This restaurant is authentic Latino to the tea. They have a pretty complete bakery with a large selection of cafes and fruit drinks as well. I had a craving for the arroz con leche and the price was right at $3.00. What's more when I paid an optional tip wasn't tried to be injected into the transaction. We had a few things here, i replaced the tortillas that came with my dish (plantains (which were absolutely delicious), beans, and eggs) for two pupusas instead. The revueltas pupusa was really good, tasted perfect! The beans and cheese tasted like it was microwaved unfortunately. Revueltas is definitely the way to go here. I love the carne tacos from San Miguel cafe. They are filled with lots of meet and very reasonably priced. I've also tried the tamales and pupusas from here, which were really good. I usually get take out, but they have a ton of seating if you would like to eat there. read more

This a very good eatery for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is Salvadorean but there are several American-style breakfasts as well. I highly recommend the corn atole, a not overly sweet pureed drink. Delicious! Often times they also have a pineapple atole which contains, logically enough, bits of pineapple. Of the two atoles, I prefer the corn atole. I find the pineapple atole heavily spiced and too sweet. On my last visit, I ordered a plate with pancakes, a hefty hashbrown, scrambled eggs, and a round of sausage. A very decent price, especially when compared to other local diners. I have to do a shout-out for the scrambled eggs. I don't know how they prepared them, but they were especially tasty! Casual atmosphere with lots and lots of tables. Loved this restaurant and it has gone downhill at least from the beginning of this year I have noticed. People helping up front are nice. Reason for 1 . I ordered pastelitos today and I should of known better. They were cooked in rancid oil . I didn't even have to taste them I could smell it as soon as I opened the take out box. I have previously ordered them 2 times before and gave them the benefit of the doubt then also. But enough with giving them chances to correct it. San Miguel Cafe is a great local place. I was in today for their $10 all-you-can-eat lunch buffet and I was very impressed. They have a huge selection of food available. Everything was fresh and delicious. I sampled a wide variety. My favorites were the beef stew and the chicken enchiladas. The tomatillo sauce on the enchiladas was excellent. This location also has a bakery that makes homemade breast and desserts. Unfortunately, I was too stuffed to give dessert a try. I'll definitely be visiting again. read more

All manner of seafood grace this impressive serving of soup. My husband was impressed to find a full blue crab swimming in the divine broth. I ordered the Platanos Fritos. It fulfilled a craving. I finally got my food. I got the carne asada and it as so dry and chewy, I was only able to stomach a few bites. I wasn't so much concerned for that because it was SO salty. It tasted like they cooked it in a bath of salt, fried it in salt, and then spilled the whole container of salt onto the meat. I believe I had no more than 4 bites. I came into this restaurant for the first time because I thought that they had the buffet. Apparently it's only open during the week and during certain hours. Needless to say, I found something off of the menu that looked good. I ordered the steak and cheese sandwich that included French fries, as well as, a horchata drink. I was a bit skeptical when I saw the place . You had to order at a register and have a seat with a number , not typical for a Latino Restaurant. There were also no physical menus , to at least stand aside to figure out what to order . You could only see what was above the register . Never the less , the food was AMAZING!!!!!! Our large group arrived, as always over 15-20 minutes. The dining room is good sized and in the evenings, it is mostly empty. However a steady tale away business kept the staff busy. Perhaps the best sign of the authenticity of the food is that every customer other than out group was Latino. Orders are taken at the counter with the orders delivered to the table. I ordered the Bistek Encebollado and a Pork Pupusa. Given the number of orders(8), it took a few minutes for the entrees to arrive. When they did, the food was fresh and hot. The Bistek has an excellent flavor although the beef had several pieces of gristle. The potato/beet salad was both excellent and unusual. The Pupusa (pork and cheese) was hot, fresh off the stove and very tasty. We will certainly return. read more

This food was naaaasty. I've tried so many dishes from here, trying to give them a chance every single time. But the worst one was today, they gave me undercooked meat inside of my empanada. When I called to let them know what they had done, they responded terribly and even hung up the phone on me. My husband's food was also salty.
