Worked with another dealership that had no problem with being transparent on the full breakdown of the vehicle price. Dealership is cramped, they explained a new one is being built down the road which is much needed. Car information by the sales rep was 100% great, very nice people. It's hot, they will bring you a small styrofoam cup of water while you work numbers. Compared to other dealers that will throw you a gatorade, water, something in June its kinda lame. The ownership here is cool with a sales rep carrying three styrofoam cups of water to an open air cubicle in the waiting room where Service customers are seated and hear the entirety of your conversation. Its pretty terrible. I hope the new place is much better. My Issue is they PRESS Hard on the 3rd party warranty with scare tactics of "oh they may not cover the screen info center in 13 months". But, you can buy this $3800 extended coverage. It is everything you hate about car dealerships and nothing enjoyable. I hope these dealers follow Blockbuster video into oblivion. Kristian got me in my used 2012 Kia Sorento. Damon was able to secure it in my own for me, as a first time sole car buyer. All the staff were so nice and great! Even signed up with their Allstate insurance on site - was my cheapest option! Only complaint is they do have some weird dealer fees ($500 for sanitation, but then a $2,649 average service fee, so plan on spending a few grand more than listed) *update* RIGHT before my 30 day mark my battery is out. I was told that a brand new battery was put into my car which is why the fees couldn't be dropped. My battery is dead. Nothing has happened. I reached out to the sales guy as it was completely unacceptable. Not only did Kristina handle it extremely inappropriately, he also proceeded to call me "sir." I am a woman. It took a week to come in & it came in around the timeline we agreed on. Everything from ordering the car, processing paperwork, and getting the car went smoothly from start to finish. Called in the morning for a car they advertised. Still available, we were told. Gave them our phone number in case the situation changed. After work, drove 45 minutes to get there. Met the fellow we spoke with earlier, who invited us to his desk while he went out to get the car and drive it around so we could test drive it. He came back 10 minutes later. He was friendly and I felt like he listened to what I wanted and got straight to the point and put me in the car that matched all my requirements. What put me off about this purchase was the dealer add ons (desert protection package and some other additional protection package that was never disclosed to me. I generally despise the entire dealer buying process. I called late on a Friday night because of a 4.5k price drop on a certified pre owned. I asked to be sent the out the door price without all the BS addons that dealers like to hide until the end because it would be an hour drive to see this seltos. Jesse Hernandez texted me the total about 20 minutes later, and I showed up next day at 8 am and bought it. I appreciated him recognizing my emphasis on out the door total price and not being salesy. He let both of us test drive it and gave us space to discuss it after. Also the best dressed one there Financing guy was dookie, tried to initially offer us %15 because the Kia financing hadn't come back yet. He assured us of his presence and promised us things in advance just so that he could bring us to his office. When we showed up there, of course, he was not in his office as he promised. We dealt with another person and things were very bad, especially when we drove on the highway for forty miles. It's not worth the hassle. This place is a comedy of errors that costs you money. Stay away. We purchased the Kia EV6 in July and I am still sorting out issues and begging for help because no one will respond to calls/texts. Our salesperson was Scotty. He seemed great and then disappeared when the issues started stacking up. We asked to not have the desert protection package added to our car. It was on the car when we arrived to do paperwork. Classic bait and switch dealership stuff. But ... We sucked it up and went along with it. Come to find out that the window tint was applied over dirt and residue and had to be redone. Then a month later the door protection strips started to peel. They were applied too high and had to be redone. The service department took care of it but it cost me 2 separate 2-hour round trips. During the financial portion of our experience we were mislead, being told that the amount we financed would be fine with our bank even though it was above our pre approval. It wasn't OK with the bank. We had to come back another time to resign paperwork. Another 2-hour round trip. Finally - and an issue I'm still dealing with - they registered our car as a traditional gas vehicle. I asked our sales person and our finance person to verify it would be done correctly. They promised it would be. To my shock we received a gas vehicle plate in the mail 6 weeks later. After I called to report the issue, they made sure we got the correct alternative fuel plate but they still haven't refunded us the more than $400 difference in price. I hear it's the states fault, a third party's fault. All I know if I overpaid Sands Kia and I'd like my money back. GM seemed to care and listen to this feedback but never returned subsequent calls about the registration. Their titling department is useless and every time I follow up I have to start from scratch. Find a dealership that doesn't forget you immediately after they get your money. read more

I have been shopping all over the region for a new PHEV and settled on the 2024 Kia Sportage. I talked to Jacob who was giving me a great deal. The only catch was he gave me nothing formally in writing because he said he didn't want me to take it to another dealer for a better offer they couldn't beat. It took a day and a half to drive there. So before finalizing the deal, I called him multiple times to confirm the out the door price. When I arrived, he showed me a quote that was over $3000 more than previously stated and the cherry on top was an insultingly low trade-in offer. Fortunately, I called my home dealership at that point and got a pretty good offer. Not the one I was hoping for, but still in the ballpark. It was clear they figured I wouldn't come all the way here if and not buy anything. Moral of the story: if they aren't giving you the deal they are offering you in writing, then they probably can't actually give you that price. And if they are giving you a great deal over the phone, make sure you insist on the $500 deposit to hold the vehicle because that protects you from the price changing. Jacob did a courtesy hold which I now realize he did not put of kindness, but so he could change the price. read more

