out of our movie because our toddler was not feeling well and was causing a disruption. The manager Linda Campos was walking down the hallway and read our faces. She immediately stopped to talk to us. She was so understanding & offered to refund our tickets if they had been purchased through Santikos. We were beyond grateful. Not only is the management of this theater superb, it's so pretty. The lobby has crystal chandeliers, plush lounge sofas and a cocktail bar. The food is also delicious with generous portions. We got the fish and chips. You also get free refills on popcorns, slushes and soda pop, no need to stand in line again - it's serve your self :) The theaters are clean with comfortable, reclining seats, the screen images are crisp & clear and the audio quality is top notch. Santikos is better than Regal because they have fresh made food, such as hot pizza, cheese, pepperoni, and veggie. The chips, queso, and salsa are pretty good, even better than some Tex-Mex places. The best thing about Santikos if soda is a big deal, is the unlimited self-serve. At Regal, you have to get in line to get a refill. Not cool. Anyway, today I came to Santikos and they were all very nice. When I arrived at 11 just five mins before the previews start I was hankering for some pizza. In fact, I was thinking about the pizza the whole way here. But they didn't have it made! So I was like "awwwww, no pizza?" The nice cashier said that they would make it and she could text me when it was ready. That was cool. Thank you Santikos! Remodel looks good. Concession stand has nice selection of snacks and food. Wish I had not eaten so many much before I came because the pizza looks good boo! I got a pretzel which takes 10 mins to bake fresh and was served piping hot! That's a plus! I am concerned how they manage their labor. There were a bunch of kids with no supervision in sight. Some of the food was waiting too long to be served, I watched as people's food was just sitting there and they are trying to figure out if it's ready and the kids looking confused. One customer picked up her order and said she ordered the gyro not the flatbread. The kid just stared at the plate and said nothing. He was so clueless the customer just gave up and said "you know what, just nevermind, my movie is about to start" and walked off with the flatbread. Conveniently hidden on Embassy Row. A gem once you've discovered this location and made it your regular theater. The drinks from the bar are always served nice and strong. This visit was my first since the major remodeling done to this theater! The inside is amazing with chandeliers, comfortable sofas, and long concessions area. Outside is an area to buy tickets electronically self service while inside has a small, manned, three person area to purchase tickets yourself. The prices and popcorn and drinks is average, but they have an awesome rewards program that gives you cash back and also a free ticket on your birthday and other perks! For $8, you even get your first ticket free and popcorn. Totally worth it! The new seating is super comfortable with large couch like Recliners and your own drink and moving food table. There's so much space now for people to walk around that late comers don't bother you too much. I only wish that there was a policy to silence neighbors from chatting during the movie. That's the only downside to watching in theaters besides one in town that mostly eliminates talking. Besides that small inconvenience, the entire experience was great! Love the charitable mission and it's a nice theater. But be careful when buying tickets online. Santikos allows third parties to sell their tickets, then they take no responsibility. I Googled Embassy Theater, clicked on the site, chose a movie and a time; but it turned out i have bought the ticket from Fandango they gave me the wrong theater. The manager at Embassy shrugged it off and said all he could do was sell me a second set of tickets, which means I paid double. Santikos would take no responsibility and Fandango wouldn't give me a refund. Just beware of this scam. Santikos and Fandango got their money twice. I got excuses. read more

Recliners. Enough said. Embassy is the coziest place to watch movies ever. Definitely recommended if you're treating yourself to a 2+ hour flick and you're not sure if your booty can handle theater seats for that long. Bring a blanket or a pillow, stretch your legs and get comfortable. Never again will you have to worry about the pain your bottom will endure next time you catch a new Star Wars movie. Standard Santikos snack prices, which are reasonable. I am obsessed with their pretzels with bacon beer cheese! The ultimate movie treat. Feeling antisocial? First impression. Not at all pleased with customer service. I asked for an individual popcorn and was told. The smallest one you have to get the combo. Get the cup and put it ice in it. Well I have to say The manager Joe was cleaning out the theater, mind you I never saw his name tag. He was very friendly and welcome me to the theater. I started telling him about the experience I had upon arrival including the person checking me in. I won't go into detail about that she was a manager in training Long story short I shared what I felt was a horrible start to something I was looking forward too. Joe made it better not just by his wanting to make it right by paying for my movie because I refused several times and he insisted. His caring warm personality and his listening to me attentively. He sincerely apologized. I will say so far I'm enjoying this place. I will give them another chance To add it's very clean and comfortable seats in fact it's a recliner. When we walked in the door, I spotted the woodfire oven & my heart skipped a beat. So excited! It looked gorgeous, but the thin crust was a bit too crispy and kinda tasted frozen & basil sauce was too sweet. But it is a movie theatre after all, so not sure what I expected ?? Maybe might have been smarter to stick with a regular crust instead of flatbread. On the upside, my icee was awesome & had unlimited refills. I absolutely loved my trip to this theater. I wish I had one of these where I lived. Near and dear to my heart was the video that tells the story behind the theater and the community service and the heart of the ownership and the leaders for how they work in the community to help those who are in need. Absolutely amazing!!! I will also note that they had a Box at the front of the theater where they were collecting toys to support the efforts to give back to those who were in need! Everything worked out smoothly from the multiple spaces for parking. The ease of using the ticket kiosk outside of the theater with very large screens. I had zero issues ordering my food from the snack bar. I ordered a hot dog with truffle fries. Spinach and artichoke dip. This is served warm with chips and pita slices. I liked that I received a text message when my meal was ready to be picked. There was a bar available if desired. I opted for a self service beverage. The highlight for me was the very cool movie memorabilia located throughout the theater. Thor's hammer, shoes worn by Sandra Bullock during the blind side movie, etc. I loved the lobby area how beautiful and regal it looks with the chandeliers and plush couches. The staff was super helpful and friendly and I was in theater 10 which was super clean the climate was a perfect. I did not have any issues from the theater itself my only disturbance was the woman who came to the theater with a horrible cough think bronchitis meets pneumonia or COPD. It was very disconcerting when you're trying to enjoy a movie and a meal and someone behind you as coughing without covering their mouth. So I went to have my food packaged up so that I could enjoy it at a later. I had finished my fries and hotdog before she arrived. However, this is not a knock on the theater but it's a knock on a customer making sure that she is healthy or at least wearing a mask instead of openly coughing. read more

Embassy theater is my favorite in San Antonio. I live near Windcrest, but this is the main theater I go to. The cleanliness of the entire place including the restrooms, to the lobby, to the theaters, I feel comfortable when I'm there. Their staff is always helpful, kind, smiling, (yes, really. I've never encountered an employee that's not smiling), and the snacks are decent. Sure prices are ridiculous, but that's been that way since the 90's. So deal with it. This time I had gone to see Angel Has Fallen, apparently a sequential movie...I had no idea. ‍ It looked good, so I suggested a few friends meet up for it. We were all pleased. The seats in this theater are recliners, & super comfy. I appreciate the fact that I can sit down, put my feet up, relax; yet, others can still walk by & not bump me. I do wonder how often they clean the chairs. There's a thought that will eat at the back of your mind. You're welcome. Beside the chairs, I'll be honest, I love that I can get an ice, any way I want it. Lol and refill it. By far, in my honest opinion, the best theater in town. Oh, & get you a Santikos membership. It's free & you earn free stuff. I've had a free movie, a free large drink (which yes, I got an icee!), & a free large popcorn (which I made heart attack worthy!
