We went to go see Wicked and decided to go to this Santikos location I hoped that there would not be a big crowd overall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we got there the parking lot didn't look that full and there was no line at concessions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They checked our bags as we walked in and that process was fairly simple. We ordered our food and then headed over to the bar area for the limited time edition Wicked inspired drinks in souvenir cups. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were at the very top row in theater 8 and I have to admit that those were great seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was a bit worried about it being a pretty crowded show, but surprisingly no one sang! I technically sang along in my head, yet out of respect for others and their enjoyment I didn't sing along; I will when the song along version is released. Now; I have to admit that this is the second time I have been here and I am still at bit baffled that we have to serve our own popcorn here. I mean it's cool and all, but possibly having people's serve their popcorn with dirty hands and then everyone else has to use those machines and touch the dirty buttons which will then touch your popcorn that will eventually be eaten is just not very hygienic. There is also no way of telling just how old the popcorn is. Other than the odd way to get popcorn, everything was great. Though if I ever go to this location again I will not be getting popcorn. 1st ANGELINA she's a lovely lady who took our ticket with a smile,and happiness was so full of life! Then my girlfriends& I who have been attending the Galaxy since we were 12 years old back in the 80s...YES WERE still cool by the way! THEN at concession stand were we met LEO& JORDYN among everyone else I didn't get everyone's names but everyone was delightful and sweet and helped us with our snacks and very professional.Now later on during the movie as we were watching.... Materialists, which was a beautiful movie,and a very real not a fairytale story. We had a person in there mind you in the entire theater there was only 4 who was kind of upset with the happy remark of the laughter that we were having so we mentioned to the wonderful manager David, who went there to do a little monitoring and then after that everything was smooth sailing! An oldie, but still a goodie. I've been going to the Santikos Galaxy since the late 1980s. Back then it had current games, overpriced concessions, and plenty of screens to show the latest movies. It was great. These days, they have seats that recline, bottomless concessions, and so so video games (but hey, it's post pandemic - no harm, no foul). Purchase your seat online prior to arriving and you'll be all set to enjoy... the latest movies with awesome clarity and sound. For adulting, there's a full service bar. Table service is available, but I haven't seen anybody utilize that particular service the many times that I've been to see the movies. Did I mention endless popcorn and drinks? It's clean and the service has been good the last couple of times we've been. read more

Went here to see the new thunderbolts movie and had a wonderful experience! It was my first time at this theater and the cashier was more than happy to answer all my questions. I searched a while for a movie theatre with recliner seats in the Kirby area, and found this gem. The people were polite and there was a nice bar with a seating area; as well as some arcade games. It wasn't too packed and there was a nice vibe to it all. Not a huge theater but it definitely gets the job done and offers a little bit of everything. I also noticed that they do 5$ deal Mondays for first responders, and military. It includes the movie ticket, large popcorn, large drink. I always greatly appreciate locations that offer things to us people who have served. I will be coming again! read more

I like a good theater for the few movies I chose to see on the "big screen". You know, those epic ones, or those bigger than life that are best experienced in the immersive fashion a good theater gives you. Well, this is one of those theaters. The screen (#6, I believe) I sat in was large and had the new standard of large reclining seats with the extending footrest. The screen itself was in very good condition showing no blemishes, the projection was clear and high quality, and the sound was excellent. I don't like the over-the-top theater sound experiences like IMAX - they are excessive and detract from my enjoyment. This theater was just the right amount of sound intensity - it even rattled the seats a little . I even more rarely buy concessions and did not do so here, so cannot comment. The only oddity here was the lack of any kind of box office - just walk up to the concession to buy your ticket or check in. Maybe that's more common now, but it was new to me. It certainly makes business sense for the theater with one-stop for tickets, entry,and junk food. BTW, they also had a bar with various brews on tap. Lastly, the theater was very clean throughout. I don't understand the low ratings for this place. It seemed first-rate to me. read more

Very comfy seating. Staff we pleasant and helpful. We watched Avatar and were comfortable and well tended. The place was clean, food was decent and same prices you'd expect from any other theatre. The snack bar menu (and drink menu) are similar to Santikos Embassy: all the classic movie snacks, plus heartier (and some healthier) options. The decor at Santikos Galaxy is more mid-century space age (whereas Embassy is more golden age movie glam) and it's a nice refresh. It's not a vast entertainment palace like Palladium or Casa Blanca, but there are a few arcade games in the lobby. The movie theatre itself is fine! The nasty garbage customer service the "lead" gave so unprofessional, didn't even look at me while talking to me. He messed up and didn't give me my change back which I didn't care it was only 2 dollars but the fact that he didn't apologize and continue to give me some bad attitude was pretty upsetting. Let me say that I may be a little biased because I grew up in the 80s going to the Galaxy theater and loved it. It has been through so many names since then, I can't count. During that time, especially the Rialto days, I saw it go downhill fast. However, I heard they remodeled it a couple years ago and changed the name back to Galaxy. I went with my family to check it out, and it was like going back in time. The games were back, but newer and they give tickets for prizes. It was super clean, which was a big change from when it was the Rialto. One great improvement was also the RECLINING SEATS! I have gotten so spoiled that those have now become a movie must for me, so I was so happy they upgraded. Very comfortable!! We had a great time playing games before and after the movie. It doesn't, however, have all the bells and whistles of some of the newer movie/entertainment centers that keep going up with bowling, fire pits etc. This defiantly has more of an old school movie theater feel, and a must do for any "Stranger Things" nostalgic for the 80s people - especially if you grew up going to the Galaxy in its glory days. This theater has everything it needs to be great but it somehow is not. There was no ice in any of the drink machines, the soda was all carbonated water and tasted funky no matter how many times we dumped it and tried again. There were two or three out of order soda/slushy machines so the lines for the other few were crazy. I will say that the pretzel and queso we got were very good and the seats were nice. The floor was dirty everywhere and it just looks like it is not well maintained. Sad because it could be really nice! Probably will not come back here. read more

I think the theater is great. Went to see the new Thor movie, grab some nachos and soda on the combo meal. It cost me an arm and a leg but wasn't that bad, you kind of have to expect it. The game room was pretty expensive, I was a little surprised. The service was pretty damn good quality everybody was nice, even though it's kind of small.