Very poor sale people. I was looking online at a NIro EV for my wife and drove to the dealership to look at it. The first is the price online is not the actual price and they have a markup. I do not like that process, as I believe you should list the actual price. That was the first strike. The second and bigger one for me was that the salesperson Joe. He argued with me about how home prices are marked up as well. Like I give two warmed droppings, about the housing market when buying a car. He did not put any effort into it and again just would say some pre-prepared spiel about how a trade-in is worth more. Thanks Joe but no thanks, I got the deal I wanted somewhere else. I just bought a Kia Seltos EX 2024. I love it. I met with Drake, who took the time to show me all the options and listened to my criteria. Even when I changed my mind on the model, he didn't flinch and test drove a couple. Drake took the time to talk numbers and went to bat for me with his Mngr. At the end, I was fine with my payment. I could have stayed and haggled out another $2,000, but was tired and just wanted to go home. I only spent less than 2-3 hours, from start to finish out the door. Chris, the Manager, was very kind to work out a deal with me. Just a side note to the 1 star people; If you don't speak up for yourself, then no one will. If one is rude and condescending to others, why should any Manager want to go that extra mile to get you the car you want. Patients, Food and genuine compliments go a long way. Prices may show on the sticker, but buyers are ultimately the ones responsible for bargaining a price good for both parties. Give and take a little, til you meet somewhere in the middle. What a nightmare. My "salesman" was Tyrel Potter. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM!!!! This was the only dealership that had the car I wanted. I called to make sure they had the car. The sad excuse of a salesman, I believe HE was "internet sales" wanted to deal through text. I'm glad HE did because I have all of the "ooooops, I made a mistake again "lies" that HE promised me in text. I thought things were going fairly smooth until I got the first "oh yeah", I need to add dealer markups so I can afford to eat; followed by, "oh I gave you the wrong numbers" to "oh that was a mistake, my bad". As if this wasn't all frustrating enough, HE said he would have the car all prepped for the next morning so I could come in to drive and maybe finalize the purchase. The next morning I drove 35 miles to the dealership with my best friend to be a witness if the "lies" continued. Upon arriving at the dealership I was informed that HE had decided to take the day off?!?!?! A friendly gentleman named Jacob, I believe, offered to help. A few minutes later Jacob returned with more bad news. It turns out that that the SALESMAN I was dealing with, whom decided to take the day off, provided the wrong stock number to the technicians and they prepped the wrong vehicle. The salesman that were helping me told me they were sorry and that my SALESMAN would make it up to me; maybe a few free dinners or something, and I was informed by the dealership at that time, that they would have my SALESMAN bring the car to my house the next morning. Well, who'd of guessed, HE couldn't. So, I asked if they could at least send a ride-share to pick me up so I wouldn't have to drive another 70 mile round trip. They agreed. Upon arriving HE didn't even have any of the paperwork started?!?! After filling out all the paperwork, get this, HE tells me that it was going to cost more because HE accidentally gave me invoice price instead of MSRP!?!!? AND, HE had the audacity to ask me not to attack his character after I told him HE had lied to me. I finished the deal as quickly and as quietly as I could. Oh yeah, I had asked him to let me talk to the general manager, which he said he had requested, and, ready..., no one ever came. I mentioned to my SALESMAN that I had been told that HE would make it up to me with a couple free dinners or something. HE asked me who told me that; I answered the other salesmen. HE laughed and said "I wish, I can't do that". Of course. I'd had about all I could take. So, all was supposed to be done, I asked where the charger was for the car, and yup, HE forgot it and had to go get it. We go out to the car, which was supposed to be fully charged. HaHa, nope. HE apologized and babbled another ooopsy excuse. I told him I just wanted to leave. The car only had a 43% charge. So, no intro to the car, no automotive tips, nothing, no thank you for your purchase. HE simply blurted out, "this is the worst sale I've ever made". You think??? Oh yeah, HE had a post it note on his computer terminal with the following written on it: But you, Take Carage! Do not let your hands be weak for your work Shall be Rewarded! 2 Chronicles15:7 I guess admitting fault and telling the truth would have been weak?!?! Upon driving the car home, I noticed the wrapping on the steering wheel is coming off. I'll have to take it in to get it replaced; luckily there are other Kia dealerships. I think i aged 10 years from this experience. And, to top it off, he gave KIA motors the wrong email address so they couldn't send me the survey. What a weasel. I had a great experience today involving the service department manager, Ron. The details are not that important, but the crux of the matter was that I had a check engine light come on on my 2016 Kia Soul. I was panicking because the code that came up up was not good and a mechanic had told me it could involve major repair or even engine replacement. Ron checked the VIN on my car and found out this was a recognized problem on that year Kia and steps had been taken to solve the problem. The Kia Co. had extended the engine warranty to 150,000 miles regardless of ownership so Ron said if the light came on again and stayed on, they would replace the whole engine for free and provide a rental car while the work was being done. Boy, what a relief! I was amazed to see so many bad reviews regarding the sales part of Sands, but the service manager is a winner in my book . read more

