This place is so good. Been trying to find a BBQ place since our other place closed. The food was so good and plenty for the group. We got the Mama sweats for the two of us and that was PERFECT for dinner and lunches for the next day. All of the meat was so good and nothing dry. It also reheats well. Of the sides we had at the table, beans, slaw, fries and potato salad, all were good, though there is a lot of mustard in the potato salad. Very good and will be going again and again! read more

It doesn't look like much, but for the price we were super impressed. Had the shared BBQ plate with cornbread and Brussels. Was plenty of food for 2 people. The dry rub on the wings was delicious. The chicken thighs had a sort of honey mustard sauce that was delicious. Tri tip was super tender. Cornbread was delicious and not really spicy at all. Service was nice - we sat outside on the patio with the dog and our server brought out some extra meat for the dog to try. For that alone - 5 stars! Saturday night and the place was maybe 1/4 full. When we first walked in I wasn't sure if we just sat ourselves or not, but decided to wait to be seated. When seated at a booth, we sank into the bench seats so I spent the rest of the time sitting at the edge so I could eat. It was not comfortable. Since it was our first time there we decided to give Mama Sweats a try in order to taste a bit of all the meats. Upon ordering we were told that they were already out of ribs. "Already?!" I asked in disbelief. The menu said ribs served after 4pm and we arrived just after 5pm. And like I said, it wasn't even busy. Not sure if I was disappointed with the fact that they ran out of ribs just an hour after they began serving it, or maybe the uncomfortable bench seat, or that there was so much salt in our corn that we couldn't eat it. The dry rub on the chicken wings was a bit much. The sauce on the chicken was interesting. It wasn't bad. Actually the citrus provided a refreshing taste to the platter. The pulled pork was probably the best, but it would've been nice if it had a bit more sauce. Sauce was extra. They had more than a handful to pick from, but paying to taste each one didn't make sense for me. Our waiter was nice, but I just didn't have a pleasant experience. Stopped by this place after a hike near Mt Hood and it was exactly we needed. The service was amazing. The Mama Sweats - dish with an array of different meat cuts was spectacular. Ate here for the first time last night for a birthday dinner. Had the Tri-tip sandwich. We also ordered a 1/4 rack of ribs to try out their BBQ. As well as an order of their pulled pork egg rolls. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It's a little loud as far as background noise, but not unbearable. Let's just say WOW!!! The tri-tip was a good size sandwich and was absolutely, positively, 1000% hit on the head as far as the cook went. It was moist and the flavor was amazing! I could have ate 2 of them it was that good! The pulled pork egg rolls were also very good and flavorful. The ribs, I ordered with their chipotle crema sauce on the side. The ribs were done to perfection and fall off the bone. They didn't even need a sauce but the chipotle crema was a nice addition to the amazing flavor of the ribs. For dessert we had a blueberry crumble warmed up with a scoop of ice cream and it was also on par with the rest of the amazing food! There are limited tables and even more limited parking. The menu options for what I consider for typical bbq is missing at least on the lunch menu. I am curious about what's on the dinner menu. We have frequented this location for lunches for years but ha never tried the food since new owners opened Sandbar BBQ. We called in a large order for pickup to feed four of us at a nearby house. The service was excellent but the food was even better. The steak was amazing as was the pulled pork and salad.
