So much fun! Three of us played the Star Trek Discovery mission. It did not make me motion sick like other VR experiences. The employees were super friendly and helpful. Jason assisted us in our experience and was very welcoming and attentive. I did not catch the name of the girl that checked us in, but she was also very helpful and welcoming. The VR experience itself was better than expected. We all felt very immersed and it was fun being able to interact with each other in game. read more

OMG this place is the Bomb Diggity! If you have been looking for some safe fun away from huge crowds of people Sandbox VR is the place for you! It is so clean and their staff is amazing and just as excited as you are to have a good time! Francis was our guide and he was so kind and upbeat! Their experiences feel so real and they have some amazing ones to choose from. I went with a group of 5 friends and we did the Deadwood Mansion to go with Spooky Season and we paid $33 each with an October promo which was a steal, but I would have totally paid full price because it was an unforgettable time. Also they make a cool video of everyone playing and will send it to you to share on your social media which is so awesome because other places make you pay for videos, but it's included with the experience. I will definitely be coming back to try the other experiences. read more

My wife and my friends and I decided to try for the 1st time the VR experience at sandbox in Austin.  About 10 minutes into the game she got visibly I'll. She started to sweat profusely, and felt nauseous and lightheaded.  She raised her hand to get out of the game and asked for a place to sit so that she could watch us finish the game. She still was feeling a little bit disoriented but decided to stick around to the very end. At the end of the game I asked if we could get a refund on her game since she really didn't play and I got ill during the game. I let the manager know that it's good customer service to consider the welfare of customers and try to make the experience as fair and pleasant as possible. The manager refused to elevate the request to his superiors and said that a credit for her game isn't possible. We were also disappointed because we spent $45 for only 30 min of game play. The people assigned to us didn't seem to care how our experience was, one younger guy kept flirting with his coworker instead of attending to us. It was extremely hot during game play with all the equipment we had to wear and only one of the fans were blowing in the room. The game was probably glitching out probably because the wifi couldn't handle the data input and output signals from the motion tracking technology. We don't recommend sandbox for your VR experience. The customer service is horrible and although the technology seems cool, it isn't advanced enough to handle the data flow causing game play to glitch and freeze. We won't be going back because we don't feel our needs were met and that nobody really cared with what was going on with my wife's health. read more

Took my son and his friends here for his 17th birthday party! They enjoyed it so much they begged me to book another round. By the end of it they were so exhausted. Everyone working there seemed to really enjoy their job and were very friendly. Only down side is they make you leave your mask on during the game play. Figured you wouldn't need to due to the group being in a private room but no big deal, I understand. read more

Would not recommend this to anyone. We arrived ahead of time but our reservation was at 5:45, we left at 8. Never got to play once. Took the staff 35 mins to get around to getting us into a room, the remainder of time was spent just trying to get their equipment to work. We were informed at some point their tech staff is not on site and works remotely. It was clear the staff there had no idea what to do to fix their equipment. So 2 hours and 15 mins later we finally call it, the guy pushes for us to reschedule but given everyone I was with we didn't want to commit to a date in that moment, they barely gave us a refund for the experience we had, I asked if they would comp a free game and he said the GM refused to give us a free game. So with our out of town friend (who can't join us in the future date) is out of luck. And they took the evening away from us with their equipment failures. The staff said they've been having problems in that room all day and as soon as we left they had another group rdy to go into that same room, if it's that bad shut the room down and let ppl wait having less rooms. I hate writing reviews and am usually too lazy to do so but am right now because this GM refused to offer us any compensation. A refund is not compensation if we never received the service in the first place... don't waste your time or money here. All that aside the open room design was horrific bc of everyone in other rooms yelling at top volume, I cannot believe they have zero tech staff on site, a GM who has no QC or interest in his product. If we were comp'd a free game I'd prob come back and spend my money or even a discount. But now I'd never recommend this to anyone ever and will never go back. Literal joke, do anything else with your time. Reading this review is a better experience than that place read more

He was such a nice guy and was extremely patient with our large group. He made everything such much more fun with his great attitude and personality. Let me preface this by saying I done messed up. It clearly says to show up 15 minutes early and we were only 5 minutes early. That's our fault for sure. This review is not on the late policy it's just on the way we were treated. When we showed up 5 minutes early the door asks to wait outside to be let in and we were left waiting outside for 30 minutes. Once we were finally let in a member of the staff came in kind of aggressively about how we were 30 minutes late. Not very nice. We weren't that late just didn't get let in to the building for that long. I also get they're busy and doing their job but I wish they would've handled it differently. They also proceeded to let in someone that was 10 minutes late to their appointment BUT they lucked out and showed up right when someone finally checked the door. They also still had spots that night with appointments open so don't know why we couldn't get pushed. Long story short if you'd like to do this show up extra early! Looked like fun! Will honestly probably try again haha! read more