Worst experience I have ever had at an auto dealership. I would give them a zero star rating if I could. I responded to the Craigslist advertisement below and it fit the need for a small car that could be flat towed behind an RV. It was a fair price and I knew taxes, licensing and registration were additional. I was shocked that they added $5,500.00 to the base price and would not even counter offer my $17,500.00 offer. I am businessman am I would never jack a customer around with misleading advertising and waste their valuable time. The price as you can see went from "Make an offer $18,500.00" to a no bargaining price of $23,995.00. Shady shady shady! This dealership will tell you what you want to hear and make it seem like they're offering you a good deal but when it comes time to actually making a deal they hit you with all of these add ons you didn't ask for. In my case, it was over $2,000, including almost $1,500 for some desert protection package, which is just absolutely ridiculous. I was dealing with Michael "Scotty" Downes mostly through text. I was interested in a K5 EX with the premium package and have a few other quotes from dealerships around the valley. Michael made it seem like they were beating the sales price of the best offer I had and pressured me into filling out a credit app and kept asking me when I could go to the dealership. He was very reluctant to provide me with any numbers and I could tell he was withholding information and that the fantastic deal he was offering wasn't so fantastic so I pressed him for more info. Turns out that he wasn't beating the best deal and he was over $2,000 higher. Why? Because of these ridiculous add ons they put on after the car arrives at their dealership. They charge you to disinfect the car ($289), window tint ($500) and for a security system and desert protection package ($1,495). All of these add ons are marked up several hundred dollars and it's a way for the dealers to screw consumers. DO NOT PAY THEM. I didn't ask for these to be added and it was the dealership's choice to add them on, not mine. Say you visit a McDonalds and you order a Big Mac and they tell you that it'll be $5 at the ordering screen and then when you pull up to the window they tell you that it's going to be $30 because they added in all this extra food you didn't ask for. Would you pay it or drive away? Same concept here. Additionally, it's ridiculous that they add on a security system because the car comes with a factory installed one. I also have a few quotes from some tint companies and they are all around the $300 range. I would rather support a small business than a huge multi-national greedy corporation but Sands Kia doesn't give you that option. So greedy and to charge that kind of money for window tint is clearly price gouging. And I'm sorry, $289 to spray disinfectant in the car?! Give me a break! This dealership is ruining Kia's reputation, which is already on somewhat shaky ground and they have totally destroyed any trust I had in them. I will not be giving this dealership my business or any future opportunities to earn it. **Update** This dealership continued to contact me regarding the vehicle purchase and I also inadvertently submitted a TrueCar inquiry which went to them. I worked with Scott Collins and wound up making them a very fair but firm offer on the vehicle, which they rejected. Because of this I went with another auto manufacturer and let the dealership know so they'd stop contacting me. Mr. Collins responded with, "Sorry you had to settle." I found that to be rather rude and unprofessional and it makes me happy that I did not give this dealership or Kia my business. Terrible service, terrible pricing, and terrible employees. Drove an hour one way to Sands Kia because it was supposed to be the best Kia dealership in the valley. What a disappointment! Sales manager was the main problem here. Was looking to buy a Sportage Hybrid (which is nearly impossible to find currently) and saw it on the Sands Kia website that one was coming in. However, just because it's challenging to find doesn't mean I'm willing to pay an extra $5k - $8k for it. Not to mention all the dealer add-ons that cost extra that you really don't need either. My salesman was Tyrel, who, in fairness, was friendly and seemed to be doing his best until he made a HUGE blunder (more on that later). I told him we either wanted to buy the one on his lot or build one and wait for it if he can do it at MSRP and without the dealer adds. He was reluctant on negotiating the dealer adds but said MSRP shouldn't be a problem if we build and we could get it in 60 days. He relayed our interest and scenario to his manager, Chris, and then told us that "your presence in the dealership is power" and if we really want to cut the MSRP deal, we'd have to drive the hour it takes for us to get to Surprise. He also promise we'd leave happy. When we got there, Tyrel was friendly and appeared to be doing his best, but his manger Chris ultimately said no deal. We were disappointed to find out that Chris knew the whole time he wasn't going to give us the deal we wanted and still had his salesman tell us to drive all the way out. What a waste of time and gas! Shame on you, Chris! Remember when I talked about Tyrel's big blunder earlier? I texted Tyrel when I got home about my disappointment in driving all the way out there for nothing and asked if we could still look at building the MSRP car for 60 days. He said no because our deal "wouldn't qualify for priority". As a sales person, telling your potential customer they're not a priority is a BIG no-no. Not to mention going back on what he said previously. Needless to say, we're not building with Chris and Tyrel. We've found the same car somewhere else for the deal we're looking for and are happy with it. And you, the reader, probably don't need to give your business to managers that will undercut their sales staff in pursuit of dollar signs and salespeople who tell you that you're no longer a priority for trying to negotiate a deal that works for you and your family.
