What an experience this place is! Consider a slice a full fledge meal! We had 9 people (2 were children) and ordered 2 Large and 1 medium! We will have multiple days of leftovers! We got the JIM'S SUPER SPECIAL (Pepperoni, Salami, Ham, Onions, Mushrooms, Green Peppers), a cheese, DINA'S SPECIAL (Spinach, Feta Cheese, Onions, Green Peppers). Worst service ever. A woman watching our ball game tried ordering pizza and apparently she is blacklisted from 7 years because she was 10 minutes late for delivery/pickup. Anyway, members from our team tried ordering via phone and in person and this guy didn't want our business because of the blacklisted spectator. Lasagna is Mom's favourite pasta dish, so I was happy the daughter had suggested it as the dinner 'treat' for Mother's Day. I order from San Remos all the time. We've spent a good amount of money there. The last time we ordered for delivery a pop was missing. We had lots of people over and it was not an ideal time to call and report it missing. I didn't think it would be an issue to let them know when I ordered the next time. Fast forward to today when I ordered a medium pizza and 2 desserts (comes to over $50). I let the owner or manager know about the pop that was missing from my last order and could they please replace it. He said no. He flat out refused to replace the pop because I didn't 'report it' on the day of. I explained that my house was a bit chaotic at the time and it was not an ideal time to call back that evening. The owner told me he can't 'prove' I didn't get the pop. Basically, he called me a liar. I told him I wasn't trying to get a free pop...I just wanted the one I paid for which they forgot. He didn't care. He was argumentative and told me ANYONE could say they were missing a pop. The owner then told me the pop only cost a dollar so I should just pay for a new pop. Ditto! The cheek. Very off putting and offensive. I told him to cancel my entire order because I wasn't into being nickle and dimed over a pop. Makes zero sense to lose loyal customer business because you're too cheap to replace a pop that was paid for. October 31, 2023: Total joke! Bully owner said we are not allowed to order from them anymore because I left them a negative review regarding the pop we paid for. What kind of business does this? Lunatic management blacklisted us (without telling us) because they made a mistake in our order the previous week. At the time, we called to ask for it to be rectified, and after some debate they agreed to bring us another pizza. We decided to give it another shot this week, and were told that they couldn't take our order. I can live without the pizza, it's mediocre, but it was part of a larger plan and we were all starving (again, after they messed up our order last time and we had to wait for replacement). After ordering pick up, once we got home called back the resto to report that we got someone else's food swapped into our order, the store manager claimed we were 'scamming' his restaurant to get free food. We went from 7 year customers, to random food criminals because we called to report the issue. Holy crap do I have a story for you. We ordered from Door Dash, which they are on- a large pizza and 10 Tereyaki wings. When our driver got there, firstly, they said they don't take orders from door dash, which is bullshit because they do and have in the past. They are on the website and they took our money. Secondly, they gave him the wrong wings, which he double checked for us (a great driver!) so they go to make "more". Then, as they bring out the pizza, they drop the pizza but "it's fine". No, it's smushed together into a gelatonious blob. Our driver didn't want to take the order like this, in which the owner of this place starts screaming and yelling at him, and then the fucking owner decides that the driver is full of shit and spits in his face. What a fucking asshole. When we get our order, the pizza has obviously been fucked with, and we got 4 wings instead of 10. I have half a mind to ask for a refund, but if I did, the owner and I would probably both get arrested for assault. This isn't the first instance of the owner being a complete jerk either. He treats his employees like trash and uses his "secret" sauce, which is probably the Yelper Special from South Park. Came here with 2 of a friends for dinner, we ordered straight for our mains. I remember one of my friend had a left over pizza from this place before and it was good, and so I ordered the small deluxe San Remo pizza that they have. My friends ordered fish &a chips and deep fried battered shrimp for the other one. And also a calamari to share. I was glad and made the right decision to order the pizza, my friends food where not good at all. The fried dish were a bit dry the batter from the halibut, shrimp and also the calamari where all