Western Omelet

The original location in Arlington is a local institution that has been around for over 50 years. They are your no frills diner giving you classic breakfast items. The food was great and super hearty. They have lots of options for whatever you are in the mood for and can customize your breakfast as you wish. Great breakfast spot! Keep in mind they do charge a credit card fee. Entrees: Western Omelette, Country Fried Steak with Grits and Two Eggs and Sausage

The interior of the restaurant reminds you of an old timey diner which I enjoy myself. The waitress I had was super attentive and knew the menu before I could even finish my sentences. The food was made in adequate time for how many people were there. Temperature of the food was good, portion size was satisfying. For the amount of diner-style places I have been to, this place is on the lighter side of hitting the flavors but that could be good for some people. Overall I enjoyed the food and soaking in the time period experience this place is trying to convey.

I recently stopped by for a meal and had a generally positive experience. The food was a highlight, with a veggie omelette and grits paired with a toasted English muffin - a nice touch. Service was excellent, with speedy seating and an attentive server who checked in more than frequently. Most staff members were smiling, welcoming and helpful, although a few seemed less enthusiastic, offering brief, cold stares. I dined alone and was in and out within (30) minutes. The bar stool seating area where I sat seemed like an appropriate spot for solo diners like myself, and I appreciated the quick turnaround time. I had a direct view of the grill. With so many staff on hand, I can see that this was a well oiled machine type of operation.

We woke up craving pancakes for breakfast but were pleasantly surprised by the wide selection at Bob & Edith's Diner. We decided to order delivery instead and tried the steak n' cheese sub and country fried steak. Honestly, we weren't expecting too much, but the generous portions and freshness of the food really impressed us. Love their onion rings! Everything was delicious, and we truly enjoyed our breakfast. Happy tummy indeed!

We ordered to go and brought the food home! The Philly Cheesesteak and Country Fried Steak with Gravy were delicious! Unfortunately, instead of getting the Hot Turkey sandwich they gave us ham (or that's Turkey that tasted like ham.) When we went to order in the diner, it's a fifty's style place and very busy! I would highly recommend the cheesesteaks and country fried steak!

Our family loves local restaurants when traveling instead of big chains. Stopped in to Bob and Edith's for dinner and was not disappointed. The classic diner decor is great. The fast and friendly service was fantastic. Best of all the food was perfect. Our group picked a classic grilled cheese, ham and cheese sub, and chicken fried steak - all were cooked perfectly. We'll definitely be back when in the area.

This location is one of many Bob & Edith's in Alexandria, Arlington and Springfield. I stopped here after work a few days ago with an craving for breakfast food despite the time of the day. The restaurant was fully staffed though there were only a few tables occupied. Comfortable quiet ambiance...and pleasantly not over-air-conditioned. I was greeted by a smiling friendly young woman who indicated I could sit anywhere. Upon being seated, I was promptly provided with a menu and water. I ordered the most basic of basic breakfasts: eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. My food arrived in good time. All the items were decently prepared. Bonus points for the toast being buttered before it came out to my table. My server checked on me at least a couple times, and without prompting, gave me a water refill. I pulled the reins in on my appetite and opted against a shake, though I do know the shakes are very good at Bob & Ediths. Yes indeed, this is my go-to spot for a diner breakfast in Springfield.

This diner is located in a strip mall with a large parking lot, so parking is not an issue here. It dates back to 1969 an even though they are a self proclaimed Dallas Cowboy supporter, that will not affect my rating and review. The diner has a large dining area and serves a wide array of food including burgers, sandwiches, omelettes, soups, salads, waffles, pancakes and french toast. The staff there was friendly enough, but I will admit that my interaction with them was limited. This diner has a an old-school feel and is opened 24 hours which is a plus for those that have the late night munchies. I ordered a grilled cheese with a side of home fries. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. I was very unimpressed. The home fries lacked any flavor or taste. I could not even finish them. The grilled cheese was nothing special. I have made much better myself. As I alluded to, I was very disappointed. I would probably skip this restaurant and find another eatery.

Typical diner. I went in on a Fri night with my 2 teenage boys for milkshakes. Nothing mind blowing but good shakes. One odd thing, I was overcharged for my bill. I left no tip on the card b/c I left a 20% tip in cash. They still charged my card with a tip added on. I contacted my credit card company and the cleared it up but not sure what happened and I'm going to believe that an honest mistake was made.

This is every greasy breakfast diner's dream come true. Food is American style breakfast and lunch, 24/7 365 days a year. The staff is quick to get food out and are incredibly polite. The ambiance/vibe is eclectic diner vibes. It's bright, cold, clean enough, and you know what to expect when you come in. Lots of chatter and happy people with full tummies. This is our go to breakfast spot and the prices are perfect!

Food was good and hot. The dining room had a few occupied tables. Service was quick and efficient. We'll return.

Whenever I have trouble sleeping, and I have a craving for some breakfast diner food, this is the place I go to satisfy my hunger. My go to item is the corned beef hash with eggs over easy, some hash browns and white toast. Paired with a glass of OJ and my hunger is sated. Open 24/7 with plenty of parking, this place is located near the Giant grocery store. I believe the original Bob and Edith's is in Arlington, which is quite a ways for me, so the Springfield location is my diner of choice.

Stopped by for a late breakfast, perfect weather for outside seating. The service is is great everyone works as a team. I was serviced by a few Edith's employees from the servers to the runners all were absolutely amazing. I ordered the a delicious breakfast with delicious turkey sausage home fries and perfect eggs. The toast was one of my favorites with butter spread and jelly. Combined with a cup of coffee and orange juice. I also loved how you had outdoor seating as well as Indoor both locations are comfortable. Great place to come enjoy alone or with friends and family. If you live in the area make sure to stop and enjoy the great menu.

