Beef burrito with rice and beans
    Amanda H.

I love San Luis. They have been a staple since moving to the area 15 yrs ago. The service has always been spot on and our waiter last night had a great sense of humor. I ordered a Mt. Dew and it tasted a little on the flat side. When I asked if I could get something different he said it was his fault bc he used bottom shelf tequila. When he returned with a Dr Pepper he said it should be much better because he used top shelf tequila for it. A sense of humor goes a long way. My food has always been great every time I've eaten here. Last night I decided to get dessert. All I can say is OMG. I ordered the banana chimichanga . I could've really used some help eating this. 2 tortillas stuffed with bananas, fried, rolled in cinnamon and sugar and served with ice cream, whipped cream, and drizzled with cherry and chocolate syrup. This is a typical American Mexican restaurant. It can get very busy especially on the weekends but definitely worth the wait. The booths do slide around a bit and sometimes it can get cramped depending on who is sitting behind or in front of you.

The Burrito Diablo is the best item on the menu. Nice size and no rice or bean filler. The way they cook the steak is outstanding. The homemade green salsa is legit! It has a great flavor and a nice bite to it.

I decided to try this place out because I had a coupon for BOGO in the entertainment book. Some of my favorite finds come from trying new places due to a coupon. The food was really good here. The service was really good as well. The margaritas..... some of the absolute best margaritas I have had. They were on point! The flavor, 5he alcohol level, everything was just right. We ordered a pitcher and had zero regrets. I will go back there for margaritas any day. So good.

We love this place for Mexican food. Quesadillas here are huge, with lots of meat jammed in them. Aqua Fresca is always good and they have ones outside of the basic Jamika and Horchata, like pineapple and cantaloupe. The staff is always professional and good. Plenty of space inside. One time I left my phone in the parking lot and found it using findmyiphone, and the staff kept the phone inside for me until the next day. Just good people and good food.

Recently visited San Luis before a trip to the grocery store bc we all know going to the grocery store hungry is expensive! The street tacos were very good! They had all the right garnishes with lime and radishes! The service was speedy, and the environment was comfortable. We have already been back for more!

I was honestly a tad bit disappointed in this restaurant. From the reviews and ratings on this restaurant I expected so much more than what I experienced. Upon arrival I noticed that the parking lot (which isn't big) was full-- mainly from patrons of San Luis. This was a good sign to me and I was excited! When my husband and I walked in we stood at the counter and the hostess "greeted" us if you would like to call it that. Honestly, she was far from friendly. I would describe her as cold with almost a grimace on her face (definitely not someone I'd want as the first person my customers come into contact with) it set a bad tone for the first noted experience of the restaurant. Upon leaving she made eye contact but did not speak to say have a good night, I still wished her a good evening and we left. Once seated, we ordered tacos and chori dip (something light in case we weren't happy). My beef hard tacos were not bad and the salsa was cold and fresh with good flavor. My husbands hard chicken tacos were BLAND they almost looked boiled with no seasoning, hardly any color. He was very disappointed. His margarita was mostly mixer and the chori dip wasn't bad. Overall- we decided it just wasn't for us and we will not be back. Don't let that stop you from going and judging for yourself.

Chips & salsa, original margarita with a splash of cranberry juice (my preference).

Our dinner at San Luis was good -- the hostess and servers were friendly and attentive and the food was prepared quickly and was tasty. We ordered the fajitas for two, which has A LOT of food, but the shrimp was a little over cooked. It was tasty nonetheless. The quest (not pictured) is delish and that margarita you see was perfection after a long week.

Hands down a great place for a quick bite! Came here on a Monday when nothing else was open and…read moredecided to try it. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. It was delicious and not too salty as the usual tex mex places. Your meal also comes with a side of chips and salsa. The chips are perfectly fried and not greasy. They also have the right amount of salt. All of the ingredients are fresh. One of the things I like most, is that they have four different types of pico de gallo. One mixed with mango, another with pineapple, cucumber, and then regular. I've only tried the mango and I loved it! My husband got the quesabirria! By far authentic birria. So good! We have actually been there twice before I decided to review it. The second time I got the California burrito, which is huge but tasty. The service is impeccable and the restaurant itself is very clean, including the bathrooms. We will definitely be back for more! Highly recommended!

I do love a good burrito, so when I was in the area I decided to try the California Burrito here…read more It is big, but it is also costly at almost $14. This is an interesting dish, one that originated in San Diego in the 1980's, and soon spread across the country. It is quite different from the burrito that originated in Northern Mexico, especially around the city of Chihuahua before 1900. The dish started with the carne asada burrito and added cheese, guacamole, sour cream, pico, and even seasoned French fries. I found this burrito interesting but it is not one I'd order again, entirely too busy for me, and the texture is all over the place. I did like the restaurant overall, and will return at some point to try some of their other offerings.

The service is good as the staff is friendly and prompt on checking on you or refilling your chips and salsa. Ambiance is friendly although it was a bit cold the day we went so we left our jackets on throughout dinner. Business there is typically steady so if you go at a peak time there may be a wait. We went at 5:30 on a Friday and got right in but by the time we left around 7, the wait was a few people deep. The food is always good and portions are large. As with most Mexican places, they start you off with chips and salsa. The chips do not have salt on them so you may need to add it if you enjoy a salted chip. The salsa is good and not very spicy although my wife who doesn't do spice said it was a little much for her. I had the Cocina plate which is chicken, shrimp, and steak with onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese sauce over rice. This is my go to as it's delicious and always hits the spot. My wife had a fajita quesadilla that was overflowing with meat and veggies and she really enjoyed. We tried some of their Paloma drinks this last time which were very strong but had good flavor.