the same, thick and hard. They have this chopped onions on the calamari that was place on the side of the plate four corners and four pieces each, which looked ridiculous!! The sauces of each dish doesn't properly go with the food. The tartar sauce tasted more of tzatziki than a tartar. So far the only food that my friends like was the pizza that I ordered, deep dish and not too thick crust. The place was clean and not to loud, servers where a bit slow. This place used to be one of my favorite pizza places around. I used to order the house special all the time when i had company over. Had the house special a few weeks ago and it was terrible. definitely not the way i remember it. I had been telling everyone about how good this pizza was gonna be and everybody was pissed off about how bad it was. Crust was burnt as hell, looked like the toppings were just thrown on without a care and they put way too must pizza sauce! at $23 (plus tip & taxes) for a medium pizza, it should be nothing but top notch. very disappointed and will never order from here again. Another reason i will never give a dime to this business ever again is the way they treat their employees. When i was about to order the pizza my friend told me not to because "they treat their employees like sh!t, don't support that place". I didn't know what he was talking about until i went there to pick the pizza up (i usually just get delivery but was only a block away so i picked it up instead). The fact this place has 3 stars on yelp is what made me download the app to review this place. 10 out of 10. The wait staff were friendly and our waitress Karen had perfect timing. As soon as we were ready to order before I even closed the menu she was there. The generous portion of 6 pieces of garlic bread was glistening with fresh melted butter with a hint of garlic I ordered the chicken and prawn pesto and my girlfriend ordered the baked spaghetti with meatballs (you get three huge meatballs for $1!) My creamy pesto sauce was a real pesto sauce with thick dark green drizzles on my sliced chicken breast and huge prawns. The portions are huge and the pasta is very buttery. Her baked spaghetti had a thick layer of melted mozzarella and you know you have a good spaghetti when the noodles aren't the main component of the dish. The meatballs held their shape and were not dense and had great flavour. As soon as we 'gave up' on finishing our delicious meals and looked at each other with pleasant defeat there was Karen with a to go bag ready. I had one of those moments last night where I waited so long for a table that I felt like it was a 'Survivor Challenge'. It got to the point that it was 'principle' (or more likely stupidity and a snack prior to going out to dinner) that kept us waiting for that elusive table. We got to San Remo just before 7pm on a Saturday night and the place was packed. We were told it would take 20 mins to get a table so we thought what the heck. They didn't have a proper waiting area with seats and away from the diners but we thought what's 20 mins if their pizzas were as good as some people say they were. (Some of the diners must've been getting uncomfortable when we started getting real hungry and we were staring at them to will them to leave!) Eventually 2 big tables left but it still took them awhile to clear and set it. We waited so long that my legs were cramping! I finally checked the time when we sat down and it was just over an hour since we arrived!!! (I thought to myself, this pizza better be life changing.) We were sat for less than a minute and the waitress asked us what we wanted to drink. I was a bit snippy as my crampy leg was still acting up and we haven't even had a chance to open the menu. When everyone was more comfy, we ordered the hot wings, House Special pizza and drinks (Sleeman's and Strongbow). Our order came at a decent time and the service was pretty good. The wings were crispy but may have stayed in the fryer a bit too long as it was a bit dry and wasn't tossed enough for the sauce to coat it properly. The hot sauce was perfectly spicy for me but someone at my table wanted it a bit more spicy. The pizza is your typical Greek-style with the thicker crust and deeper than a NY-style but nowhere near as deep as a Chicago-style. The ingredients were nice and fresh; the tomatoes were still surprisingly fresh despite being under the cheese and gone through the oven. It had lots of onions which I like in a pizza. I'm pro pineapple so was pleasantly surprised there was plenty and sweet which was a nice foil to the spicy pepperoni and complemented the ham. The crust was bland so we left a lot of the ends on our plates. Overall the pizza was above average but not life changing (like the pizza we had in Chicago!!!) and would definitely rethink dining in -- at least between 6-7pm on a Saturday.