The actual restaurant feels massive but decorated in a rustic way. I want to give a huge shout out to Alicia. She is such a knowledgeable, approachable, and receptive server. She was on top of refilling drinks, making sure we weren't left alone for too long when we were waiting for our food to come, and just had an overall amazing energy. While we really enjoy all of the servers we've had at Mikes, Alicia takes the cake. If there's any way to provide her with recognition, I would highly vouch for it. She could sell me anything on that menu with that kind of personality! Thank you, Alicia! I'm going to make sure we try to get seated at your table again.

As expected, it was busy, but the restaurant does have a fairly large parking lot which made arrival easier. The setup was interesting. After checking in downstairs, I was given a ticket and directed upstairs for seating. I took the elevator, which offered a clear view of the kitchen below as it ascended... definitely a unique touch. Upstairs, another host staff guided us to our table. The space had a lively feel, roaring with chatter from customers, and I could see parts of the kitchen where food was being prepared over an open flame, which added to the overall atmosphere. For the food, we started with the calamari. It was cooked well and had a nice texture, especially paired with the crispy onion shoestrings, which added a good crunch and flavor. It was served over a lobster sauce, although the lobster flavor wasn't very noticeable. The main issue was the salt level... it was quite heavy! I did enjoy it overall, but I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't have to watch their sodium intake. For entrées, I ordered the steak cooked medium with broccolini. The dish automatically comes with mashed potatoes, and while I was able to substitute the salad for broccolini, there didn't seem to be flexibility with the potatoes. After tasting the mashed potatoes, I wish I was offered to substitute it as it tasted like the brown box we grew up on where you just added water. When the food came out, the steak was closer to medium-well or well done rather than medium, and both the mashed potatoes and broccolini were a bit cold. I chose not to send it back since we waited but it did affect the overall experience. My guest ordered the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were well-prepared--tender with a clean pull off the bone--and were probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were also very good and came out hot. The coleslaw wasn't as well received, described as having too many of the tougher parts of the cabbage. Overall, the experience had some positives, especially in terms of atmosphere and certain menu items like the ribs and fries. While I did enjoy parts of the meal, it's not somewhere I would personally return to, but it may be worth trying once to form your own opinion.

My bf is in tech so he has a habit of taking his laptop everywhere-- I tend to think there are certain places you can have laptops and certain places where you can't. First Watch is one of those places where I'm like eh.... Maybe not. But I did! We didn't stay long and only had our laptops open for the meal, but no one said anything so it was solid. Additionally, I didn't know what I wanted to eat because I wanted to be a little adventurous so I ask the waitress what I should get. I am sometimes hesitant to ask bc I always feel they're going to upcharge me instead of giving me their opinion, but I don't believe she did thank and I was grateful! Wish I got her name. FOOD: So, for me she suggested the chilaquiles. I trusted her input and ordered that! I was hesitant because, traditionally, that dish is typically very heavy and spice-based, and I didn't know if I wanted to start the day off with food like that, but it was SO GOOD. Lots of flavors. I was very happy. First Watch is always a treat. Fresh food and good times!

There was a second birthday party in full swing, yet the family who owns the restaurant greeted us with such warmth and kindness and invited us to sit wherever we felt comfortable. You can immediately tell this is a place built on heart, humility, and truly good people. The service stood out in the best way. I asked whether the Caesar dressing contained anchovies due to a pregnancy restriction, and although our server wasn't completely sure, he handled it with care and thoughtfulness. He brought the dressing on the side and offered to swap it entirely out of an abundance of caution, which meant a lot and showed how much they value their guests' comfort. And the food. Absolutely delicious. Every dish tasted fresh and authentic, and the sauces alone are worth coming back for. You can tell everything is made with intention and pride. What really makes this place special, though, is the feeling you leave with. By the end of dinner, it doesn't feel like you just ate at a restaurant. It feels like you were welcomed into a family. Eggs & Sushi is one of those hideouts and if you're not careful, might end up eating 7k calories before you leave. You'll only know this place exists if you live or work in the Lorton area where Eggs & Sushi stands firm. If not for Google Maps, you may drive on by without a thought. I stopped because their simple sign but just some quirky in a strange way caught my eye and it's in the middle of a warehouse street where you would not expect food places to be. Surprisingly, there are always little cafes in these kind of places that feed the immediate workers there. They are sometimes the hidden gems nobody will hear about unless you work in that area. This is one of them. Walking in, it feels like a small diner, yellow walls, lots of menu above the grill area displayed on multiple screens, properly lit dining area. They take orders at the end and at a kiosk as well. Window seats, couple of tables, and some bar seats also. Seems simple enough but this place is the ultimate trap for the hungry. Be careful! When you look up, you realize they have a vast menu and varied in the most fantastic way. You have your generic American style food, eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, sandwiches, coffee, smoothie, an all day breakfast menu. Then you keep walking around to look at the menu, you see sushi, rolls, poke bowls, ramen, some dons, etc. You might think, hmm, they might be overloaded on the menu. Wrong! They make fantastic sandwiches! Smaller not overpriced ramen but with lots of oomph flavor! These guys bring the umami and drip it like masters. The dons hit, the ramen hits, the sandwiches hit, and my all time favorite breakfast item, the elegantly simple French toast hits. They are serving hits here and only a few know about it. Service was adequate from their high school kid waiters. The owners at the grill are very friendly if you get a chance to interact with them. Just a very chill ambience.
