I went there today for my 3rd VR experience and it is pretty intense. We went there for "Deadwood Mansion" oh boy that was super fun (yet tired). Know that there are lots of interaction so make sure you wear something comfortable as you will be moving around most of the time (a great work out IMO) Finally I want to share with you all about why this place deserves a 5 stars to me... it is truly the people there who've made a huge difference! In my past VR experience our host was friendly and professional, he/she would explain all the details to us as they were there to do their job which is good, but besides all those basic service, our host today made me feel like she is our old friend and she is part of our team!!!! Yes I have to tell the world how awesome she is and her name is Dom who provided an excellent customer service. My sister took my sons ages 10 and 7 to have some fun .they both enjoyed it very much. My 7-year-old is a neurodivergent and requires a couple accommodations. SHERMAE made that happen. My son had fun felt respected and understood. He felt overwhelmed Shermae made it comfortable. My son mentioned he needed multiple brakes and shermae gave those brakes with patience and a smile. They LIED to me! When scheduling a large birthday party for 30 - 40 people the event planner said, "oh if you want a room you need to book at our Culver City location, there's a room AND a bar at that location!" So, I booked there, even though it was an extremely far drive for myself and all of my guests. About a week before I emailed to confirm and they said, "oh there's no room, you have been misinformed, we're super sorry and we'll cordon off an area so your guests have a room." Even though I was angry it was too late to change, so I went with it. I stupidly assumed they meant there would be an area for my guests with seating, but there was only seating for about 5 people. Better yet, no bar! No room and no bar! Many people in my party left because there was nowhere to sit, and all the others just stood up all night, including to eat the food I had brought in. All of that, so my guests could play 2 games, for $3,000! Important to note that upon arriving and seeing the standing room only area with no bar for refreshments as promised, I burst into tears and the staff really did their best and we made the best of it, but it was a terrible waste of money. Upon contacting them, they told me "too bad." Don't waste your money, these people are super dishonest!!! read more

We had such a greeeat time at the sandbox VR and have been trying to make my way back since. The wait wasn't long since we made the reservation online. We waited about 15 minutes for the other party to show up, but they never did so we went on with the show! We had minor technical difficulties that were taken care of before we got to the main portion of the experience. We did the Alien one and I'm glad we did. The room was pretty big and I don't want to ruin any details so I'm going to just say I loved it! The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because the gear that you have to wear. It could definitely use some more disinfecting or spray down of some sort, one of the vests smelled like BO and I will admit that during the experience you get pretty sweaty so I understand why it would but there should be more energy towards making sure that the gear doesn't smell like that. read more

What an incredible all around experience! Took my 13 and 15yr old Godsons. Check in was easy on a tablet, met up with DeVante who took us right in and explained how to put the equipment on. Once inside the "Play room" the boys were given instructions via the headset and then it was GAME ON. They LOVED it. DeVante was super helpful, patient, and enjoyable to be around. I was allowed to sit inside the same room while boys were playing and was able to record and take photos of them while playing. . After the experience was over, boys got to see a video of them during the game which was really cool. Definitely will be back. I've been to another sandbox location (SD) and the experience was fantastic, but this location was really not so good. It was understaffed and one of our group members didn't get to play the entire last portion of the game, he was having issues for the entire last 10-15 minutes and eventually it stopped responding at which point we were all yelling "pause" for about five minutes and nobody responded until the game was almost over. The Cerritos location eiither needs to close some rooms or hire more staff. Also, I'm not convinced they're actually sanitizing gear between sessions. Just a heads up. Sandbox VR is awesome but this location is definitely not the one to visit. read more

One of the coolest experiences we've ever done. It's perfect for small birthday parties, team building or family time! I went with my family and it was sooo much fun!! We were a sweating mess by the time we were done and it was so worth it. We will definitely do it again. We did deadwood mansion and it was scary and so intense the whole time. The reservation process was so easy. The staff explained everything very clearly and even laughed with us. The only recommendation i have is, when you tell them your nickname and team name, make sure you spell it out because once the staff types it out, they cant go back later and fix the video, so even though we loved loved loved our movie, our last name was spelled wrong and we couldnt change. read more

We chose deadman's valley and let me just say that it was really fun and scary (since it was all zombies). I highly recommend this for anyone that's into VR or just wants to try something new. We were all excited to celebrate a birthday at Sandbox VR, Cerritos and chose to do the Deadwood Valley VR. It was our first time and the customer service was poor from the young guy who was assigned to help us named Vi. He was very short patient with us while checking in and throughout our time there. We asked if the VR we chose would be too scary for one of the younger kids and he offered no feedback. Fortunately another associate stepped in and offered to let the kids see a snippet of the VR which put them at ease. This was great on her part but we didn't get her name. During the game there were some difficulties with some not being able to hear and when it was broughy to Vi's attention, he was snappy with his responses. After our session we were all talking about how cool the VR was and it was brought up the guy who help us rude and we wished the lady helped us instead. My husband called back to speak with a manager about our experience and Alex, the assistant manager answered but was not helpful and was told a manager was not available but would call back and so far we have not received a call back. It's sad our first Sandbox VR experience was not a great one! read more

I came and the vr was all glitching up, and they had to keep stopping it to fix it. And as compensation they gave me a coupon to come back for free. But when I came back I had to wait an hour because they gave my RESERVATION away. Like what's the point of reserving if your just going to give it to another group. Very disappointing compared to my experience at the Kirkland location. The game (Deadwood Valley) was extremely buggy. Gun shots had a lot of lag, our limbs kept bugging out and looking weird. My girlfriend was using akimbo pistols and they were just floating near her hands most of the time. Our legs kept snaking forward. My haptic feedback vest did nothing. And even after mentioning this multiple times to the staff they didn't fix it. They only fixed someone's gun because it wasn't shooting which took forever to fix. And the staff member hosting us was very rude. They just said thanks when we finished. I had to show my friends the video since I've been to one in Kirkland before. Normally they say things like, "how was it?", "let me show you this preview over here." In our case they should've given us a return voucher or discount or something with all the trouble we went through because of the bugs. Just horrible experience compared to the Kirkland one. It's one thing to be treated like this at a place where you spend 10-20 bucks a person for this, but to have 4 people spending 50 dollars each for a 30 minute experience like this is just unacceptable. We spent 200 dollars for this buggy and rude experience. I do not recommend this location. Find a different sandbox vr. read more

I took my son and his friends here for his 13th birthday. And I am so glad I did. We all had a blast them playing the game and the parents laughing at their actions. Watching their actions and listening to what they were saying was so fun. The place was very organized and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I also got the game box which the kids all loved!! Kind of a mess. Video quality is pretty bad and lags soo bad. 45 minute session. 20 minutes spent fixing battery/ lagging issue but we weren't compensated or given extra time. I'm so sad! I really wanted to enjoy this and there is so much potential. Me and my husband did Deadwood Valley, while the game itself had a cool storyline, the equipment was terrible. Some of the sensors were literally taped together. More than half the game my "guns" were floating in mid air and limbs just flying everywhere. They tell you to raise your hand if you experience issues and no one helped me until I took my mask off and even then my equipment still was failing so I just gave up. There was a point where the visual my googles were giving started spinning and it gave me the biggest headache. My entire team was experiencing issues from the get go. I want to try a VR experience again, but will probably not be doing it here. read more

This place is absolutely awesome! I had planned a session for 5 to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday-- However, when we arrived, I discovered I had inadvertently booked at the Topanga location rather than the Cerritos location. I had a momentary heart attack and thought that my boyfriend's birthday surprise had been ruined by my mistake, but the staff here were so amazingly accommodating! After I showed them I had paid for a session at the Topanga location, they were able to accommodate us an hour later with a session for my friends and me at no extra charge. I was soooo grateful for that! It literally saved the day (and the cancellation fee I would have had to pay otherwise!). On top of that, the staff was super friendly and made the experience very fun. My friends and I had a great time doing the Deadwood Mansion experience. I've never done VR before, so it was awesome and a little bit crazy how real everything felt. My heart was pounding, and I was screaming and sweating up a storm as we fought hordes of zombies. The staff also kindly added a mini birthday VR experience to celebrate my boyfriend at the end of our session! It was great. The only downside was the VR sensors were slightly off, which occasionally caused our characters to glitch and do the splits or kick their feet up in the air-- Thankfully this didn't hugely effect the quality of the game itself, since the game detected our guns just fine. The only thing it made difficult was reviving dead teammates. You were supposed to touch your teammate's shoulder in order to revive him when he was dead, but because of the faulty sensors, it was difficult actually getting this function to work. Still had a great time overall, though! And the staff was once again super accommodating by giving my friend group a free voucher to return and try the experience again when the VR sensors had been repaired. We will definitely be returning! (They also let us take our masks off briefly to take a photo as we were leaving, which was appreciated!) read more

Then suited up and waited around 30 minutes with goggles on, waiting while they fix the technical difficulties. In the end, they couldn't get it to work. They offered for us to wait for another room or a full refund. Since it was already late and we were tired of waiting around for 2 hours, we decided on the refund. Just very disappointed. read more

The coolest experience I have had in such a long time. Everyone was very nice and they explained everything perfectly so we knew what to expect. We did the Deadwood Mansion experience and it was incredible. First, you place these cool looking devices on your hands and feet that I assume are for motion detection. Then you put on a bullet proof vest type of thing and a back pack type of thing all for motion and to feel like if something is attacking you. Then you also put on goggles and headphones and then you get immersed into the virtual reality. The graphics are outstanding and it is very entertaining and I definitely recommend this experience to everyone!! read more
